    I'm impressed , the sewing skills, electrical and mechanical knowledge,. Well done, definitely would only have been worth it as a DIY project.

    You made it look easy. what a great job and from a guy that realizes that was a lot of work

    Bought one for $500 but both engines needed a rebuild. The hull itself is in great condition and the interior isn’t too bad. Currently Finishing up engines then I’ll replace the wear rings. Hopefully it’ll be good to go after that.

    I have the same boat with fantastic interior in green and new hydromat. Bought it 2yrs ago with a 1500w stereo and subwoofer and wake tower. Got it for $6500 and have put another $2500 into carb rebuilds (twice), some minor fiberglass work, and wear rings. Still will not fully plane out on the water. Too much gap even with new wear rings so I'll have new impellers installed before summer.

      if the wear rings rub its due to motor alignment, but this cures itself much easier if you pull the plugs and turn it over for 15 secs or so. after alignment. If it still doesn't plane out a and there no water in hull check compression. Best of luck!

    What is the tach model number? Do you know what to replace the speedo and gas guages with for a 2003 challenger 1800 with the Mercury 240 HP? Thanks

      @EngineInformant  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tach amzn.to/3SMaSSt
      As far as speedometer I would use the GPS unit like this one not sure the size is the same though you want to double check that amzn.to/3wqWQyc
      I don't know what to tell you about the gas gauge but if it's not working these typically fix those amzn.to/3SQBNws

    Very impressive rebuild. That thing was a mess lol.
    I just bought one of these in beautiful condition last August for $3,800. Sounds too good to be true? Kind of. Turns out I have the famous oil seeping into the cylinder problem on the driver side engine. For now I just put a shut off valve for the oil. I'll probably rebuild the engine in the fall. I'll probably just take it apart and reseal everything. Compression on both engines is between 153 and 155. I got to use the boat twice last August and actually did run beautifully. But other than that the boat is beautiful. New upholstery sound system. Bimini top looks like it was never unzipped.

      Hello took me a while to find same boat owners, The oil you say that seeping, is it from the above oil reservoir? I finally installed a shut off valve hopefully that works because I feel like when it’s in storage that oil is just pushing down on both engines by gravity. Mother question is does your boat passenger side engine smoke more than the driver side?

    So how did you make out with the boat anyways? I've been seeing them around me in Illinois going for about 8 to 10,000.

    These guys in this TH-cam video, I actually saw the boat for sale and sold on Facebook marketplace for $13,500. But that boat was totally rebuilt from the ground up.

      these boats in good shape like the one you saw us build yield around 8-10k depending on overall condition. Anything over that for a 2 stroke is foolish in my opinion. Because most of these boats run redline 80% of the time life isnt like a land 2 stroke

      @@EngineInformant I think these boats can last a long time with the proper maintenance. Last year I had a speedster. I measured the compression when I first bought it was around 145 psi. We used it heavily last summer. Not really stopping much. Lots of driving around and tubing. Took it out 20 times at 10 different lakes in Wisconsin. I made sure the oilers were set up correctly and only used synthetic oil. I sold it about a month ago and I measured the compression again before I sold it. Was pretty much the same.

      @@Thirdplace4life the 787 will last roughly 170 hours and 720 just over 200

      @@EngineInformant I don't know how accurate those numbers are but like I said I took that speedster out last summer 20 times for pretty much all day. We stopped occasionally to pee. Maybe we'd stop for about an hour to eat lunch. But most of the day was tubing or hauling ass. And we went to some pretty big lakes like Castle Rock, Petenwell, and koshkonong. I would drive around the entire lake following the shoreline sometimes twice. Petenwell took almost the whole day to drive completely around. So roughly 8x20=160 hours. You're trying to tell me those engines were pretty much done? They sure didn't feel like it. And based on the compression didn't look like it either.

      @@EngineInformant if you're getting this information from Google then it's more like a guideline. I would call them More like "moron hours". Lol. Your typical person that's not really doing preventative maintenance. Doesn't do any repairs until something actually happens. Or even if something happens and it's still usable they still just use it like that. If you Google how long a riding mower lasts, it says 500-700 hours. I have a 2003 John Deere riding mower with 2000 hours and still going strong.
