Genesis is just absolutely stunning and surprising at how they are catching up with the Germans. A fully loaded G70 (in Canada) goes for 62k. Brembo, limited slip dif, 375hp, etc, etc… how much is the C43MAG!!! And they are not done yet…2022 and onwards look promising.
The fact that these cars are being compared against one another speaks to the quality and progression Hyundai has made over the last 15 years. My Aunt had an 02 Elantra and it was so unreliable and rusted to pieces after only a couple years of ownership. I have a 22 Elantra and the quality and value for your money compared to other compact sedans in my opinion is unmatched. Hyundai is really doing something special. The G70 is a beast!

The Hyundai does have one true competitor… Volkswagen! The VW Jetta is by far the best budget sedan. 43mpg, wireless connectivity, travel assist and more.

Just wondering does SamCarLegion actually use the launch control on the G70 or hold the brake and accelerator down to build up the turbo boost prior to launching. Seems like you are just punching the accelerator and you will loose every race doing that.
You should do the c43 vs the Red Sport 400 and see of the result is the same or different than what TFL cars got. This was a great race and I enjoyed watching it.

I got the genesis 3.3 launch edition, and a few super minor bolt ons for less than 1500 will get it to 450 whp. Test drove c43 and the m340 and this car is legit
These results I can get onboard with. C43 has a proper launch and more HP to pull through up top. You can see the G70 torque pull ahead a bit on the roll but then the C43 HP takes over. Nice races!

Just a question guys, now there are many liquids for valve clean as a sprays for gdi engine and through gasoline tank so my question is what about if your car is supercharged engine how would you clean the valves through throttle?
you cant clean the valves through the fuel tank in GDI engines, the valves are not sprayed with fuel. best way to prevent carbon build up from direct injection is an oil catch can. best way to clean it if you already have build up is walnut blasting
I expected this. With the power and tourqe difference. But for a 17,000$ difference comparing that to the base model AMG the Genesis is a steal and excellent car. Especially since its gotten support from the mod community so you could get it faster than that AMG still without breaking the AMG price.
That is true, though something to consider is the difference in interior quality. The C43 is far superior. That benz will also look like a classic in 10 years, whereas I have a feeling the ultra-modern styling on the G70 will appear cheap and tacky sooner than people think.
@@murrayer5426 this is the first time ive ever heard anyone compliment a c class interior over ANY genesis model, and that is such a small percentage who view it that way, sure this is all subjective but unless you're a fanboy, you'd rarely see anyone go in favor of the c class interior over a genesis, their interior is far nicer imo, also between the flimsy and squeaky as well as pretty old c class interior and the new stuff, i take the new stuff, hence why they decided to remodel the interior in the new C-class, its just been a more common opinion despite it all being subjective, but objectively the c43 is no where near "far superior" than a genesis, the mercedes interior quality is pretty sub par and thats been a fact in terms of build quality

If you're someone who loves to press hard on interior paneling and then get mad that it squeaks, then go ahead I guess. The ergonomics and tech of a Benz is, as I said, FAR SUPERIOR to that of even the newest Genesis interiors, which the g70 is still not available with.
@@murrayer5426 Im not entirely sure what you're on about, the interior of the mercedes has been KNOWN to be inferior in terms of quality, you may like the appearance, but their seats are nothing special at all, feels like a regular seat to me, and owning a new 3.3 g70 with every option, and testing out the new g80 and GV80 ergonomic seats, theyre all very comfortable and never have I ever sat in either car and went " oh wow id love to be sitting in a mercedes instead Rn" or vice versa lol, its a weird point and you're either really tall, short or just barely fit in the seats and may have back problems to really feel any sort of difference since the quality of Genesis' seats are amazing in all honesty and I've never had a problem, 16 way adjustable seats on the highest trim and ive always been comfortable so I dont know what else to tell you, except for the factual statement that Mercedes Benz have always been critiqued on the quality of their interior, and I say that while it is my favorite looking interior out of all the Germans too.

Absolutely agree.. Plenty of people are calling for 400hp (300KW) for the stinger and G70 you'd think it'd be a walk in the park for Hyundai /KIA /Genesis to extract those few extra ponies without needing to spend too much money on R&D.. Hopefully won't be far away..
@@malsmith2012 There are a lot of factors required to add horsepower if you don't want to reduce reliability and fuel economy while not increasing emmisions and cost. Remember these cars are sold globally so they need to meet requirements for a lot of different markets.

But when automakers design car, engine, drivetrain, they design it based on agreed upon goals which are approved by senior exec's. Often times hitting all these goals is hard enough within the time constraints of getting things out into the market quickly. With mainstream cars, meeting cost targets, reliability and emissions is at the forefront. And because a lot of what is done during development has limited time to validation they usually release products in a conservative state. Its better to be underpowered, then to be too expensive or have reliability/warranty issues. Each automaker has a different risk tolerance based on their culture. I would say that as these 3.3T engines see more time in the market, the automaker will get better real world data on reliability and will also in parallel be cutting costs. This should in the future allow them to increase power (but they will never push the limits right out of the box for a mainstream car)
Like I said before if it can't beat the Audi it's not going to beat anything else except for maybe the Lexus and the Acura you should race it against the ct4 & ct5 V's

@@NSUScooter Performance specs reflect 4.1 to 4.4 for 0-60. Maybe 1 sec in the quarter. For the number of times you'd line up against an AMG in real life better to invest the difference and have another $100K in 40 years. Even more considering maintenance costs.
Transmission in the Merc is definitely superior to the one in the G70. It’s behaving more like a DCT. Notice how after every shift the Merc jolts forward.
I’ve driven a c43 before when your flat out the trans is great shifts very quick with authority………..but normal driving it sucks very jerky and gear hunts a lot and it’s a torque converter. BMW Has tuning of torque converter auto down to a science. There zf 8 sp is just as quick but buttery smooth at all times.
Now line that Genesis up against a 2012 Genesis R Spec sedan and you will quickly see how Hyundai went backwards in power. Awesome comparison between these two . You guys rock. Thanks a bunch for sharing.
I think there is a video where the G70 wins against A v8 Rspec. The G70 pretty much got the same torque as the v8 and torque in the g70 comes in quicker at 1300 rpm while that rspec was around 5600rpm. The G70 got a top speed of 168mph whiles that R spec got like 155 mph. They did not go backwards in performance.
Why? I keep seeing Genesis and Acura fanboys trying to use price as an excuse for why their cars are slower. I mean, pricing really comes out the same in the end. Genesis and Acura are not discounting their cars at all. You have to buy at MSRP. Audi, Benz, BMW are giving at least 10% off the cars. You end up paying about the same.
@@Tsand4 trans shifted horribly man, that is the weak point here. Put in a proper dual clutch and it will even out with that C43. So yes, that trans need to be tightened up, otherwise we would have seen different results on the viddy.
@@mikehawk120 it still would lose on a roll from having more weight less hp dual clutch wouldn’t really make a difference. It just needs a real LC. When I do the parking brake launch in my stinge which builds boost (same exact powertrain) I do 4.2 0-60 n 12.5 1/4 mile. Just needs a a good LC.
I always found it interesting how in these races the cars would “hop” after every shift. I thought the transmissions were supposed to be smooth & lightning fast.

The Benz is just a beast. Especially for something that was introduced back in 2016 as C450 and then C43 in 2017
It was first introduced in 2015 as the C400, then changed in 2016 to the C450 AMG then finally changed again to the C43 AMG in 2017
It got upgraded recently so that's the only reason why it's faster not the same as it was back in 2016!!!

G70 is advance trim. No LSD, Factory All Season Tires and missing other features of Sport Trim. I have sport AWD and beat a C43 amg, well slightly :)

@@NSUScooter Performance specs reflect 4.1 to 4.4 for 0-60. Maybe 1 sec in the quarter. For the number of times you'd line up against an AMG in real life better to invest the difference and have another $100K in 40 years. Even more considering maintenance costs.

Stinger and G70 use mostly same platform. (Stiner wheel base is 10cm longer than G70)

Transmission in the Merc is definitely superior to the one in the G70. It’s behaving more like a DCT. Notice how after every shift the Merc jolts forward.
I’ve driven a c43 before when your flat out the trans is great shifts very quick with authority………..but normal driving it sucks very jerky and gear hunts a lot and it’s a torque converter. BMW Has tuning of torque converter auto down to a science. There zf 8 sp is just as quick but buttery smooth at all times.

I think there is a video where the G70 wins against A v8 Rspec. The G70 pretty much got the same torque as the v8 and torque in the g70 comes in quicker at 1300 rpm while that rspec was around 5600rpm.
The G70 got a top speed of 168mph whiles that R spec got like 155 mph. They did not go backwards in performance.

Why? I keep seeing Genesis and Acura fanboys trying to use price as an excuse for why their cars are slower. I mean, pricing really comes out the same in the end. Genesis and Acura are not discounting their cars at all. You have to buy at MSRP. Audi, Benz, BMW are giving at least 10% off the cars. You end up paying about the same.

@@Tsand4 trans shifted horribly man, that is the weak point here. Put in a proper dual clutch and it will even out with that C43. So yes, that trans need to be tightened up, otherwise we would have seen different results on the viddy.
@@mikehawk120 it still would lose on a roll from having more weight less hp dual clutch wouldn’t really make a difference. It just needs a real LC. When I do the parking brake launch in my stinge which builds boost (same exact powertrain) I do 4.2 0-60 n 12.5 1/4 mile. Just needs a a good LC.

I always found it interesting how in these races the cars would “hop” after every shift. I thought the transmissions were supposed to be smooth & lightning fast.

Well in order to be "smooth" you have to make the shifts slower lol. You can't have smooth AND fast.
You can't be fast and smooth while shifting gear lol...maybe Tesla with 1 gear
