Great video mate. I own a Tracer 900GT and have to say it seems ridiculous that Yamaha designed the bike in a way where so much stuff has to be removed just to replace an air filter.
Massively helpful video, despite no narration it was all very clear and easy to follow…I did forget to put the breather hoses back on the bike as I reinstalled the tank though🤦🏾♂️
Unfortunately this level of BS for the air filter is pretty standard for many bikes from many manufacturers. They put the air box under the gas tank, and to get the gas tank off on most bikes is an ordeal.
@@John_RidleyThe lion's share of the hassle is all of those panels that have to come loose just to access the gas tank bolts. My Tenere was a breeze by comparison. My KLX 250 was a cakewalk. The air box cover was right under the seat. I miss that bike at times like this.
Quite a lot to do. On the Tracer 9 2012 is probably not that different. The turning signals are placed differently, so that might bi easier, but... all other stuff is very similar. Thanks for sharing it mate. Appreciate it. Can check my content when you can. Cheers.
Buen video pero es difícil hacerlo sin sitio y para que luego algún plástico no te encaje bien y te vuelvas loco. No me atrevo pero a intentarlo pero muchas gracias
@@richarddoffay557 I actually bought the motorcycle with KN filter already. So i cant tell you if it makes any difference at all. I think full exhaust system, KN and a tune makes a noticeable difference.
You can make another video, where you show how to place the fuel tank absolutely perfectly. I put it gently so theres no scratches, etc. Thanks for watching, hope the video helped you.
Crazy ! ...absolutely ludicrous just to change an air filter. Dealers must rub their extremely greedy hands when they see these bikes new. That's if they even bother to change air filters in the first place. I have a V-strom 650 and it's even harder than this !
Not sure if you saw it but the screw you are missing here (th-cam.com/video/rNjWVk-IvR4/w-d-xo.html) might have popped out and landed on the ground here (th-cam.com/video/rNjWVk-IvR4/w-d-xo.html)

Thanks, true but ive seen many other touring type bikes which have similar air filter replacement method
Try working on a ZX14... a spark plug job will make you wanna break all your tools
So much work for something that takes 15 seconds. This is very helpful. Teşekkür ederim abi 💪🏻

Thnx for sharing this instruction video. It will help me and others to change the air filter on the MT 09 Tracer.
Wow, what ease of maintenance. Did they execute the engineer that designed this cluster?
haha maybe

That is quite the process!! Almost like the Ducati Monster 796, pain in the you know what.
It is what it is .. 😆

Thank you, ride safe !

Thanks, not yet but i will make in the future :)

Did the K&N filter make any difference ?

Thx for tutorial)
Should I drain the gas tank before?
No, not a problem
Best to do this when you finish a long ride and the gas level is low, but no need to drain the entire gas tank
what type of seat you use?
Stock seat
Placing the fuel tank on a concrete surface without any protection!?

At 2:54 removing left side, a couple of black things came out. Did you see that?
Good video but these bikes are ridiculous nowadays, air filter should be a 5-minute job like it is on the 700.

Agreed, if you take that much off I would change the plugs at the same time.

couldn't some bright engineer devise a more accessible air filter?!
thats why mechanics hate engineers
what the ?? there's no need to remove tank or ecu ,just extra work
Soow , you have to remove 132000000 bolts to change an airfilter wich costs 10€ ! In the yamaha shop this will cost you 150€ on man hours
