    Nice to see a real video about real items, what is the most accurate class 50 and as I grew up in Croydon what is the most accurate epb I have no layout just a static shelf

      Hi, I'm guessing the Accurascale 50 or new Hornby one are as good as anything. To be honest I've not looked at them in detail and the Southern EPB is not on my radar. Now you have asked I will look out for 50s from these manufacturers in coming vids. I have two Lima 50s and these are not even Limas best models right down to their underside bogies although some people swap them out for 37 ones. Thanks for watching Rick

    From the set at 10:09 , not a diesel but Triangs first electric main line locomotive with operating pantographs. R.257 from about 1958..
    Unlike most of today's models of electric locomotives, these pantographs actually work and could be switched to be powered by the Triang catenary system and so have the option of two locomotives on the same track under independent control. Later on they made the EM2 and AL1 with the same features.
    Although Triang did cut corners and convert the blue and yellow R.159 doubled ended diesel , inspired by the Victorian Railways B class , to an electric locomotive by adding a new roof section with pantographs. Thus getting close to overseas electric locomotives like the Victorian Railways L class 2,500 HP electric locomotive. Both Australian.
    Oscar Paisley has a few vids of the R.257 working well under catenary.

    Hello Pauline and Rick, you reminded me of my childhood days with the Triang Intercontinental blue coaches. I had it in blue, with the diesel and four or five coaches, including the observation car in your video and one with an observation area in the roof. Also in the background you had a RAF air sea rescue boat, I had that as well. Harry

    Hello Rick and Pauline - interesting watching thankyou. I got the name and contact for the trader Allan James - thankyou. Would it be possible sometime to get the contact for the guy/gal who sells the yellow box Tri-ang TT stuff. Maybe when you see him/her at another show.
    All the stuff at these shows seems generally clean, not dusty and well presented.
    Would you say that is correct?

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, most of the stuff is tested and there are opportunities to see stuff running but obviously I can't comment on individual items. I'm not sure which seller you mean, a lot of the sellers at fairs do it as a hobby so don't always have details we can give out. The only way I can pass these on is if you join our Facebook group and send me a direct message. I'm sure you understand that not everybody wants their personal numbers on TH-cam. All the best Rick

    The Hornby V Tanker with Hornby Collector Exclusive at 6.22 was the free model which was part of the collectors club membership, can't remember which year. This was probably why it was quite plain.

    Great bargains again, happy for you you found a high listed wanted diesel loco.👍
    Did some bargains yesterday and this morning on a curtain internet market site.
    Anyway, problem with online buying is, you see a nice good wagon bargain for let say 4£, but then comes the spoiler, an extra shipping fee of 4£ and gone is your bargain isn't it?
    Therefor if you can buy it in bulk, or several with the same seller and one shipment that's the only way I can make a bargain on the net.
    That why you are so fortunate to buy direct without any shipping fees.
    And buying newly productions, they have become completely mad 35£ for a plank wagon😱, and still people buy them, I guess it's like smoking, no matter how expensive you make it, the addicted keep on buying them…
    Do you ever buy new stuff or put up a pre order?
    Cheers,
    Danny

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Danny, yes that's the problem isn't it. You could apply the same logic to fairs as there is an entrance fee of £3 but no one goes just to pick up 1 wagon! Of course one always haggles on the price which you can't do at the bay. I've never pre-ordered as there is nothing I have wanted enough to do that for. Happy hunting Rick

    Once again, you find a great show and lots of kit to get me wondering. I loved the large Rheingold you found. I did not see which company made it. It looked 1 scale. I have the exact same loco, but in HO, which made me wonder if it was Märklin. Oh well... another question, which is very similar to one I have asked before. Do you have a checklist of things you hope to find, or just look around and see what catches your fancies? I always had a checklist of things I was looking for, because it helped me focus on those things, but it also meant I sometimes missed some cool things because I was focused on specifics. Anyhow, thanks for the show and take care!

      @wellchuffedrailways  ปีที่แล้ว

    I needed to know why they don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and include the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly Line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street can they also make another brand new underground train station in Chingford and could they extend the Piccadilly Line and the DLR right up to Chingford? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and can they order Every 67 Octagon and Every 37 Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique small no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 147MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 147MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units, can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 18 Tonnes for all of those 147MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are told!!!!! And Please do something about these very very important Professional ideas Please? Prime Minister of England, Prime Minister of Australia, Prime Minister of Sweden, Prime Minister of Germany, Prime Minister of Italy, Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.

    1:55 Lima Class 33 with euro couplers
    5:02 That's a F7 (or basically any other early F-Unit)
    5:51Early Jouef CIWL cars, these were a lot better compared to the Lima ones available at that time. These are not UK profile, as those cars were returned by ferry after delivering their passengers.
    6:20 Seriously....
    9:50 Beautiful set
    12:37 That is more like regular shop price levels
    15:50 Take a look at a Piko V200 reviiew, the same trick is still done today
    25:42 Fleischmann tinplate, a quite early one (non-removable couplings). They make a very distinctive sound when you keep the plastic wheels and have a full rake of them.
    27:12 Any indication of the price for that? these are terribly expensive for a model that can only be driven if you setup the tracks in a sports complex or garden

      I don't think these fairs are the bargain basements they once were. In fact sometimes the second hand prices are a lot higher than new prices they have become collectors fairs. It not just fairs but Internet auction sites are just has bad. Second hand used to be a good way to start but now it's better to buy new as there is next to no savings to be made.

    I think you paid over the odds for the Hornby 47. It's an incredibly poor model and the Lima one's which are far far better can be picked up for between £25-£35 quite easily. (I've bought about 50 in that price range since Covid, including plenty of limited editions). Although I grant you that it had some kind of sentimental value for you.
