    One of the reasons why I like your reviews so much: you're opinionated and detailed. This stands out so much among a sea of reviews that end up saying the same thing. I might end up disagreeing on some points, but I can totally get behind why you ended up with that opinion; which is the more important thing to be able to understand deeply.

      This makes me happy to read. I have strong opinions and I know they aren't the "norm" in the shoetube or running space. However, I make a point to back them up with reasoning or data AND check my own bias when I feel it getting out of hand. All in order to provide the most detailed POV I can.
      Even if you don't agree with my observation or conclusion I want you to know how and why I got there.... Always.

    Thank you for the in-depth dive into these 2 shoes! I love my Asics and will probably always run with Asics but I've been eyeing the Nike Pegasus for a few weeks and I've been wanting to notice the differences. After this video I think I'll get the Peg 41's and try them out! I'm always down for trying out new shoes and brands to see how I like them. Nike Pegasus brings me back to the high school days in 2012 where that's all we wore along with the Air Force One's!

      Pegs are as classic Nike running as you get, up there with Air Force Ones. They will have a very different feel than anything Asics is currently making, but they are wonderful. Even if you prefer them for casual wear over running.

    I started looking for new running shoes after using my Nike Flyknit Racers for years on and off. I went to my local running store not knowing anything about the current running shoe trend, and based of shopping online there wasn't a single shoe that spoke to me like my flyknit racers. Turns out they had these in stores weeks before they release and tried them on, i had no idea about this shoe and did research when i was there and i couldn't find anything about it, so i waited for more reviews before i pull the trigger. I loved the way they fit though, looked amazing (had the white colorway on), and they didn't feel bulky, heavy, or tall. Jumping from the low extremely light flyknit racer to most high stack thick foamy squishy running shoes that have been a trend for quiet some time was too much for me. The Pegasus Plus felt like a natural transition. Its either those or the On cloudflow 4s for me, but im leaning more for the Pegasus plus.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a very interesting use case, coming from where you are. Running shoes have changed a lot since the Flyknit racers. Though, given you missed all of it, the Peg Plus would be one of those shoes that would come to mind to recommend to you, where you get the best of modern foams, but in something relatable to what you are used too.
      The On Cloudflow 4 is another interesting one. In On's currently lineup it is very much a relic of their past, though it would be very relatable coming from a Flyknit Racer.
      Both will be good for you but for very different reasons.

    You’ve mentioned the new Nike running shoe structure for a while now and they’ve made the Pegasus line very easy to understand they’re thought process on how it’ll work in the other lines, but I haven’t seen or heard anything about the next iteration of the vomero line. I love the 17 but I’m curious on what the 18 will be and what the function of the vomero plus would be. Either way, another great video

      Here is the video going over all of the new Nike structure: th-cam.com/video/CwsDdfZ8L0g/w-d-xo.html
      The Vomero line gets a standard/plus/premium....basically the V18 will be out next year (possible this year but no one has seen it yet in leaks), the Vomero Plus is the renamed Invincible (that name goes away) and the Vomero Premium is a dual air bag 50mm+ monster shoe.

    I have been running in the Peg 41 for a few months and really love the shoe. I was excited to get the Peg + but I will say after a few days running in this shoe, I feel the Peg 41 is the better shoe for me. The Peg + is comfortable but after a few miles the foam starts to bottom out. I feel my toes hitting the ground. It also seems like the foam starts to lose some bounce after a few miles and has sort of a sluggish Hoka like feel to it. The Peg 41 never feels like that to me. Maybe it's the zoom air bag in the front? Im not sure. It also stays constant throughout the entire run. I also love the React X foam. It's definitely a step up from the regular react foam. To be honest, it feels like the original react foam from my favorite all time running shoe , the first Epic React. React seemed to keep getting firmer after that shoe. This is just my opinion.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are describing a classic ZoomX issue, however I have yet to experience it in the Plus. Remember the Peg 41 is intended as a all rounder, it has a denser cushioning system that will work for more runners on really any type of run. The Plus is definitely a shoe that can take some trial and error to work into a rotation, especially if you aren't familiar with ZoomX. I find it an excellent workout shoe....

    I see the Peg Plus in seemingly 4 men's colours and 5 women's ones has now appeared on Nike UK as "Coming Soon" for £164.99. Think will got the white/red I had in the original Turbo. There is also an "Extra Wide" version of the Peg 41 there too. I note a lot of the "reviews" of the Plus already there refer to a Pegasus Turbo 4 not Plus so maybe the official name of Plus was only a late decision? Be interesting to see how many runners use both. I had the regular Peg 35 but hardly wore it in favour of the original Peg 35 Turbo and skipped the regular Peg 36 (although used the Trail one a fair bit) as was using Peg Turbo 2s for anything "everyday" back in 2019. I think the Peg 39/40 and now 41 have been increasingly better for me so will have to see how complementary they turn out to be for me. I wonder also if I am sort of wishing the max stack craze never happened and will go back to shoes that worked well for me pre Covid. Or will there be a sense of deja vu. That already seems theme of those reviewers unable to run over 6 miles without 30mm plus of stack.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The naming and Nike's running restructuring were all very last minute. Many of the leaked images of the Peg Plus, up until January 2024, were badged "Pegasus Turbo 4" on the tongue. The "Pegasus Plus" badged ones didn't start showing up until December 2023. So the switched, err approved restructuring, happened around New Years it seems.
      You will feel major de ja vu between the Peg41 and PegPlus and 2018/19...it's uncanny.

    Is the Peg+ a bit more versatile than the Peg Turbo 2? I'm a 5'6" 79kg runner, I found the Turbo 2 only half decent at full 5km race pace...just didn't get on with it...yet people said it was a long run easy shoe!? But that was subjective depending on your weight and 'average pace'...it's sweet spot was below 5min/km...which for me was not my easy run pace.
    I usually wear an Invincible 3 for all my runs, mainly base miles and training miles, some efforts and intervals too...i can run a faster 5km in them, but a bit wallowy...i need something for my faster 5km runs...this Peg+ looks like it could be the shoe. Do you think it compliments the Invincible 3 as a fast shoe all round?

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm a little taller than you and a little lighter than you and the Peg Plus works very well for the ranges I showed in the video, though it definitely is better at threshold and above, 5k pace is solid in this shoe...but I'd still opt for the Adidas Takumi Sen 10 as a dedicated 5k shoe.
      The Peg Plus would compliment the Invincible 3 well. Between the two you would have the full range of use covered, though a standard Peg 41 is a better partner for the Peg Plus and the shoe I'd pick over the I3 anyday.

    How were you able to purchase the Nike Plus in advance of official release? The turbo line has worked well for me (bought 14 pairs from version 1-3). I’m due for a new pair of running shoes in the worst way.

    I have flat feet and my current daily is Adidas Supernova Solution, which is a little boring but works well. I tried the Pegasus Plus in store and the combination of soft ZoomX and significant cutout under the midfoot meant my feet were rolling inward a lot, even when just standing or walking. • @SagasuRunning

      They are coming...but the Peg Plus is a better Nike free... much more performance.

    The forefoot in the plus looks higher stacked than the 41 on the side by side, did Nike ever release any official specs? Glad the real feel is more like 6-8mm my biggest issue with Pegasus 39 is not getting on with that 10mm drop

      The Peg Plus has sidewalls around the entire footbed, which help to stabilize the full ZoomX midsole on the foot. They give the shoe a deceptive look.

    Can you use Nike Pegasus Plus just for all day walking?

      The Peg41 is a better option for that. I mean, it will work fine…

    Turbo forefoot 23mm? It don’t seems that low… looks higher than Peg 41 and it has 27mm…

      360 sidewalls on the Peg Plus midsole are deceptive. The Peg41 has no sidewalls in the forefoot, only the heel.

    I think u like Nike a tad too much. It kinda look "sponsored". An when u said Pumagrip was not imressiv, it just sounded weird. I like ur argumentation, but somtimes i feel like there is alot of brands u dont like, even if the "next generation" of a shoe-series is totaly changed.

      On this channel I cover what is interesting to me and I tell it like it is. I've made no secret that I primarily run in Nike and Adidas, with a little Asics. I've made a point in 2024 to be as diverse as I can be, while still running in what is interesting to me. I love running shoe tech, thats why I started this channel, but my tastes in shoes are very much not inline with the current fads in running shoes. There are definitely some brands and shoes I have zero interest in covering, even when I try with an open mind. I'm trying to be as broad and complete covering as many brands as I can....but ultimately I'm just one running with very specific tastes.
      Also, I said Pumagrip was fantastic on the Velocity Nitro 3, not so much on the Deviate Nitro 3....

    I think there was an error with me cause the site gave me a 10% discount on the plus. I got em for $162. Not bad. When I went back to the site the price was at $180 again.

      Consider yourself lucky then. 😂 Enjoy them. The Plus is a great shoe.
