Body language analysis is pseudoscience and a demonstrably unreliable way to analyze human behavior in any kind of meaningful way. When it is discussed on this otherwise informative and fact-driven channel, it dilutes the quality of the content.
The arrogance that she projects is pure evil.
There are so many doctors like this, unfortunately. They assume they know better than the patients who are actually experiencing the pain in their own bodies. This lady is the worst.
@@whims6278 i have dealt with a couple of those doctors unfortunately. They don’t believe in you and then try to tell you it is all in your head, it really is demoralizing
What I find bizarre is that her "I know better than anyone" attitude has already cost her employer $2.5 million but she still insists she alone knows best and is never wrong.

She testified she is partners with Fifth Avenue Pediatrics, PA and still has privileges. I would not want my child to be anywhere near her.
This woman gives me chills...something about her & Cathy B give me a feeling that they should not be allowed to care for children. Especially, girls.

Omg! _Of_ _course_ _it_ _matters_ whether the psychiatrists and the psychologists agreed or not!! They are the ones who have the best knowledge and training on the matter in question! Really outrageous, irresponsible and indifferent! This woman should also be prosecuted personally.
I know, huh? It’s like a nephrologist saying it didn’t matter that 4 cardiologists diagnosed a patient with a heart attack! If the least qualified physician is the ONLY one with a dissenting opinion… My bet is on the other 4!

Yesterday, I watched the documentary Take Care of Maya. Sally Smith, and others involved in this corrupt 'kidnapping', need to be criminally prosecuted after this trial.
Sally Smith, very egotistical. She is the “expert” right, she knows best right? How dare anyone say otherwise and challenge her . This is how I see her and her personality. The jury doesn’t care for people like that, they want you to put your ego aside and speak truthfully. Dr. Smith comes off deceptive in probably half her testimony.

Just look this woman up. She has taken children from more families than anyone in the time she was in her role. She took a baby who was bruised from birth & suffered seizures due to lack of oxygen from having the chord wrapped around their neck. She took a baby who was dehydrated from not taking in any fluid after mom's milk dried up. She took these loved children from loving parents and put them in foster care, traumatizing them forever. I hate her. She is lucky she was able to retire (she should have been FIRED) & FL is lucky she's no longer walking the halls of its hospitals...
This is terrifying! The child protection system is messed up enough without having someone like her serving in such a prominent leadership role! Wonder how many children could have been saved from homes with REAL abuse had those resources been allotted towards them!
Having kids with any health issue or mental illness in Florida seems like a living nightmare.
I’m a RN and have developed a reliable sense in quickly “feeling out” what a physician is all about. Dr. Smith instantly gives me bad vibes and I haven’t even followed this trial yet… 😬
Here’s the vibes I get…
1) She seems like a doctor that would prescribe the incorrect medication and then berate the nurse who refuses to administer her mistake; or
2) a doctor that instantaneously escalates a bedside conflict with a stressed patient and then refuses to prescribe appropriate pain medication to said patient, just to be a d**k.

My experience living with a chronic disease is Drs don’t like anyone, especially other doctors, disagreeing with them and at their opinions are the only ones that matter. I wonder what other doctors think of her seems she think she is right, and everyone else is wrong.
Look up the online petition ‘Pinellas County CPS & Florida Dept. Of Health-Fire Dr. Sally Smith For Syesha Mercado Case’. Seems this isn’t the first case where she does what she did to Maya and her family.
12 families, those are only the ones that were able to prove they never abused their children and get them back. Some of them went to jail before being acquitted. I bet anything there are still families that could never prove it and she must have more fishy cases around. To think these are kids with disabilities that make them more vulnerable. She is certainly an expert in child abuse, but not the way she think she is.
Is there something perhaps like "Sadism by proxy", using other parent's children as the proxy

Somebody should tell women like this not to pull Amber Heard on the stand... But she also stared at the jury all the time, it's what those manipulators need to keep doing what they are doing. They can't stop even if they try. She could be the plaintiff's witness because she helped them a lot. :)
Funny you should say that, when she took the stand, she looked straight at the jury and smiled, and I just thought "OMG, she is going to do an Amber Heard and freak the just out". I think the defence made every effort to soften her, like they must of told her to let her hair down and wear make up, but the hard black eye make up just made her look more evil!

The hospital did all that to Maya saying her case of Munchausen's syndrome, not a pain syndrome at all. Guess what, today we heard the insurance paid the hospital for Maya be inpatient there for pain syndrome as the top diagnose since first day at the hospital. They lie to the insurance? Or what?
Right? It is either the hospital is incompetent and made mistakes in handling this or the hospital lied to the insurance company or lying now!

Apparently the company she works for already settled in 2022 for 2.5M. What does that tell you?

This women was given too much power !
The proffer she did tells me everything I need to know about her. The number of families she has ripped apart with her “investigations” she took one approach and that was “I’m right and you’re wrong and no other evidence exists besides what I say.” She never presented both sides of the story to the judge which when doing an investigation you are supposed to be doing. Collect ALL evidence good & bad and the JUDGE decides the outcome. She decided from day one (with multiple families) that she was the judge AND jury.
She discounted five board certified physicians, anesthesiologists and neurologists.
She knew better. That’s why she didn’t include any of the information in her report. I can’t imagine having kids around that woman.

This Dr. Smith’s demeanour, during her testimony, was comparable to that of Alex Murdaugh when he took the stand. She did not win me over. Hopefully this was the case with the jury 🇨🇦.

I can’t even imagine having to deal with this woman trying to protect my child. Uneducated, hard as a rock, stubborn and cruel….all etched in her face.

As a psychologist and behavior analyst, none of us knows everything about everyone. We do our best to analyze behavior but we never can say with 100 percent certainty everything about a person. We can only do our best. We also must maintain humility and take a team approach when we work with children in a school or hospital because one single person usually isn’t in charge of any one child. This woman comes across as a grandiose practitioner who seems too make statements of certainty when it doesn’t seem appropriate. Suggestions of taking the child off medication is NOT part of her role as a social worker. This is shocking to me.
I sure hope these families are Well Compensated this is sickening what these people done to Maya’s family Prayers for Maya and her beautiful family 😢

This “Dr” is part of a much bigger problem. Ego & lack of understanding is a huge part of this situation. An old saying in the healthcare is “when you hear hooves beat think horses not zebras”.
At least every parent who watches this trial now knows what she looks like, in case she comes into their child's room! Watch out!
She painted herself as a villain. Even now after she was proven wrong she still won’t stop with the I know better than five other experts that told me I was wrong.
She was softer 'cause the defense team looked at the video and realized how horribly she came across. She testified she was right and ALL the board certified specialists who diagnosed Maya with the rare condition were wrong. She was right because SHE didn't like their diagnoses and treatment. Think they're right on the money: she has anger issues. Unfortunately that angers seems to have directed at anyone who was suspected of child abuse.
I want to know how come she wouldn’t have reported the physician that had her on the treatment they found dangerous for medical malpractice? The mother wasn’t getting it off the street and doing her own thing she was following what a MD had convinced her was best for her daughter. They went straight after the parents and that just doesn’t make sense to me. Especially when the Dr was standing by the treatments, nobody was holding him accountable the whole time the mom was being kept from her.

She makes me wonder what happened to her? Was she abused as a child? Why is she so cold, cynical and distrusting? Did she get into this job because she wanted to protect other children from the abuse she suffered as a child?
I know this is speculative, but people don’t turn this cold and hard unless something has happened to them when they were growing up. If I were the defence attorney, I would dig into her childhood situation.

I thought at the very beginning of her testimony she was very nervous. She sounded like she was out of breath like some people get when their heart is beating very fast because they are nervous.

It seems like this woman is almost single-handedly to blame for the disaster that struck Maya Kowalski. She overturned the findings of 17 previous diagnoses and blamed it on the victims, and convinced - or bullied? - the medical staff around her to go along with it.
Wow - she’s arrogant, narcissistic and abusive. This “see you next Tuesday” needs to be behind bars.

this doctor is representing the hospital, her reporting is based on protecting the hospital interests even if her diagnosis is a lie.
Softer in her court appearance? This woman is about as soft as sand paper. Total narcissist, she thinks accountability doesn't apply to her because she's never wrong. So glad this family won in court!

What I find fascinating is this woman's forehead behaviour is being judged by women who have had serious amounts of botox to freeze the life out of theirs.

Sally Smith should not be given the privilege of protecting or caring for children. She may be trained in pediatrics, but she does qualify for that caring role. It seems obvious.
Thankful that it was revealed and the family was able to see justice. It won’t bring back their mother or time that they lost but so glad the jury saw right through that 🤬
Please keep this woman away from children!
