Interestingly here in the UK, we don't have a service manual for the Tracer 9 GT it is all digital when you go to the Dealer you just get the handbook.
If you politely email yamaha Europe they will send you a download link for the service manual totally free. I was researching the tracer 7 and asked what the part number was and where I could get it and voilà, a link
@@ozzi2122Hi, just to let you know. Here in the UK, you can carry out your own service without invalidating your warranty. You will need to use genuine parts, keep the receipts and pictures and follow the periodic maintenance for the mileage. Always check though. I have been servicing my own motorcycles for decades and have never had a problem and have never needed to claim on my warranty. To many people are anal about having a dealer stamp on their service book for some reason. It doesn’t mean that the dealer serviced your bike property when they had it all day and charged you a fortune. Most jobs are quite straightforward and easy once you know how.

Not sure why you’ve assumed otherwise and, believe me, servicing your own bike within the warranty period will potentially invalidate any warranty claims. Service your bike at your own discretion, we are all adults but you run the risk. Waving an oil receipt at your dealership proves nothing.
I noticed that these adventure bike make the oil very watery very fast, within about that range 600mi,,,,,, compared to a v-twin, Kawasaki for example after 3,000mi the oil is still red and still looks good, even though 3,000mi is enough and time for an oil change. Now on this type of bike 3,000 miles and your oil looks brown and like pis.
@@scotcopeland8752 My bad, I misread the description wording "video" on second T9 part. I changed my oil at 600 miles and everything was normal. I'm coming up on 4000 miles and I'm liking the bike.
Great video, the lean is awesome to get that extra oil out, thanks for that tip. I noticed the oil was very dark coming in from the dealer and seems over filled; was this the same experience?
I really like the lean idea, never thought that much oil would come out after leaning the bike.
Yeah. It varies from bike to bike, depending on the design. Even more oil came out of my CB1100.

Does doing it yourself not invalidate the warranty?
No, not in the U.S. But I did document the materials used and kept receipts in case push came to shove.
It would in the UK. There are a whole host of other checks that need to be conducted at 600 miles for the warranty to remain in place.

Yes, always. The Yamaha filter comes pre-lubricated.

Where the all excessive oil coming from when you lean the bike?
Mostly the head and sides of the case.
So basically you can also lean the bike right after you stop the engine, when the oil is still warm and fluid.
Curious why the second T9GT? First one with issues?
No, I just have, and have had, the one 2022 Tracer.

@@r0bv123 Cool. I'm at 3200 mi. and just switched to Amsoil. The shifting and clutch feel improved noticeably.
