      on my mic, the NW-700, it doesn't really pick up me typing on my keyboard, even when I am pounding my fist into it. (using Cherry Reds)

      I like my BM-8000 (Not the 800). Of course you can't easily replace the mic capsule on that one.But it does come with a "pop" filter that works a lot better than a windscreen.

    These mics were connected using a USB Soundcard that provides ~4.5v to the microphones. The only USB sound card that I know of that provides this amount of voltage is the SYBA STEREO USB SOUNDCARD (th-cam.com/video/-Q30b1h9G70/w-d-xo.html). If you are connecting the mic directly to your computer's mother board and achieving poor audio quality, this USB Soundcard should resolve your issue.

      +Michael Tenner What country? I wonder why it's so much.

    • @MichaelTennerMT
      @MichaelTennerMT 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Podcastage Czech Republic, I have spend past 4 hours looking for a good microphone to replace the monstrosity I have. I found Mc Crypt BM-700 for 60$. Maybe the producer or something like that.
      Half the mics you showcase and review are not sold here. Those that I could get from Amazon are twice the price because of EU shipping. Even from Germany I'd be paying massive shipping fees and they are the neighboring country. Makes me really bummed out that the only mics avaible widely are 120$ and more, which is more than I wish to spend right now and than there are those that cost 6$-10$ like mine which is Trust Starzz (really bad mic, but the only one that is not one of those talking sticks they sell for skype).

    • @VannyObe
      @VannyObe 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The BM-700. It's about $80 here though, so the SF-920 is looking like the cheaper option. Especially since I need at least 2 mics but I haven't given up the search just yet

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yeah. I understand that. It's a pretty good sounding mic for the price. Just make sure you have a way to hook up two 1/8" mics at the same time on your computer.

    Considering all the additional costs for the BM-700 and BM-800 like a phantom power adapter and a stand you could easily buy a blue snowball.

    Eh, the BM-800 definitely sound worth an extra $3-$4 based on the sound of your video. Frequency response is better, and I can definitely hear a difference. $29 or $33, so cheap may as well pay for the better frequency response aside from my own perception that the BM-800 sounded noticeably better. Maybe not a tremendous difference but $4 worth.

    So with the BM-700 only need the USB-Adapter to work properly? I do not need any special phantom power stuff?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MaxthonFan It depends on the USB adapter you get. If you get a USB adapter that is capable of providing 4.5 volts to the microphone (which is what mine provides), you should get a result similar to mine. If you get a usb adapter that provides less, you will get quieter audio. I have heard complaints that some people have received faulty USB adapters and I don't know what's causing the discrepancy in performance. You can check my video where I review 11 USB Soundcards to find out what the ranking is.

    The only difference beetween the BM 700 and BM 800 is just the capture direction?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jorge Santos I can't really tell much of a difference. There is a different body, and maybe different components inside, but you'll be fine with either.

    • @Jazeitonas
      @Jazeitonas 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Podcastage Okay man, thank you! I saw some people that bought the BM800 and inside it had an AA battery and dindt need an phantom power. Does yours have that AA battery or did u use a phatom power?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jorge Santos My bm800 didn't have a battery in it, and I plugged it in using a USB audio adapter. THink I talk about it in this video. That provides a few volts to the microphone and it works fine.

    • @Jazeitonas
      @Jazeitonas 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Podcastage Do you know what is the ideal voltage needed? In my computer I have a 230V 550W power source. Is that enough to plug it directly in my computer sound card with jack 3.5mm withou any phantom power?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think that voltage is going to your audio card. You could always try it and if it doesn't work well, order the card. The USB port provides 5v and it works for me. Phantom power is 48v though.

      I do not have a computer with a built in microphone input, so I can't confirm or deny that, but I can say that I have heard peoplee complain that it does not work that well without getting some voltage. You will need some power going to the microphone. I am using a USB adapter that provides 4.5 volts to get this quality. That's just my disclaimer to you.

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Riley. I had the same problem. I have a Mac with a single 3.5mm jack for headphone/mic. The USB adapter let's you plug in a microphone input and a headphone set as well.

    • @keyng9489
      @keyng9489 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Podcastage Awesome. So does this attachment also eliminate the need for phantom power altogether?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Riley Christensen If you're using the NW700 then it should work fine. I'm sure once you get into the really high end boutique condensers that cost thousands of dollars, this will not suffice, but for a $35 microphone, it seems to work perfectly fine without investing in a phantom power supply.

    Hi man, I'd want to know if you connected the Bm 700 to an audio interface with phantom power or it was connected directly to your pc? and, it's ISK bm700 or it's a clone. I hope you may anwser my question please because I want to buy that microphone.

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Cristian Ramírez I had it plugged into a USB Audio Adapter. It is linked in the video description and discussed in the video. It only costs $6. It is not a full 48V phantom power, but through the USB port, it provides 5 volts of power to the mic, improving the audio quality. I made a video on how to set it up. th-cam.com/video/-bq5qLrDkGQ/w-d-xo.html

  • @VWC318
    @VWC318 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +VWC318 The color may be different, because they have different color microphones, but the microphones linked are correctly linked to the microphones used in my videos.

    Hey, which do you think would be better for recording instruments with? The NW-700 (Condensor mic) - not reviewed in this video, or the BM-700 (Condensor mic)? Also, if you get the USB Audio Adapter then you can use it just like a USB mic? No interface needed whatsoever?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tyler Waite It is my understanding that the NW-700 & BM-700 are the same microphones. So either will work just fine.
      That's correct. The USB audio adapter basically makes your microphone a USB microphone. It provides 5v of power to the mic as well (which is necessary for a lot of these mics) Keep in mind, you can only plug in 3.5mm jacks to the USB adapter.

    • @tylerwaite4177
