I really love the Pegasus Plus. I wanted a shoe that felt like the Rebel v4 in uptempo runs and feels good in slower paces. I got that in this shoe. In my opinion, Nike nailed this one. 😊
@@alex-dk2rj I have not tried it but I think it can handle interval workouts. My first run in my pair was a hard tempo session and it performed well beyond my expectations.

Great video and review. I really like the Vomero 17s and feel like they are a better daily trainer option than Peg 41s. Curious to try these out and see how they compare.
Couldn't agree more on the comparison with the Mach 6! Exactly how I felt when I tried the shoes together. I do think the Nikes win in the drip department though.

I loved my original turbos and always wondered why they discontinued them. I'm glad you mentioned about the difference in the zoom X foam though, I had 4 pairs of the flyknit 4% and loved them. I even liked the invincible 2 as a recovery shoe, but the invincible 3... I still just can't get used to them on longer runs... so much so that I switched over hoka more recently but still crave that original zoom x feeling
I feel like Nike finally has a good rotation on deck with the new peg plus. I have been using the Plus for those weekly type workouts and uptempo runs, the invincible for all my easy and long runs, and the vaporfly and alphafly for key workouts and races. I also have the vomero but I feel like it's a worse shoe than the Invincible in almost every way, so I rarely use it. I do think the Mach 6 would make for a better option if you only have a one or two shoe rotation (a do it all and maybe a racer). But if you have a cushioned cruiser and a speedy tempo trainer, you can usually bypass the versatile trainer entirely and have more dedicated options. The Plus should definitely be $160 tho.
Hey kofuzi I am deciding on buying this or the adizero Sl 2 for track and faster training while still can handle long run. I feel like the sl is a better option and price than peg plus, what do you think?
Nice, I have the full option(s) available, however I always rotated in the ZoomFly 4 for tempo run's. Would the Pegasus Turbo / Plus be a good alternative for the Zoom Fly 4 or Tempo Next %?
Love the look of it... There are just better alternatives now compared to when the Peg Turbo and Peg Turbo 2 were on the market (I own a pair of Peg Turbo 2).
A very specific version of theTurbo is one of my all-time favorite shoes. But I won't tell you what it is for fear of further increasing demand for it on ebay. Yes, you did review it.
Idk if you’d agree, but I think the peg 39 was the last decent peg that came out. I never tried on the pegs in the 30s but based on looks, they look fcukin amazing when it comes to performance and comfort. I tried on the 41 and the 40 at the Nike store, both were just bad. They don’t seem like real running shoes. On the 40 I hated how it was too much padding on the upper, it was just retrded. I tried on the peg plus this past Sunday and I like how they feel. Something I can pick up the pace with. I’ll be ordering them♥️
In retrospect these days, I generally demarcate the 36 as the last really good standard Peg (it was the last to use cushlon, which had its limitations but was good)
But in general, I trust nike more when it comes to running rather than their competitors. I didn’t like the trainers from asics and NB. Guess the pegs will be their least good shoe in the future, and premium pegs will be better for performance and training. I’d prefer Nike just make the pegs the great shoe and not have other lines within the pegs
Great review Mike. Question, the racing ‘stripe’ rubber that’s on the outsole, do you see that being in way of preventing rubber from going somewhere when the foot strikes? Waffles on both sides seem okay but, stripe in middle not sure
I love that you put together an all Nike lineup. I'm curious where the structure 25 would fall for you? Thank you for the fantastic information and entertaining videos!
It's a stability shoe but I‘ve seen videos with Cole Hooker using them during hill repeats or even mile repeats at threshold. So I'm wondering if athletes wear them in front of camera just to promote the shoe and they never use it again or if really it is a great workout/daily shoe
Cooper Teare discusses why he and Cole use the structure in the sova sweat elite video. He basically says that they train in a heavy basic shoe so they build strength and feel extra quick in race shoes on race day.
These shoes completely kill my knees, used the Pegasus turbo years ago and those saved my knees when I was running with Asics Nimbus 18 (Almost gave up running due to those shoes), back in 2018 I've started using Nike and got back the pleasure of running with the Pegasus Turbo, but this Pegasus Plus brought back that knee plain, maybe due to the 10 mm drop, I'm selling mines after 50 km...
Overpriced like many other shoes but if I were to run in one Nike shoe for the rest of my life, it would be this one and for speed/race Vaporfly 3. I think they would make a great two shoe rotation.
Can confirm Nike shoe rotation for 5k-Half Marathon | Pegasus, Invincible, Streakfly, Vaprofly - is spot on. For marathon training I think Alphafly is probably a better option than Vaporfly and the Vaporfly is probably better than streakfly for workouts. I’ve heard so many good things about the Vomero I really gotta get a pair and test them out myself!
Vomero 17s are great, never talked about in the Nike lineup, yet does everything the Pegasus does but better. Can get them cheap at the Nike Outlets too.
@@its1027 That’s what everyone keeps telling me, surprised they aren’t talked about more, but maybe that’s a good thing if you can get them for cheap 👀 Definitely have to get a pair soon!
Looking at the Nike line up and it becomes obvious how limited their running options are compared to most running shoe companies in 2024. Everything outside of their racing shoes seems kind of dated almost. Really cool shoes from 5-10 years ago that haven't changed meaningfully since.
Why turbo is on the outsole- Nike switched strategy midway. they have added this "plus" classification to their basic running shoes. This was going to be a turbo, but then they switched to plus, so it was a rolling change. The molds were already cast, would cost a fortune across the size runs to do over, but upper changes could almost be done on the fly. Same thing happened to adidas boost, the first iterations were called a3 or a/cubed (adidas cubed)- they realized a3 was stupid and bought out the rights to boost (from Hush Puppies, go figure). Do you know who names shoes? Lawyers (IP)
disappointed that nike discontinued their shield lineup (which included clothes) and replaced it with gortex shoes. not quite the same. was looking forward to a shield pegasus 41. in comparison, the pegasus trail gortex feels nothing like the non-gortex version around the heel area.
These didn't work out for me, too narrow in the forefoot and gave me heel pain, switched to Hyperion 2's and much prefer. If anyone wants an EU 45.5 pair let me know 😉
it's a great time to be a runner. there's a specific running for just about every runner and just about every use case. I generally don't think about what running shoe company is best, as it becomes cumbersomely vague and tends to incorporate non-running-shoe-performance criteria like marketing prowess, signature athlete signings, apparel quality, and the most subjective and opaque criteria of them all: value.
I like the Pegasus 35 zoom x an all time fav of mine. I felt it could do it all all types of runs both road and trail and still good trainer for the gym/weights and treadmill. Maybe not for race day though I think could manage up to a 10k race. Any thoughts Mike Ko between Pegasus 35 zoom x and this shoe as a replacement?

Not understood segmentation of nike- whats diff of this model vs vomero, whi h also has zoom x and 10 mm drop? Or with invicible, which has just bit more stack....
the shoes are pretty different. I would suggest going to a running store to try them on. this will give you an opportunity to understand how meaningful those seemingly minute variations of paper specs can have when running.
I had them, they hurt my leg like some stability shoes and it felt dead, also the stripe rubed my toe...wouldn't recommend them. I got a pair of Hyperion 2s recently at a 30% discount and they blow them out of the water in every way, I might also prefer them over my Vaporflies.
I would guess Nike decided to change the name after the molds for the outsole with Turbo on it were already in production and it was too expensive to scrap that.
I Got 450 miles on the first 2 pairs of my Invincible 2’s, and could easily go up til 650 miles, as my first 2 pairs of Invincible 1 (70kg & 173cm forefoot striker)
probably not any running shoe. i'd probably pick something from a sport that does a lot of jumping or has quick lateral movements. maybe a basketball shoe, indoor soccer shoe, or tennis shoe
Opinion.... This one does not change the game like the original Peg Turbo... Other brands level the game! There are better options for this kind of shoe!
I’m not a gym guy and have no idea what people mean when they ask if a shoe is good for gym. But if you mean weights, I recommend never using any running shoes for weights
My first ever pair of speed workout shoes was the Turbo 2. Bought them after watching Kofuzi’s review back then. Don’t know why, but I just love it when Kofuzi reviews Nike shoes. Maybe it’s because it feels like a catch up with an old friend.
Nike is missing of a shoes with nylon plate and Zoom X, which it should be light, comfortable and responsive. I've broke the flyknit uppersole of my Streakfly during track session, the pegasus 41 is a "vomero 5 style" with tons of cushioning and the double zoom air. like 19 shoes and for the most are all the same. Nike need to improve this side of the running silos, cutting dry branches and re-think as a running company
this. The Tempo Next% was a shoe that really surprised me. It was basically an alpha fly except at the heel (react and higher stack) with a different upper. The higher flexibility of the plate also made it bearable for slower runs. That bounce from the zoom air pods was nice too. I don't know what happened to Nike. The Peg Turbo was the training companion to the Vaporfly whereas the Tempo Next% was the training companion to the Alphafly. Now they have no race companion options except to wear your race shoe to do speed work or daily runs. Nike created a bunch of different daily trainers which gives people the impression that Nike running shoe aren't just for running anymore. Like 90% of the running lineup fill the same niche (Daily trainer). They know that they mostly sell to consumers and not runners.
@@tommysiharath6988 i'm 100% agree with you. Nike lost the "brand passion for running shoes" making tons of shoes which fit all the same and the sensation are pretty identical. Only vapor and alpha give different vibes, but the other like 17 shoes are pretty the same. i usually run about 60/70km per week, i' a middle distance runner, and for my tempo workout i used in the past the tempo next but now find a pair in decent condition is very rare. Can only use the vaporfly but i can't afford a pair of it every 2/3 month just because the swoosh doesn't have a tempo shoes. I'm just back from a fartlek with the pegasus plus (which have already 100km on the sole) and for me it lacks responsiveness and springiness especially at 3:40/3:50km. This shoe had to have an air zoom capsule and be the perfect pegasus 41, and maybe the real new version of the pegasus turbo (with a big update) could have a nylon plate for fast training, so that Nike could have a plate not aggressive shoes and cover a greater number of runners
@@kofuzi lol ohhhhh i see sorry ive only just looked into a new pair and purchased the vivid purple. I was starting to think id been scammed because they haven’t arrived yet and for the life of me i cant find any videos that include them in that colour.
I think this shoe and higher drop actually suits your forefoot strike. This is contrary to popular opinion that high drop is for heel strikers (which I think is wrong). That's why The Runtesters didn't like it as they all heel strike.
Anyone can please explain to me why nike and other companies keep designing shoes with high drop ? - what is the benefits of having higher drop shoe ? - it's honest question, as I do not see any performance benefit of 10mm drop as to let's say 6 or 4mm drop (i don't have any zero drop shoes to compare) As I don't see any performance benefits but I see downside of higher like 10mm drop - it seems always to be enough foam (or to much) in the heel but at the same time not enough in the forefoot... and as everyone is saying this is the case in peg plus (and peg 41) - Question is - why to make shoe with 10mm drop which make most runners complain for not having enough under forefoot, and why not instead make same shoe with let say 5mm or less drop which obviously would mitigate that issue Anyone please explain that to me 🙏

Compare to Brooks Hyperion 2, which one suitable to run a speed training shoe? Speaking 15 to 20K. Any guys have your suggestions?
I had them, they hurt my leg like some stability shoes and it felt dead, also the stripe rubed my toe...wouldn't recommend them. I got a pair of Hyperion 2s recently at a 30% discount and they blow them out of the water in every way, I might also prefer them over my Vaporflies.
How is it compared to Syreakfly? Both zoomx
I discuss the streakfly in this video
Finally 😍
I've been hearing people comparing this to the adidas Sl2. Which one to pick?
I have not heard anyone compare this to the Adizero SL2. They’re pretty different
@kofuzi which would you pick?
I would guess Nike decided to change the name after the molds for the outsole with Turbo on it were already in production and it was too expensive to scrap that.
A couple of people have said that, but if that is true, then I will stop calling this a Turbo
Let's go!
Off topic but still zoomX - how much mileage can I expect to get from a pair of Invincible 2's?
250mi for the foam. Uppers start to disintegrate at 300.
I Got 450 miles on the first 2 pairs of my Invincible 2’s, and could easily go up til 650 miles, as my first 2 pairs of Invincible 1 (70kg & 173cm forefoot striker)
@@dejodejodejo thanks for that!
WHAT SHOES IS BEST FOR PLYOMETRICS?
probably not any running shoe. i'd probably pick something from a sport that does a lot of jumping or has quick lateral movements. maybe a basketball shoe, indoor soccer shoe, or tennis shoe
so in your smaller size than Nike website info you have a more heavy shoe than the info they put available?
I’m not sure I understand the question, but whatever I said it weighs is what my shoe weighs.
My scale doesn’t care what a website says.
@@kofuzi exactly, from what i understood the info in their website is wrong, thanks for the info.
It's been a while since the last time I buy a Nike. Maybe this will be the one if I start again
Opinion....
This one does not change the game like the original Peg Turbo... Other brands level the game!
There are better options for this kind of shoe!
Would these be good for working out in the gym?
I’m not a gym guy and have no idea what people mean when they ask if a shoe is good for gym.
But if you mean weights, I recommend never using any running shoes for weights
What about for jumping/plyos and squatting (flat foot stance stability)?
yeah, still no running shoes for that
My first ever pair of speed workout shoes was the Turbo 2. Bought them after watching Kofuzi’s review back then. Don’t know why, but I just love it when Kofuzi reviews Nike shoes. Maybe it’s because it feels like a catch up with an old friend.
Are they comparable to Puma Deviate 2/3?
Yeah kinda
@@kofuzithanks. Just ordered both to compare - need a replacement for Deviate 2 that didn’t survive a trail.
Always an insant watch 👍🙂
Pegasus Next Natures were so mid but I got a couple for $60 and put 400 miles in them LOL
Is is similar to Nimbus 26?
Not at all
Maybe nike dont want to be related to asics's ff turbo foam
Adizero SL2
Wheres the vivid purple colour???
It’s hard for me to include shoes that didn’t exist at the time of filming
@@kofuzi lol ohhhhh i see sorry ive only just looked into a new pair and purchased the vivid purple. I was starting to think id been scammed because they haven’t arrived yet and for the life of me i cant find any videos that include them in that colour.
I think this shoe and higher drop actually suits your forefoot strike.
This is contrary to popular opinion that high drop is for heel strikers (which I think is wrong).
That's why The Runtesters didn't like it as they all heel strike.
The "Streak" was a racing flat from a few years ago. You meant "Streak Fly".
I miss the zoom streak. Pylon was underrated
@@kofuzi I only had the Streak 7, would still like to see Zoomx paired with something like Pylon.
Life is too short to cram my fairly wide feet into Nikes
Nike’s clearly lost the plot on the performance running segment.
Turbroooooo
ADIDAS SL2 at its price point really embarrasses this shoe 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
I don't like alphafly 3 it's a weird shoe.. that people has sickly feeling about it.😆😅🤣😂
And it's Not for everyone..😝
Anyone can please explain to me why nike and other companies keep designing shoes with high drop ? - what is the benefits of having higher drop shoe ? - it's honest question, as I do not see any performance benefit of 10mm drop as to let's say 6 or 4mm drop (i don't have any zero drop shoes to compare)
As I don't see any performance benefits but I see downside of higher like 10mm drop - it seems always to be enough foam (or to much) in the heel but at the same time not enough in the forefoot... and as everyone is saying this is the case in peg plus (and peg 41) -
Question is - why to make shoe with 10mm drop which make most runners complain for not having enough under forefoot, and why not instead make same shoe with let say 5mm or less drop which obviously would mitigate that issue
Anyone please explain that to me 🙏
“…flyknit….”
FLYKNIT
this peg naming scheme is so konfuzing!
Say FLYKNIT again m--f-- - I dare you! I double dog dare you! (Sam Jackson voice) - ROFL
Tge 4 percent looks dork
This is gibberish
It’s overpriced and under-cushioned in the forefoot. Tried & didn’t like.
