Methodology
1) I gathered data from walkingdead.fandom.com/wiki/TV_Series_Characters. The .csv files containing search interest values were downloaded from Google Trends for every character.
2) Ammount Search Tool determined the average monthly search volume for every character.
3) The number of searches per month for each calendar year were proportioned based on official reports from Google.
4) Data modeling through an algorithm invented by me to obtain the most realistic data possible.
5) Search interest values and proportioned monthly search volumes were placed in Excel for calculations.
6) The data was placed into Flourish Studio to create the data visualization piece.
7) Image and audio assets were added with Wondershare Filmora.

He also basically enslaved hundreds of people and had a group of wives who didn't even want to be his wife. The only good trait about him was that he was somewhat merciful and had some solid rules.

Loved Abraham and was more upset to see him go than Glenn in a way. We all were sort of prepared for Glenn's death in a way but I felt like Abraham still had some stuff he needed to do on the show and hadn't been fully utilized. I think he deserved to go out in the All Out War storyline doing something heroic that would lead them to victory, not executed the way he was.

@Xanth Miller Glenn is my 2nd favorite character after Rick and the only way for him to survive imo would be if they would kill Maggie instead (which would be brutal due to her being pregnant and unlikely because Negan would pick the toughest guys to die, not a pregnant woman), he got his comic death as well and it's the best episode they've ever made in TWD. They had to hit hard on S7 E1.

I’m very happy Maggie consistently stayed in the top 3. She is definitely my favorite character and her and Negan’s whole relationship is without a doubt the most interesting part of the show to me. The only spin off I’m actually excited for is theirs.
I found Maggie to be so annoying after Glenn died she just always so bitter and upset non-stop (understandable why but not fun to watch for many seasons). When they started building on Maggie and negans relationship in season 10, I really started to like Maggie a lot more. Now with the spin-off though they seemed to have gone back on that character development between Maggie and negan in season 10 which is a bit annoying. But then seeing Maggie just trying to be a good parent and really trying was nice to see as you don’t see her being a parent as much in twd. Anyway it just baffles me Maggie stayed so consistently at the top for so long considering her character changes

Right!! When i first met him i thought he would be killed off in a few episodes, but he became so much stronger
Gabriel, Negan and Carol are, by far, the best développement.
Literally he starts off by closing a church doors and letting people died to open the doors to a community who was about to die by a herd. Not my favorite character but it's a literaly fact that he has the best character growth naturally.
I never expect the governor to be so high, I liked him but not more than people like Carl or Abraham
I admired his perfect city. He did a good job during apocalypse honestly
Ikr but i've never liked him he wasn't worthy of love, he let down all the people who trusted him and all who wanted to trust him too... He was crazy, selfish, blindly exploitative. So much so that he preferred to sacrifice all the people around him and all that he had accomplished in Woodbury, and everything he was, just to impose his authority on Rick too.. He was a very disappointing character. I don't understand why anyone would love this type of mad person just because he saved a child and then killed her next.

Sorry, Negan IS carrying the show. People started to get tired of Daryl after all the crap he was doing before Rick's disappearance. Carol only did crap this last season. Judith still hadn't time to grow in the viewers perspective.
Negan was great during all this season. The man deserves the credit. I love Daryl but I wouldn't say people would riot if he died now since there's a strong character like Negan keeping the show going on.

Carol... one of the best developed "strong WAMYN" characters out there. She grew.. she adapted.. she changed.. and she BECAME a total badass. Honestly.. Carol is my go-to whenever people talk about strong female characters done correctly.
I actually thought that was pretty great because in the comics she was the one who went insane and killed herself after multiple attempts early on. I was pleasantly surprised when she didnt die.

Yeah they tend to start to give a character and arc and slowly after kill them. Like with Carol it was so weird, he’s in it so much and then within season 7-8 he’s just here and there with such little screen time. Then all of a sudden he’s speaking his voice and trying to be the person that brings everyone together and bam, that’s the end of his arc.

I appreciate how andrea was always at the bottom, and Negans sudden climb.
I think the moment everyone started liking Daryl is when he saved T-Dog from dying. He hid T-Dog under a walker’s body so a hoard couldn’t eat him. Prior to that, we all thought he was some backwoods racist like his brother Meryl. On top of that, everyone saw how useful he was with his crossbow. He’s tough as nails, but compassionate.
I loved him when he started to walk away from the others on Herschel's farm .. I knew he was trying to fight his love for all those people around... i just told myself That is Daryl.

Maggie being so popular is surprising, as is Shane. The Governor being so popular for so long is also kinda crazy. I expected Merle to be more popular, especially after his face-turn. I also think Rosita and her ass should be two characters - which might change that top three dynamic.

I like Maggie. Her acting is top notch. Norman earned the top spot. He plays Daryl so good and hes relatable to alot of people. Grew up with abuse, racism , drugs, alcohol...the outbreak was a blessing for Daryl because it brought him a FAMILY, a family he might've never found if the zombie outbreak didn't happen.
