  • Tacx Neo 2t disc removal and service. Vlog 449.
I have had my Tacx Neo 2t approximately 9 months, so it was due a check, clean and some fresh grease.
For those wanting to know which tool fits the ratchet ring----
It doesn't unfortunately. I thought it did at first. See this video from Tacx Faqx

I would like to build the ring nut tool by myself (have access to machine tools).
With the dimensions or even CAD data, the whole thing would be child's play. But of course they are not available anywhere ;-), after all Tacx would like to earn 70 bucks with the exchange of components. Instead of 2-4 coins for the direct bearing exchange. I guess I'll have to dismantle and measure the whole thing when I get the chance.

Wish I had the tools and skills to do that sort of thing. I did manage to buy a tool from some guy somewhere. I forget where now. Not needed it yet.

For the newbie tinkerers: What is the extractor tool (I think you said) you started to put on at the 7:40ish mark?

Łożyska są made in china, więc warto to zrobi i zastosować coś typu SKS, FAG czy jakieś inne markowe łożyska.

Hi Duncan. It's very nice to see your video, as there has been quite a stir related to the bearing ring nut for Neo 2T. In your video, you happened to have a bottom bracket tool that seemed to fit the ring nut. I went through all my bb tools, but I don't happen to own the one that you showed. Could you provide any additional details about this bottom bracket tool you located for removing the ring nut?
I would very much like to get my hands on one of those if you happen to have a part number or manufacturer.

@@DuncMcNutt did you actually try to remove the ring nut with this version of BBT? I agree that it fits into the space, but I don't see how this BBT can possibly remove this ring nut. I checked the BBT 22. When I get it into a position where it will fit in between the teeth of the ring nut, it slips over the ramps. It seems the only result will be rounding off the ramps so the ratchet is less effective.

@@DuncMcNutt we are all in this together, my friend. I was not meaning to challenge you. Believe me, I was over the moon when I saw your video because I have had quite a lot to say about this bearing situation, and desperately wanted your solution to work.
Let me make a brief video based on what I am seeing on my end, and send it your way.
Meanwhile, there are a few folks working toward a solution from various parts of the world, so hopefully by the time yours needs to be replaced, it will be a very quick online click to have it at your door without needing to interrupt the productions of the local engineers.
As soon as I have a known, working, good solution in my hand, I will certainly let you know as well. Together, we all make a better outcome for Neo owners, and I am really grateful for your effort. Cheers.

@@DuncMcNutt would you kindly have a look at this and let me know if you notice something similar? I would suggest that a functional tool will have a diameter closer to 40mm.

Hi! How did you manage to get the bearing kit out of the disc? I tried many times as per Garmin video tutorial but with nou use. I've got Tacx NEO 1! Thanks 1

Sorry, can’t really help there. I still haven’t actually changed the bearings yet. Haven’t had to. I think the fit on one video just tapped them out square didn’t he?

I cant get the sleeve (spacer) off at all behind the hub. any suggestions?

    • @svenbrode260
      @svenbrode260 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@DuncMcNutt I sent a video demonstrating this problem to Garmin today after an earlier phone discussion. The spacer is completely solidly fixed to the axle. Even with a gentle pull with a pliers it wont come off. In fact it appears to be sitting not completely flush on the disc/bearing body. I suspect this is the reason the freehub is offset by maybe half a millimetre outwards. This in turn causes some issues with the chain on the smallest ring due to the angulation in relation to crank set. All very odd. Thanks for quick reply !

@@DuncMcNutt I am aware of the tacxfaqx channel. Yes it is under warranty and only a few weeks old. It was sold as new but showed signs of use which the shop admitted as oversight and offered a discount. Once garmin confirms this is not right it goes back to the shop, hopefully for refund or exchange.

Did you use the Tacx Neo Gen1 disc extractor tool or the Neo 2T extractor tool. It looks like you used the Neo gen 1 tool. Is your extractor tool the one from ebay and also found here (www.thingiverse.com/thing:2748489)
