I went through a bunch of your videos and thought you were a big channel because you were so professional and informed. Keep it up! I'll definitely watch
I have a 48 (gap), 54 callaway pm grind, and 56 degree vokey m grind. My 56 vokey feels like a scalpel around the greens. My 60 felt more like a shot gun whenever I was around the green, shots everywhere. So happy I got rid of it.
I have just lost my 60 wedge and came across this video. I was originally thinking of getting another 60 wedge for replacement but you do make such an important point. As a high handicapper, I would skull my 60 so often. I guess I’ll stick to 2 wedges in my bag (52 and 56), and then get another club for the longer end of the spectrum in my bag.
It was my go-to club but I just bought a set of used vokey sm6 (50, 54, 58) that are so much better. Right now the 50 is my favorite but they are all going in my bag because they are world's better than my iron set SW and old lob.
My 62° cleveland wedge is for green side bunker shots and lob only options like short sided over bunker other wise its the generic square strike all day
Recently changed my wedges up, went from a 50/56/60 combo to a 50/54 combo. I’ve had a lot more success around the greens since dropping the lob wedge.
I have a 60 degree lob in my bag, but I never use it around the green. I primarily use it for very high arc shots where there is a tree between me and the green, where lower lofts just won't work. Also, I don't find it all that hard to hit a full swing lob wedge off a tee just off the ground. My favorite shot I have ever hit was with my lob wedge on a shorter 106 yard par 3 for a hole-in-one. If you can hit it, it can be a great way to impress your friends on those shorter par 3 holes because the arc is rather huge (just don't blade it, hah!).
@@GolfAscending I don't intend to get a 7 wood because I'm confident on using a 3 iron (21 degrees of loft) to compliment my 5 wood of choice (which has 18 degrees of loft). @@luigihoratio5101 Whatever works for ya! Out of experience, it is a general rule of thumb that loft translates to distance, but that isn't always the case. Tyson speaking here, I carry a 3 wood and 7 wood because it worked out better gapping wise and ball flight wise. Tried a 5 wood and was too similar to the 3 wood hence the 7 wood (extremely overlooked club)!

Thanks! We are just getting started! Thanks for watching!

Haha! Shotgun is a good way to describe it 😂

Awesome! Glad this video could help make that decision! Ultimately we want the clubs that help us score the best and have a good time!
I definitely use it around the green more than I should but I really like using it.
Is it your go-to club for chipping, or just special situations?

Charles Compain awesome! That’s Brady’s current setup (with SM7s) and he loves them!! Tyson just made a switch to that setup, but he prefers the SM5s.

That’s a pretty smart wedge set up! Do you feel you need to practice your 62* often in order to have confidence using it on the course?
@@GolfAscending practice with that as much as the putter
What a hidden gem of a channel
Thanks! We hope to not be hidden for long! ;)

Nice! That’s awesome! Probably good advice for not using it around the greens. Often that much loft isn’t needed.
@@GolfAscending Yes, I avoid it like the plague around the greens, with exception to certain bunker shots.
Smart move in most cases. Thanks for your input!
I don't even carry a lob wedge. I've more or less abandoned it, and looking into getting a 5 wood.
Does it work well with your gaps? Do you by chance have a 7 wood?
