I think you can call that train suitably period. The wagon was first released in 1979 and the loco and wagons are all in the 1979 Hornby catalogue. I had the catalogue when new and found another copy on eBay and it's amazing that I remember every item in it!

Some absolutely gorgeous locomotives on one or two stalls!! In the old days - 60s and 70s - the trains sounded nearly prototypical because of ‘chuffed’ modules.
I had a Hornby Princess Elizabeth with the smoke module and chuffing simulator in the tender many years ago. We filmed an exhibition in Colne last weekend and I treated myself to an old Wrenn West Country Pacific I have wanted for 40 years! That vid should be out next Saturday. Thanks for watching.

@@wellchuffedrailways I quite often go to fairs and frequently take my wife, I like the format of yours being the camera person and you being mic'ed up, just need the courage to be "on camera" lol!
After a bit you forget the camera is on. We both take a camera and use what turns out best which is very little! The next video should feature us both on camera as my wife gives a different perspective on things which should give the video more variety.
Another nice bargain hunt. At least you got a nice goods truck. There’s no point buying what you don’t need. You may pick up half a dozen at another one, so you did well not to spend all your spare cash. Some have mentioned (maybe a little bluntly) about your filming technique. Hey, they are lucky to get to visit the show without lifting a finger! I understand that you are on a learning curve; and every one has to start somewhere. You are brave and kind enough to bring us all a little of your experiences; and I, for one, am grateful for that. However, that said, if you move your camera more slowly along the exhibits it would give a better result for viewers. It’s a common problem with newer camera operators, so don’t worry. A little practice will soon improve your video results. Another suggestion is to focus on interesting items and hold the camera still for 5 or 10 seconds. This allows viewers to freeze the shot to get a good look at the item. I am sure that you will make even better videos with a little more practice, but I am happy with how you are doing things now. You are a great team. Stay safe and look after each other.
Hi Arthur and thanks once again for your comment. I have a list of what I want (a very long one) and try to stick to it although I can sometimes get sidetracked! Camera work can be a bit tricky sometimes but we are getting better and watching the footage after is helpful. It can be awkward filming in public whilst both shopping and talking but the more we do it is becoming easier. You are quite right with your comment about focusing on the more interesting items. We will put all this feedback to use next time we attend a fair. I find them more enjoyable and easier to film than exhibitions as they are more open and focusing on moving trains can be tricky. Much appreciated as feedback is valuable and better than just a dislike! We only do this for fun at the weekends as we both work full time. (It's lunch!) 1.49 into the video, there’s a Hornby dublo duchess of atholl with yellow nameplates which are very rare to find. I bet the seller doesn’t even know!
