Thanks for sharing! Lots of good information here. But I would not trust Mr. Prakan too much when it comes to health insurance for long term stay for retirees. Because Pacific Cross who is popular among retirees have much better plans than Mr. Prakan show here. Better check their web site(and others) and contact their Pattaya branch before making any descissions. I have had them on my radar for over 10 years now, and will most likely use Pacific Cross when I retire in Thailand within 2-3 years. And I say "most likely" because every choice I make have to be validated just before I make the move, due to insurances, conditions and coverage may vary over time. When it comes to insurances it always is extremely important to red the "fine lines" VERY carefully. It is not always an insurance is as good as it claim in a brochure. Because the brochure don't tell you what's excluded from the insurance. And for a retiree in their 60's, 70's and 80's+, that can often be very crucial and the difference between life and death... So I hope everyone thinking of retirement in Thailand or other places abroad do think carefully on their insurance and rather skimp on a few beers a day than drinking your health and/or health insurance away. 😊

chubb insurance is cheaper
French company insurance
They have different branches all over the world but by law they need to show the first head quarters on the policy that they got (Which is france). Allianz care also have TPA here in Thailand as well.
So they are fully insured under Allianz Care (which have TPAs worldwide) but the address showing on the policy is France.
Gabi they are not on the approved list anymore so you cant get a visa extentsion with Tune. Had to get another policy today. Spoke to someone they said they would refund my policy now they are saying cannot refund as policy has started. These guys are such a rip off now have 2 health insurance polices. You must be getting a commission for recommending these guys it time to earn it i reckon
Sorry to hear that :( I never heard that the insurance is not approved anymore, Tune is one of the biggest insurance provider in Thailand.
What is the reason? You need an higher coverage?
@@ridewithgabi Hi They are not on the approved insurers list (thialand immigration) so if you want to get a 3month visa extentsion you have to have health insurance with a provider that they approve of. Tune is not on that list . They will not refund. Have had to buy more health insurance today and have got the visa. But now have 2 policies Tune have let everyone down by not staying in favour with immigration Can you see the problem. Cheers steve
Gabi am sure there will other people in the same situation. You recommended this company you need to help sort cheers
If Thailand pass doesn't go online till 29 April, how come he's showing it on his computer ???
Just paid for insurance but not received confirmation by email ?
Sometime it can take a bit longer. Also check your spam folder.
If you don’t receive it after 30 minutes, you can always contact mister Prakan for customer support.
Just received my policy, but only 29 days
tune insurance are a bloody nightmare gabi i have had very bad problems with this company paying out they make you pay and then you have to claim your money back thats when the problems start
Oh really? I heard people didn’t pay a penny. It was completely cashless.
I think it depends form the kind of claim that you make. Health issues vs covid treatment vs accident, etc.
Sorry to hear that :/
@@ridewithgabi i even had mr praken and lume insurance helping me to get a reply from tune they were disgraceful
stay away from Safety Wing / Nomad insurance
Safety Wing is full of Shite, I got this insurance and when things went wrong they didn't want to know me. Avoid this insurance agency. You will just lose your money.
Do not use TUNE it’s a scam and hardly ever pays out - its cheaper for a reason.
I heard people that were very happy with their service and they got fully covered without paying anything in advance.
But I agree that it can be a very subjective experience.
Insurance business it’s always a tricky one
The insurance company you promote is a total scam. I took out their travel insurance and when I tried to make a claim they ignored me. I sent no less than 15 emails and tried on many occasions to call their support line and they just gave me the run around. It's a total fraud. You should do your research before promoting these scammers.
Thanks, that's very useful
Happy to hear that ✌️
