The last time I saw him do this was in 2014 Manchester UK with 3rdEye Girl. Brilliant version he rocked out that night which is all over TH-cam, check it out. This particular rendition was around the time I first recognised Prince as being a huge Megastar and what a superb guitarist
Yes fella I was there also and that was my 100th Prince show. I agree he was on fire around that time and this track that night was probably the stand out moment for me.

That solo is a lot more Santana/Jeff Beck to my ears. Hendrix was a watershed influence but aside from Prince always quickly stating Hendrix wasn't one of his influences; his playing is way too tight and melodic. I hear Hendrix in Robin Trower, Adrian Belew, and Ernie Islet though.

There will be people born long into the future who will look back into history and find Prince and his music and will be blown away. They will wish they were around to see it happen and pray for a Time Machine to take them to the years 1977 -2016 ! How lucky are we that lived those years with Prince in this world

I remember standing outside in line angry because I thought the concert started. It was just the soundcheck lol. I put my ear to the door outside and closed my eyes. I forgot I was in line outside. Speechless 😇

I had this in some of my 'basement' collections. I found this stuff whilst I was OTR and did not make the time 2 archive it as I did so much other stuff. I remember it sometimes and play it in my head. Now I can listen again... Using loudspeakers.

Anyone ever notice how he had a real man's voice when he spoke and the way he would deliver his lines was madness. man if this guy was ever a stand-up comedian I reckon he would kill the world with his delivery of the punch line like when he told some guy about the line from Jacksons bad about whose butt you gonna own. I miss him for reasons like that.

I attended this concert in Miami. I was a senior in High School. Miami Edison Senior High. It was a incredible concert. Lasted almost four hours.
