Hi Adam I'm afraid this is the only one we stock, for max thickness of 47mm www.axminstertools.com/axcaliber-professional-finger-joint-cutter-head-702469
Thanks for the video but the alignment of the height gauge and the center cutter is unclear (hidden from camera). The cutter is tapered - so are you aligning with the bottom of the thin end or the bottom of the thick end?
Hi, Thank you for your message. I can advise that alignment would be with the bottom of the thick end. If you require any further assistance, please contact our Specialist Technical Team on 0800 371 822. Kind regards, Caroline, Customer Service.
Hi, Yes you can skip the height gauge, this was used in the video to show how it can be done, it depends on your personal preference. Kind regards Tracey Customer Service
Hello, good video. Only this is not a fingerjoint router but a gluejoint router. Fingerjoint tools are used in end grain operations. The confiusion is understandeble because of the conical execution. Best regards.
Increasing the glue area isn't really that important. The glue will hold with just edge to edge joint. The biggest problem is alignment. It looks nice at first glance. It's a a little bit on the expensive side.
I set my Bosch 1617 between 4 and 5 (under 20k rpm I believe) while using this bit on 3/4" pine. Otherwise I'm not getting a clean cut. I would probably go around 3 for 3/4" hardwoods.
Finger joints are for end grain. Running them along the grain like that is weaker than simply gluing a butt joint. You're far better off using a biscuit or loose tenon when joining boards in this situation.
At last someone who knows what they are doing, beutifully done, excellent job..well done,..first class video..
What if you need to add the extra cutter ring. The centre is then between 2 discs ? I have the cutter but haven't used it yet.
what is the router speed to be set at? you said you checked it but you didn't say what is should be
Great vid. Never knew about the height gauge, always just measured it. Will have to get one of those. Thanks heaps.
How things are mad find it
Hi, great vid, thanks.

im not an expert and I love this joint but it seems like a lot of work adjusting the height from one piece to the other
Do you set the height gauge? Is the tip of the gauge set in the middle of the center cutter or bottom? Thank you
Good work learned many things very clearly explained thank you
can't you skip the height gauge and just use the board to adjust the router?
