Do you use sketchup much in industry? I like using sketchup because of its simple user interface but I always thought that in an actual job, a detailed cad software like revit is more commonly used? What’s your experiences like
@@mb.arch19 Both can be used, but Revit has more practical usage across a wider number of practices and it's a preferred skill to have. Try to have knowledge in both, with a stronger leaning in one direction over the other which in this case would be Revit since most firms use it more than Sketchup and your chances of getting hired are higher if you have skill in Revit. You'll be told to experiment with many softwares, like Sketchup/Rhino/Blender/Maya/3DS Max, but the truth is that Revit is the one software that you want to make sure you're good/knowledgeable about since it's the most likely software that a firm is likely to use. I was fortunate to have knowledge prior to graduating, but if I didn't then it would've been harder for me in practice since I would need to learn many things from scratch on the job.

I would say revit is better for industry as its literally designed for architects and is so powerful, but for uni I actually think Sketchup is better as its less time consuming and much easier to manipulate.

This doesn't work, SketchUp figured it out and made changes. if you try you will get this message; "This email domain is not allowed. Please use a different email".

Because you use a temp email, you can just delete it and reinstall straight after. It's not great but got me through my Bachelors until I could pay for it.

This trick does not work anymore. They can easily detect users with unknown emails and they released a patch for it.

Interesting, I have the same mac software so i know its compatible, my only suggestion i guess is try uninstall and reinstall?
I think you can open new file from the top bar of the laptop, sometimes some app in Mac works like that, and after that it will run as usual

Files wont be lost, they will stay on my device storage wherever you save them

Should be as simple as uninstalling the program and the program files and redoing the process with a new email and trimble account

Yes, Once you have your sketchup account you can download the VRay trial (1 Month) and log in with trimble to download

You can get vray, just login with your trimble account you make (i recommend doing it same time as install)

Im not sure sketchup is available on android, there is a free web version you can use but it is a little basic
