    Chris my wife and I love your videos and they have become inspiration for us to move to Thailand. If you haven’t already, can you post a video on how you were able to make the transition (ie. quit your job, sold everything, convince your spouse). I hope I’m not asking too much. Thanks!

    I love all your videos. One thing I noticed in this video is the Nomad insurance website is quoting you for 4 weeks of coverage. This equals to 13 payments a year. Not 12 monthly payments as the other insurance you compared it too.
    Be sure to calculate correctly for the entire year when comparing other insurance plans.

    This is very good information that I will keep for reference. Have a request and wondering if you have any plans to provide this information...or a link to a previous video with this info. Getting down to the nitty gritty, how much are other health related costs? Such as prescriptions, over the counter medications, dental, and optometry compared to the US? Would be interested because that is a consideration to include in the cost of living in Thailand.

    I think it would be useful to look into the subject health insurance more extensive. I am with Thai Vivat but what I saw happening to my friend who is also with Thai Vivat is scary. As long as you are young or never need the insurance. they all are good.
    PS: I like your channel. I live in Bangkok 20 years now and you are doing a good job. If you need new ideas... contact me.

    Hey chill man, another perfect video really pleasure to watch.. wish u could also review the claim process and if it really works as promised as that's the most important part and I know that insurance companies in general aren't the easiest to get reimbursed from (though I know uve not used.it yet) maybe make part 2 in the future if ull ever use it (hopefully not!) Or better just find learn from other people who did used it.. anyway thanks again!

    Be aware that this is a travel insurance, not a health insurance. I made a claim, and after 2 months I got the message that they deny my claim!

    Hey Chris, and everyone else...maybe this info will help:, I have residency in Saudi Arabia and basic government health care comes with that. For travel around the world, and monthly trips across the bridge to Bahrain, I use AXA, but I register with AXA as a Saudi resident; its less than 250 usd for one full year inc America. In fact there are no restrictions on travel. The only downside is my summer vacations are usually a day or two over the standard fixed 90 day single vacation cap. Yeah I know it's not the same deal as you are talking about in your video, but it may help someone somewhere figure something out. Cheers.

    If you're going to be staying in Thailand long term, the cost is still low based on what you show. In Netherlands (I'm US expat), it's only about 120 EUR (so 130 USD?). In the US, it costs a ton more. So frankly, spending 150-200/mo for healthcare in Thailand is quite ok as long as you have "western money". It's a comparative bargain all things considered.

    Insurance aside how is the medical care in Thailand? Im considering what to do when i decide to retire and if i choose another country I'll be in my mid/late sixties.
    Im in good health but may need some orthopedic care. Its hard to imagine living in another country than the USA where whatever you need is available.

    I am a doctor who traveled to the Philippines 2 months ago and was hospitalized and when I wanted to apply for my SAFETYWING insurance, they told me that I had to pay them more money so that they would return the deductible to me. It's crap life insurance, I would never buy from them again. Be careful, it might be a scam.
    Soy un doctor que hace 2 meses viajo a filipinas y estuve hospitalizado y cuando quise aplicar mi seguro SAFETYWING me dijo que tenia que pagar a ellos mas dinero para que me regresaran el deducible. Es una porqueria de seguro de vida, jamas volveria a comprar con ellos. Tengan cuidado tal vez es una estafa.

    I realize you aren't on a retirement visa (based on what you said your age is) but I'd imagine many of your viewers are interested in retirement visas -- have you researched whether or not the insurance you are suggesting in your video satisfies Thai rules for holders of Thai retirement visas?

    • @RetiredWorkingForYou
      @RetiredWorkingForYou  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have not researched that specific point yet as I am on a different visa. I'm actually researching now for a future video i plan to do summarizing all Thai Visa options and will try to include this detail when I do that video....

    DON'T buy this insurance for Thailand. Local hospitals such as Bangkok hospital, don't accept it. You can only file a claim for reimbursement, which will take around 40 days to process. So, in any case you will need to prepare a pile of cash for emergency purposes. Simply, NOT A CHOICE for Thailand. Please check the information next time before posting it. People may get in trouble
