Yes, somebody should have let him know, I think everyone was a little confused. He had already done a few burnouts I think most people just figured it was a one wheel peel.

For anyone who doesn't understand what's going on here:
He was trying to do a burnout by feathering the clutch (not fully releasing it) and/or giving it a combination of too much gas and too much brake at the same time. This makes it so the clutch has a much more difficult time getting the tires to spin, and instead causes the clutch itself to rub against the flywheel. Clutch material is extremely abrasive, which causes lots of friction, and thus lots of heat. By the time he hit red line it didn't matter if his clutch was fully released, because the clutch was hot enough that the friction was way too low to properly engage it to the flywheel. Rather it just spun and spun until it overheated, cracked, and shattered causing it to essentially explode. Those chunks of metal laying on the pavement are pieces of the clutch.
He does not know how brakes works. The entire video he applied brakes. He still did not release the brakes when clutch was released.

He actually was doing a burnout. The tires were spinning faster than the speed of light which created an anomaly causing us to not see them spinning. The sparks from under the hood were caused intentionally to entertain people. This entire time he had the situation under control.

Transmission was fine. Tires started spinning AFTER the explotion. Engine still sounds good after the deal. I suspect the clutch blew apart, replace it and be happy. Well probably the bellhousing took a beating to let those glowing red parts out.

A clutch that thing would be driving within a day, I’ve done this on purpose before just to see what would happen, a little different as the clutch was slipping so bad you could hardly drive it, but I purposely made it explode like this lol. Took a day to replace the clutch and it was completely fine. I’ve done and seen enough clutch failures to know this is no big deal lol couple hundred dollars some beers and a afternoon worth of work this thing would be 👍

Doesn't hurt to look down at the speedo after you dump the clutch, just to make sure. If both needles are on the opposite pegs, then you've got issues...
Not a good indicator as some wheel speed sensors are based off the front wheels and not a sensor in the rear or the trans.

There was, at no point, anyone else at fault for this than the driver. Both my cars lack a muffler, and one has highflow cats. I don't care how loud your car is, or how in the moment you are, you should be able to TELL when you are doing a burnout.

I had a buddy buy a supra back around 2000. He brought it by my work and tries to do a burnout. Sat there and smoked the clutch just like this kid. We called him a tool bag because he was more than just a tool. He was a whole bag of tools.

Damn I have yet to experience that. We do meets and cruises all year without issue. It's pretty common we work on each other's cars, pile into a friends car for the show if your car isn't done in time. It's not the car meet that's toxic. It's the people attending
Car meets tend to be pretty chill as far as I've seen. Seems to be a load of guys here to enjoy the cars. Nobody's here to break your car, if you get egged on to do a burnout, do it or don't it's ur decision, blow up your clutch, it's your fault, these guys are recording for the fun of showing other people the cars they've seen at the show, no need to think everyone's an asshole, people tend to be pretty chill

That’s why I started going to actual local car shows. The Dairy Queen in a town near me hosts one in the parking lot once a month,there’s a lot of kids with Honda’s and a lot of older guys with classics as well
