This is one of Prince's best songs (Still Waiting), in my humble opinion... Keep in mind that I have been a Prince "fan" since 1978... I graduated from high school in 1986... Attended several Prince concerts... bought the albums from Turtle's music and Sam Goody and Tower Records, watched Purple Rain (in the theater) several times, etc, etc... ... Dammm, time flies. 💯🙂
I love the little "ok" he says at 1:17 to let the band know he's ready to start singing. There's just something about that little voice he uses that gets to me every time. And I love Sue Ann's voice.
Has any other artist written more classic slow jams than Prince? Fire breathing jams. Baby, Still Waiting, It's Gonna Be Lonely, With You, Gotta Broken Heart Again, Do Me Baby, Free, International Lover, The Beautiful Ones, Condition of the Heart, Sometimes It Snows In April, Forever In My Life, Slow Love, the all time greatest ballad, Adore and so so many more.
You forgot “when we’re dancing close & slow, Scandalous, When2RNlove, Insatiable, One kiss at a time, Shhh…. Lol..and though it’s not bedroom song but “God” really showed off his falsetto and vocal range and abilities .. Prince was the King of tearing off the door hinges with his slow jams!!! You can hear and feel the passion and erotic emotions cover everything the mind fees when you’re either in Iove or trying to please a woman to the highest degree , when Prince did a slow song! Nobody could match his efforts! And there was some greats too! But Prince dared to take it a notch further and had the ability to make you believe that you were in his space when he sang and told the story in which ever song it was! Only someone truly competent in their emotions can do this because it’s real and makes it effortless . That’s art of the reason why nobody could touch his quality because he was 💯 % the real deal and not an imposter…. Master of the slow song he was ! Imagine if he only focused on slow songs!??? They were all believable! The greatest storyteller ever! And add to his other body of work and shows you that he was really prolific and unmatched. 💜
👍🏽💯 ... I'll add "How come you don't call me anymore" to the list.... Btw, Adore was the song that my wife and I danced the first dance at our wedding.

Cameo, The Dazz Band Heatwave. But yes....Prince probably remains the King.

@@marcus.g.4273 That is beautiful man. May you both stay together always.
it made my skin tingle....
Sooo cool....we need more like this in our lives to get through. 💜
The Deluxe releases are nice, but I would love to see some of these early releases remastered and put out as separate pieces.
A box set featuring some of these classic live performances of under appreciated album cuts like this would be dope.
Great to hear Prince on bass here.
The perfect opportunity to introduce classic love soul ballads
This is amazing. My BD is 3/8 - and on that day in 82 for my BD- My cousin gave me the “Controversy” Album.

Is that his sister in the photo? Never seen her performing with him.
The very large clue is in the title of the song 🙄
