Today we take a look at this awesome Jeep Wrangler YJ build. This is everything you want to know about building a Jeep YJ on 40s. The owner @TrailHuntersMiami explains everything he has done so far and we even take it for a quick drive. I also included some off-road clips at the end. Love this jeep. Real clean build. Close to what I’m shootin for. Got the same tires size and all, and it good to see he puts them on the road with no complaints

That is bad-ass! The YJ is a great starting point if you’re going to really build an intense off-roader since you can buy a clean rig for $5,000.

Bad ass YJ. I have a 95 as well with a 2001 Tj frame, and Dana 44 rear. It also has slip yoke Eliminator. Love my wrangler. Best of the two worlds.

My Jeep is under the knife now, love the low COG build man. Ima tell AccuTune 5” up travel. Are your 2” or 2.5” CO? Also do you know the backspacing on your wheels and what end of tire to tire is? Thanks man
They’re the 2.0’s. I’m at 4 inch up travel, backspacing is -4 I believe, and tire to tire I’m not sure but it’s pretty wide lol
I was wondering, if stuff from the highway gets thrown up in his face, since the wheels are spaced so far out.
I'm surprised that he stuck with the 4.0L A lot of these custom builds go with a V8 but this guy recognizes that the 4.0L is ultra reliable and will last forever. Good job. I'm impressed.
The 4.0L is an amazing platform, can power through almost every trail when matched with good gearing.
I stuck with it in mine for the reliability but I’m looking for what I can do for power and torque
I agree the 4.0 is a solid engine. I spent thousands trying to get mine to make more power. When I went tons, and 40's I looked at online power numbers and thought a stroker would do it. It did not fill my needs, I was disappointed in the power and torque, and it was built by a very well known stroker builder. I decided to put a lq9 in with a mild cam and minor goodies. I wish I would of done this in the beginning. My jeep is so much fun to drive again, it's spirited again, better fuel mileage, and even piss off some muscle cars sometimes. Best thing I ever did to my jeep hands down.

Hahaha! I can´t get of my thoughts, what would a german TÜV guy would look to this car. He would probably just laugh and would tell you to drive home. Awesome car!
Hi. You have a Dana 30 in the front?. I have a Dana 30 on my YJ. Converted to one piece passenger side axle. Are there locking hubs I. Can use so I'm not locked all the time?
Thats definitely not a Dana 30 my friend. Our stock YJs come with a d30 but nothing about this jeep is stock.
Hey what’s up bud, the yj has a Dana 60, but to answer your question, they do sell locking hub conversions for the Dana 30 but it’s not worth it in the long run.
Can I get the spring rate/size info and coil over length for that setup or is it classified 😶😶😶 doing a YJ with same genders and winch bumper

I have a 90 yj. I've got 12 bolt axles under it from an 85 k5 blazer but I want to go ahead and ditch the leaf springs. I'm thinking jk or tj Dana 44s. What would you recommend if you were in my shoes?
What did you end up doing ive got built axles and wanna go coil spring hydro
@TylerBigHead I'm still working on drive shafts. I'm in slow motion. Haven't got to suspension yet. Hopefully soon...

It’s basically a buggy now actually, a lot has changed since this video. The original idea was to keep it a “jeep” to answer your question.
