- Welcome back to the channel! We know that it's been a while since you've seen our pretty faces. But we are back with a new build series! We picked this boat up for a few hundred bucks and a bottle of whiskey. Can we bring this boat back to its former glory? Tune in to find out. On episode one, we are pulling the motors to assess why the boat won't start.

I am (was) the original owner of Dink a Doo I. Unfortunately it met its demise when I tried to jump Niagara Falls. The Maid of the Mist tour boat was in my planned landing area causing me to alter my course and impact the rocks, hard. Dink a Doo died that day

Need some portable shop lights for working in the engine bay and under the boat. A little difficult to make out what is going on. Had an LS2000 Yamaha that I loved. Similar era and style to this boat.
I forgot to mention, glad you guys are working on a project like this. It may help me decide if I want to tackle something like it in the future. Thanks!

Thanks for all your video you sharing. I just got my self an exact boat except it green. It my first jet-boat and also first ever 2 cycle engine going to work on. Gonna give it an extreme make over. From mechanical to repaint. I watched some of your video I already learn so much. Thank you

Nice project! I just whipped a '98 Speedster into shape for a guy that just bought it. Previous owner left loose bolts, cooling lines on back of heads both backwards, C'clips not seated in either driveshaft, crapped up carbs, etc. Same twin 787 setup and it ran out great after I finished.
My brother and I just bought a Challenger 1800 last weekend that needs a good bit of work. I'm pretty excited to follow along with this series.

Picked up a 1997 Challenger 1800 and am restoring it. So far I rebuilt both engines and carbs. The pumps are next. Seems like I can't find one usable part on this entire boat. Watching your videos have helped a bunch. Working in the engine department is no joke, wife shut the garage door and turned the radio up so our neighbors wont hear me cussing.😖

I love your videos and they have helped me learn so much for my new project. I just acquired a 2001 challenger. This is my first boat and I have been watching all of your videos. I was wondering how to tell which challenger I have. Also I plan to go through the motors completely and do them right, considering the things I see are completely done wrong. Thanks again for all the helpful info.

How did you guys get the propeller shaft disconnected from the motor to remove the motor?
Sweet boat. I wonder if you could swap in the 951 engines like on the xp’s?
