My favorite stage fatality is, and always will be, the Living Forest 2011 stage fatality. Mortal Kombat II was the first game I ever played as a child, and when I first came across the Living Forest in MK II on the SNES, it absolutely terrified me. This was back before the Internet really got up to speed so I’d heard the rumors that you could uppercut someone into the mouths of any of the trees and honestly believed them, so I did NOT want to be scarred by that mental imagery. Fast forward more than 20 years later and I’m not ashamed to admit that I genuinely get upset when the Living Forest is not included in a Mortal Kombat title, and that screen on the MK11 Retrocade stage doesn’t count in my book. I hope that it comes back fully realized again in the next MK game.
I tried for weeks to discover the "secret" of the living forest stage fatality when it hit consoles as that was one of the biggest rumors that persisted for the entire life cycle of MK2. I think the rumors that were probably just as well known were that you could impale the opponent on the hooks in the Deadpool and that Sub Zero had a secret fatality where he turns into a polar bear and rips you apart. Mortal Kombat 11 have so great Arenas for Stage Fatality's Like :Kharon's Ship , Koliseum Beast Pen, Lost Hive of the Kytinn..... I just hope in MK 12 there be more stage fats :)
I never thought of the Deception and Armageddon ones as traps, so I was expecting to see them on here. I'm glad they will get their own lists later then, especially Deception's cause that was just another thing I loved about that game. I always loved the Subway, I just thought it was funny as hell. Especially the way their body is thrown when the subway hits them lol. I did like the Kratos stage where you could choose how to finish your opponent off, they should of had more stage fatalities like that. MK2's Dead Pool (Which I always called the Acid Pool) has always been my favorite stage fatality, always been cool and classic. I always loved that "Oh-wah" sound after the skeleton comes out of the acid too lol. I agree the updated versions of it are great, I guess nostalgia always wins out for me though. I'm surprised the MK2 pit was #2, I always remembered people saying the opponent just falling on concrete was too boring and simple compared to the other stage fatalities. That was never one of my favorites, but to each their own. I kind of like the arcade stage fatality, but I don't think it should be #1. Out of the top 3, I think the Dead Pool from MK11 should of been #1, it's more brutal and better than the two put above it IMO. Still enjoyed this list despite that, and I hope chop chop means Baraka is up next.

Comment on the Kove Stage Fatality: I really liked that finisher, although I consider than beheading the oponent is downpoint on that one. I think it would be scarier if the enemy just disappeared into the depth still struggling for their life. Maybe just a severed arm after that, but nothing else. Loved the video, Nick! For me, the original MK1 pit will always be the absolute best of the best. So simple, so brutal, and shocking when you first see it. I remember playing MK in the arcade as a kid, and I always ended matches with an uppercut (I didn't even know fatalities existed). I win the match on the pit, uppercut, and.... holy s***! I loved that it could be done from anywhere on the screen, that there was different gore at the bottom depending on where it was done. That's the beauty of it being a large stage in the old game - the entire area is part of it. I simply do not like the mk1/mk2 hybrid pit of the new era generation. The fact that it just becomes a cinematic takes away the fun of it
I liked mk deception version of the pit, where the ground breaks and you can both fall of if you stand too close to the edge. I also loved the one where you could punch them off the map into a bunch of lasers. I forgot which one that was.

By the way: I particularly prefer MK Trilogy's version of the Pit I stage fatality over the original MK1 one; in MKT they reused the Bell Tower spikes animation thus it actually feels like the opponent gets impaled, whereas in MK1 they just fall onto the floor like there were no spikes on it.
Meh! Trilogy version felt weak, come to think of it, almost all the stage fatalities for MK trilogy felt weak, and why they didn't bring back the pit 2 stage fatality is beyond me!

This was a great list, and it's kool to see somebody ranking the stage fatalities in such detail. I also learned a thing or two from this list, and I considered myself something of an expert on the franchise at this point, so I give some serious praise to you, Nick! I had no idea the Temple and Arcade stages in MK11 had stage fatalities, and they turned out to be pretty sweet. As for the ones that I'd already known about, I've honestly never been all that big a fan of The Pit II. The cinematic aspect is pretty cool and all, but the end result was always lacking to me, as nothing really happens to the unfortunate opponent. They just hit the ground and that's it. No gore or anything. They just land. Also, I think the MKX/XL take on the original Pit is, by far, the best of its 3D versions. I love that they hit the pillar on the way down and I thought it was about time that they had included that. The landing is wicked as well. As for the Pit III, my one and only qualm with it was that I felt it could have used another exact duplicate line of the churning blades, but moved over a bit so as to fill the empty spaces in the first line. It would have looked gnarlier that way. That being said, my top 5 favorites are as follows: 5. The Kombat Tomb (MKII) - such a great finish, and as with some other finishes in the game, it had a cool extra animation you could trigger if you pressed a well-timed button combination. 4. The Arcade (MK11) - not only my second favorite stage in the history of the franchise, but also an homage to all the klassic arcade cabinet fatalities/friendships from the original 5 2D games. 3. The Deadpool (all versions) - the acid bath is such a fantastic finish in all of its guises throughout the years. 2. The Kove (MKX/XL) - oh this one messed me up the first time I saw it. Just the thought of being dragged off to the depths by an unseen leviathan puts a chill in the bones. 1. The Pit I - the most iconic stage in the franchise, and also my favorite even beyond the fatality it houses (MK1 version; not just a fatality, but the gateway to the genre's first secret character, and was also 2 fighting stages in one / MK Trilogy version; everything the original was, but with a better landing animation for the fatality) / MKX/XL version; finally uses those gnarly pillars).
I quite like the goofy clock tower one where you fall through a hundred floors, it's even funnier when you wonder "wait, why does this clock tower in the middle of an earth realm city just have hundreds of spikes?" It makes sense on Shang Tsungs island and outworld, but it's absurd in the real world.
Thanks for another great video with sharp editing and fun, friendly commentary! Your list is much different than mine, which kept me on my tippy toes. I'd say my top three (super hard to rank, you're right) would be MK3 Belltower, MK2 Pit, and MK4 fan. My least faves would be MK3 Neatherrealm stage, MK11 arcade (sorry!), and most certainly the MKX refuge stage (freaking yikes). Can't wait for more content!
One thing I love with the Cove stage finisher in MKX, is that with other characters, their head will follow the monster attacking. But if you play as Kenshi, he won't

Like you’d be talking about a finisher in a certain stage but seemed like you were still rolling footage of the finisher before? Just seemed weird and a lot of the time it didn’t seem like the dialogue matched the footage. Anyway Im now subscribed and looking forward to more content

Here’s my ranking of the *Mortal Kombat* stage fatalities! There’s a lot so this will be a long one: 1. Living Forest (MK9) • I love this so much. The stage is great and deserved a finisher. Those terrifying trees got some use! 2. Dead Pool (MK9) • What sets this one apart for me was the terror and panic the victim experiences as they helplessly splash around. Easily the best version of this iconic stage 3. Subway (MK9) • This is just hilariously cruel. This is my head canon for how Stryker really beat Ermac 😆 4. Dead Pool (MK11) • This one is cool take on the stage finally using the hooks. Buuuut I don’t really care for the gagging on the hook. If the victim was simply placed on there then it would’ve been better 5. The Pit (MKX) • This and the other two were so close but then I remembered how much I laughed at the arm smacking the victim’s body on the way down. That’s how you make an extra step work. 6. Hell (MK9) • There’s some hate in this lol. Watching the opponent try to lift themselves up with molten rock leaking from their eye sockets? Then the stomp on the head. Great! 7. The Pit (MK9) • I love how swift this one is. It’s so brutal and quick. I love these types! 8. Shaolin Trap Dungeon (MK11) • I quite like this one. There is some missed opportunity though which adds to my hatred of guests. I know, sounds unrelated, but hear me out. What if this stage had a similar mechanic to the Chamber of the Flame stage? NRS puts more love and care into stupid unnecessary guests than their own property and it infuriates me 9. The Pit III (MK3) • The best of the klassic pit stages. It’s a shame we never see this one again. Or the first one for that matter. The Pit II has basically been quietly retconned to be the only Pit. 10. The Street (MK9) • This is goofy but in a good way. I especially like this one on Outworlders. From what we’ve seen they don’t have cars and stuff so it’s funny seeing a character like Baraka or Reptile get hit by a speeding car. Lmao welcome to Earthrealm 😆 11. The Kove (MKX) • This one took me by surprise. I didn’t expect a kraken to appear lol. When I first saw this one, I was just testing out all the stages once stage fatalities were added. I didn’t know this was in the game before then 12. Dead Pool (MK2) • this one is nice. The additions 9 added made this inferior but I still love this klassic! 13. The Pit I (MK1) • This one is just a thing of beauty. It’s simple, quick, to the point. 14. Subway (MK3) • This one is great but similar to Dead Pool and the Pit, 9 added more to it. Again tho, I love this klassic. 15. Scorpion’s Lair (MK3) • This one may be simple, even a little too much so, but I like it. Its like they’re there then they are no more. That’s it. They become nothing. 16. Bell Tower (MK3) • Not too big on this one but it’s fine. Idk why a bell tower has spikes at the bottom but whatever lol. The falling through multiple stories is funny tho. 17. The Pit II (MK2) • This one is just weak to me. It’s no wonder this stage stole its predecessor’s fatality in later versions. Makes sense I guess. The best looking Pit aesthetically combined with the cool and terrifying bottom of the original Pit? Sure I can accept it. 18. Tekunin Warship (MKA) • This is ok. At this point it’s probably obvious that I’m not feeling these bottom ones at all 19. Prison (MK4) • This is silly and looks kind of dumb. 20. Bell Tower (MKA) • This one is weird to me. Maybe if it was faster I’d like it more. How’d the limbs get sliced moving that slow? 21. Kombat Tomb (MK2) 22. Goro’s Lair (MK4) • these two can go together. Not a fan of the uppercut into spikes. It’s ok in Sub’s brutality I guess but here idk. 23. Tournament (MK11) • This one just looks dumb. I get it reference to one of Liu Kang’s klassics but I really don’t care for it. Why’d this stage get a finisher and the one with the DINOSAUR! A better one would have at least been to throw the opponent into the crowd and they get torn apart like what happened to that guy in that one Rick and Morty episode about the heists. At least that would be goofy in a more fun way 24. Refugee Kamp (MKX) • I hate this one. Aside from just being Jax’s MKvsDCU fatality, this one just exemplifies the issue the series had at this time. Too much Special Forces!

After thinking about it I think my favourite would have to be the 2011 Mortal kombat remake of the dead pool stage. I also like the cove in Mortal kombat X. My favorite stage fatalities are (top 5) : 1: MK2 the pit ( Always love to send my victim there) 2: Deadpool MK11 ( My favorite of the three stage fatality) 3: the street stage fatality in MK 9 ( just for the taxi Xray decapitation) 4: MK1 the pit stage( yeah I'm a fan of this stage) 5: Subway MK9 ( I like how it start before he send his victim through the other side)
When I think of stage finishers I always think of these 3 first. The uppercut on the bridge(the pit), the train and the spiky logs and crush you from Armageddon
You should mix up the content between reveals. Watching the subzero and liu kang fight became very repetitive and tiresome. When you talked about a different stage , I assumed you would show a clip of a fight on said stage. Just some friendly suggestions for your content. I like what youre doing though.

Deception didn’t only have traps. Deception had stage fatalities as well. They were unjustly left off this list. Considering Deception is the best MK game ever, it’s disappointing to not see them included in this list.
the filter you use kinda hurts to look at. i get why youd use it, but no red in a Mortal Kombat game is upsetting :/. love the new intro tho, the old music felt very outdated, the new one goes hard

I definitely had some personal disagreements with ur list, but the 2 that really shocked me were ur number 1 pick, which I thought should be near the bottom, not the top, but also your number 12! That seemed to have everything u were looking for, and it was only at the halfway point. The basically same thing but without the amazing spike collision on the way down, made it was higher in ur list. Lol Sometimes I just can’t understand your picks at all

If you're wondering why Deadly Alliance doesn't have stage fatalities, that is because Midway didn't give the MK team enough time to program them.
That does sound right. The team also focused their priority on making the conquest mode too.

The pit from mk2 should be number one, awesome animation and the great splat with the concrete breaking. It's a legendary classic.

New subscriber, like the video man. As a little bit of constructive criticism I found it kind of confusing and hard to follow which clip you were talking about. Like you’d be talking about a finisher in a certain stage but seemed like you were still rolling footage of the finisher before? Just seemed weird and a lot of the time it didn’t seem like the dialogue matched the footage. Anyway Im now subscribed and looking forward to more content

Here’s my ranking of the *Mortal Kombat* stage fatalities! There’s a lot so this will be a long one:
1. Living Forest (MK9)
• I love this so much. The stage is great and deserved a finisher. Those terrifying trees got some use!
2. Dead Pool (MK9)
• What sets this one apart for me was the terror and panic the victim experiences as they helplessly splash around. Easily the best version of this iconic stage
3. Subway (MK9)
• This is just hilariously cruel. This is my head canon for how Stryker really beat Ermac 😆
4. Dead Pool (MK11)
• This one is cool take on the stage finally using the hooks. Buuuut I don’t really care for the gagging on the hook. If the victim was simply placed on there then it would’ve been better
5. The Pit (MKX)
• This and the other two were so close but then I remembered how much I laughed at the arm smacking the victim’s body on the way down. That’s how you make an extra step work.
6. Hell (MK9)
• There’s some hate in this lol. Watching the opponent try to lift themselves up with molten rock leaking from their eye sockets? Then the stomp on the head. Great!
7. The Pit (MK9)
• I love how swift this one is. It’s so brutal and quick. I love these types!
8. Shaolin Trap Dungeon (MK11)
• I quite like this one. There is some missed opportunity though which adds to my hatred of guests. I know, sounds unrelated, but hear me out. What if this stage had a similar mechanic to the Chamber of the Flame stage? NRS puts more love and care into stupid unnecessary guests than their own property and it infuriates me
9. The Pit III (MK3)
• The best of the klassic pit stages. It’s a shame we never see this one again. Or the first one for that matter. The Pit II has basically been quietly retconned to be the only Pit.
10. The Street (MK9)
• This is goofy but in a good way. I especially like this one on Outworlders. From what we’ve seen they don’t have cars and stuff so it’s funny seeing a character like Baraka or Reptile get hit by a speeding car. Lmao welcome to Earthrealm 😆
11. The Kove (MKX)
• This one took me by surprise. I didn’t expect a kraken to appear lol. When I first saw this one, I was just testing out all the stages once stage fatalities were added. I didn’t know this was in the game before then
12. Dead Pool (MK2)
• this one is nice. The additions 9 added made this inferior but I still love this klassic!
13. The Pit I (MK1)
• This one is just a thing of beauty. It’s simple, quick, to the point.
14. Subway (MK3)
• This one is great but similar to Dead Pool and the Pit, 9 added more to it. Again tho, I love this klassic.
15. Scorpion’s Lair (MK3)
• This one may be simple, even a little too much so, but I like it. Its like they’re there then they are no more. That’s it. They become nothing.
16. Bell Tower (MK3)
• Not too big on this one but it’s fine. Idk why a bell tower has spikes at the bottom but whatever lol. The falling through multiple stories is funny tho.
17. The Pit II (MK2)
• This one is just weak to me. It’s no wonder this stage stole its predecessor’s fatality in later versions. Makes sense I guess. The best looking Pit aesthetically combined with the cool and terrifying bottom of the original Pit? Sure I can accept it.
18. Tekunin Warship (MKA)
• This is ok. At this point it’s probably obvious that I’m not feeling these bottom ones at all
19. Prison (MK4)
• This is silly and looks kind of dumb.
20. Bell Tower (MKA)
• This one is weird to me. Maybe if it was faster I’d like it more. How’d the limbs get sliced moving that slow?
21. Kombat Tomb (MK2)
22. Goro’s Lair (MK4)
• these two can go together. Not a fan of the uppercut into spikes. It’s ok in Sub’s brutality I guess but here idk.
23. Tournament (MK11)
• This one just looks dumb. I get it reference to one of Liu Kang’s klassics but I really don’t care for it. Why’d this stage get a finisher and the one with the DINOSAUR! A better one would have at least been to throw the opponent into the crowd and they get torn apart like what happened to that guy in that one Rick and Morty episode about the heists. At least that would be goofy in a more fun way
24. Refugee Kamp (MKX)
• I hate this one. Aside from just being Jax’s MKvsDCU fatality, this one just exemplifies the issue the series had at this time. Too much Special Forces!
Finally someone who isn't praising the boring Pit 2, I didn't understand it's placement (and I mostly agree with your list)

How come the fatality wording and other stuff is purple?
It’s the color filter used to remove the red color, which is specifically used for the blood. It’s to reduce the risk of age restrictions.

After thinking about it I think my favourite would have to be the 2011 Mortal kombat remake of the dead pool stage. I also like the cove in Mortal kombat X. Also, in my opinion, mkx tentacle stage fatality has to be the scariest one. Which I get fatalities are supposed to be more shocking than scary, this one does it for me.
My favorite stage fatalities are (top 5) : 1: MK2 the pit ( Always love to send my victim there) 2: Deadpool MK11 ( My favorite of the three stage fatality) 3: the street stage fatality in MK 9 ( just for the taxi Xray decapitation) 4: MK1 the pit stage( yeah I'm a fan of this stage) 5: Subway MK9 ( I like how it start before he send his victim through the other side)

The colors on some footage of the early mk's are weird. Purple gray blood? Everything that is red shows up purple ish.

When I think of stage finishers I always think of these 3 first. The uppercut on the bridge(the pit), the train and the spiky logs and crush you from Armageddon
The Genesis version of MK2 Pit is funnier because you can hear the loud bone crunch/splatter combo once the kombatant hits the jagged rocks 😂🤣😂🤣😂

You should mix up the content between reveals. Watching the subzero and liu kang fight became very repetitive and tiresome. When you talked about a different stage , I assumed you would show a clip of a fight on said stage. Just some friendly suggestions for your content. I like what youre doing though.

Deception didn’t only have traps. Deception had stage fatalities as well. They were unjustly left off this list. Considering Deception is the best MK game ever, it’s disappointing to not see them included in this list.
