Unfortunately the Pan America will be made in Thailand in 2025, beyond that Harley hasn’t committed. I believe they are waiting to see the results of the Presidential election and whether there will be tariffs imposed will determine if they bring production back.
Get a Kawasaki KLR650. Less than half the cost of a Pan American, and it is built in Thailand too. If you're going to buy an overseas-built bike, buy one that will last. That being said, Kawasaki does have A LOT of US-built products, like for example the MULE (The ORIGINAL UTV) which was invented by a group of US Kawasaki Dealers. The Kawasaki motor in my Bad Boy Rogue, Zero Turn was built in the US. It's sad when a Japanese Corporation builds more products in the US than an American Corporation.
@Embargoman indian is just as bad. Do some research. Dei, esg scores etc.. the only thing they have going for them is they say they'll only make them in America. Guess who else said that too?
My 2023 Kawasaki KLR650 Adventure was built in Thailand and is less than half the cost of a Pan American, more reliable, and cheaper to run and service. I'm sure Kawasaki moved the production of the bike from Japan to Thailand for the same reasons as Harley, but if I'm going to get a bike built overseas, I'd rather have a Japanese bike like a Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Honda. It is a FACT that Japanese bikes are more reliable than an American one, and most of the Japanese Corporations don't put up with all this DEI crap. They are interested in making a quality product and making a profit, that's it.
We don’t know if the plant in Thailand is being used by other brands, we also don’t know what’s behind the case covers adorning the revmax engine, there could be more shared resources than we know of. HD has past partnerships with Hero corp and other Asian motor manufacturers. As for your KLR comparison, your facts are there but a Pan America is not an apples to apples comparison, the KLR is a workhorse.
@@KennyQuestShow fair enough. I wanted a 'dual sport'/'Adventure' bike, and IMO the KLR is the best bang for the buck in that category. The PanAmerican I believe was Harley's first attempt at a dual sport, or adventure bike. But I could be mistaken. If Harley can get a change in management, I would suggest they venture into the ATV/UTV/SXS World. Harley's former (lousy) parent company AMF ventured into that world a bit, but I think there would be a market for a Harley SXS if they can stop all this DEI CRAP.
@@wesinbama your KLR is an off road centric unit, the Panamerica is more sport touring, IMO, engine size and farkels wise it competes with the those 80/20 crowd bikes where 80 percent of riding is done on the road. As for SXS with the bar and shield, why not? It makes good sense. Rotax makes many of the Polaris engines Harley could use them for an engine then farm out the frame they could assemble here in the U.S.

Half the price 1/4 of the power. I predicted years ago that the Harley HQ would become a gay bar. Also, HD announce a $1B stock buyback in their July, 2024 quarterly report, basically stating they will be ramming employees and customers from behind for the foreseeable future.
My take : I don't care if Harleys sales dropped in half. Maybe the big dogs upstairs will look for greener pastures. And whats left will kiss the customers ass instead of the customer kissing the companies ass. When your struggling you become a nicer person. For me I will keep buying old Harleys so nobody will be kissing my ass, life won't be changing much.

Intentionally wrecked? No I believe that he believes he’s doing great based on what he did at puma and the accolades and money he received as a reward. He’s doing the same plan at HD. Problem is that Pima was in Germany and his core client base wasn’t Americans. BTW he also shut down Puma factories and moved manufacturing to Asia.
It seems that 90% of the public does not understand. The Corpoarate Board pursues, selects and votes the CEO into their job. The CEO does not pick themselves. If you want to pull back the cover of how this stuff happens, find out who is on the board and running the corporate board.
No need actually to research the boards of products. If the product is not good, which will happen over time automatically if the focus is on DEI and not excellence, the product will lose favor with the customer/potential customer base;
Companies go overseas for two reasons to make things: 1. That place does it better (ie: Swiss watches). 2. Cheaper. HD are going overseas, not because it's better, but because it's cheaper. Places like Thailand have cheaper labor and less restrictions. So, if I don't see it from my house, it's fine? Harley has been making much of their clothes and T's forever overseas. Why no one has called them out, I don't know. Why doesn't the CEO move certain production to Germany, since he's German?
Indian is owned by Polaris. When they made the scout in 2015, they said part of their design was done to make it an easy bike to work on. I bought one in 2018, and it’s super reliable and super easy to work on. I recently bought an Indian Challenger. I will say Polaris makes a heck of an engine. They last forever, and are easy to work on. Not saying Harley doesn’t, but I’ve never been a big Harley fan. For a long time I thought of them as old man bikes. That was their clientele forever. That being said, don’t think their current wokeness fits that demographic.
It certainly does not fit. Thanks for sharing your experience with Indian. I’ve ridden and posted videos on the Springfield and the Sport Chief they are well built and fun to ride.
Discrimination against whites, and hetero couples are truly unconstitutional. What ever you choose in life, Great!! Run with it!! Don't discriminate against anyone!! We all walk different paths. Let those do as they wish, but don't push your thoughts on others. If you want dei? Fine, just don't push in on others and discriminate in the process. Americans are tired of being bullied by the 1% DEI or woke crowd. Tired of being told what to like, or what to do or eat, or buy. If you want to sell a product, SELL IT!!, without your beliefs attached to it. This is not a hard thing to do. Wake up businesses, if you want to stay in business, quit being jerks!!
Dumb move by Harley Davidson. Because lets be honest here. Nobody NEEDS a Harley any more than they NEED a sports car. People NEED basic transportation, they WANT Harleys because of a lifestyle, an interest in motorcycle culture, or because it is an iconic American brand. People buy motorcycles, sports cars, RVs, etc for enjoyment and not out of necessity. In an economy where people have less and less disposable income, it's pretty dumb to position your company that solely produces products for enjoyment and recreation in such a way that it turns away your customer base. People will find other things to do with what little disposable income they have.
DEI is not a nightmare for HD... The 'backlash' was planned. Harley Davidson is pulling up roots from the US and will eventually end up in Thailand. It's a move that's been planned, bought and paid for, with brick and mortar buildings already up or under construction. HD claims this is a 'temporary exercise.' But who would undertake the expense of construction, that will also mean infrastructure, machinery, and then the people on a payroll. 'That don't sound so temp to me.' Meanwhile, HD has already began to close dealerships, cut off customers and ignore demands for parts and services, for bikes over 10 years old. While aftermarkets may be able to fill in the gaps, the cost of the aftermarket shop, part suppliers and machinists, is staggering. Today's market and economy has many riders parked in the garage, while they tend to the bills and food and gas in the workmobile.
Sure sell your Harley… buy an Indian. Then when Indian go es “woke” too then you can sell your new Indian and loose thousands of dollars 0:43 … where does it end ? This looks like another case of modern 'management' as an entirely self-contained profession. Kids go straight from school to studying management and their first full time job is in low level management. They might progress up the ladder to become CEO of a huge corporation without ever experienced how the product or service is created.
What's that old saying that goes on about trying the same thing expecting different results? I would have thought that after the Beer thing, that other corporates would realise some things are best left untouched due to the high likelihood of pissing off their main customer base. In order to include, or appeal to other markets. a company doesn't need to alter its marketing, or products. It can just add products that are better suited to other markets... Like the Addition of an ADV, running the same engine as the most popular Bike, with a frame & suspension & ergonomics suited to that particular role, and that may sway those who were die hard Harley riders to stick with Harley in their latter days rather than swapping to a BMW GS. Or a genuinely smaller & lighter version of the V twins that meet the international Learner requirements of 600cc and 47hp (compete with the likes of the Suzuki SV650 in other words). otherwise they miss out on the beginner market all together, and those beginners start elsewhere and develop an affinity with other brands. The last thing Any company should do is push a political agenda, because no matter which way that goes, you're going to upset 1/2 of the potential customer base. It doesn't matter what the political agenda is. It could be to feed the trees & other plant life the carbon they need to breathe and grow, which helps to regulate the Earths temperature and feed all living animals, rather than poison the earth with the Cobalt & Lithium mining. Or it could be to reduce the amount of Molecules that are the basis for all life on Earth, and upset the Earths Magnetic field with an abundance of small Magnetic fields, while creating extremely toxic waste that we will never get rid of! Both of those will upset either the intelligent who went to school, learnt & understood the truth, or upset the Stupid who believe every lie they hear so somebody else can Make billions off their stupidity!
I pulled an early retirement from a large corporation who headed down the path of DEI. Quality and Morale suffered as it became more important of who someone was instead of how they performed. When you live through this nonsense, one gets to witness the ill effects of social engineering ruining a quality product. I’ve enjoyed my last two HDs.
@@KennyQuestShow my Dad kept asking me why I didn’t just get a Sportster. I live in a gravel/dirt road. A Sportster wouldn’t hold up to that. Half the price 1/4 of the power. It seems that 90% of the public does not understand. The Corpoarate Board pursues, selects and votes the CEO into their job. The CEO does not pick themselves. If you want to pull back the cover of how this stuff happens, find out who is on the board and running the corporate board.
My video explains this and reveals how Jochen Zeitz as director and chairmen of the board installed himself to the CEO position in 2020.
No need actually to research the boards of products. If the product is not good, which will happen over time automatically if the focus is on DEI and not excellence, the product will lose favor with the customer/potential customer base;
Companies go overseas for two reasons to make things:
He moved Puma’s production from Germany to overseas and increased retail pricing to appear “premium”

Amen.
And this needs to be read by every board member at Harley-Davidson. Well said!
'That don't sound so temp to me.'
Meanwhile, HD has already began to close dealerships, cut off customers and ignore demands for parts and services, for bikes over 10 years old.
While aftermarkets may be able to fill in the gaps, the cost of the aftermarket shop, part suppliers and machinists, is staggering.
Today's market and economy has many riders parked in the garage, while they tend to the bills and food and gas in the workmobile.
This all seems plausible

There isn't one single part of my Sportster I can't replace from an Aftermarket Manufacturer so I don't need to do any business with the Harley Davidson company in the future. I don't need this Woke Assed company, I'm keeping my Old School Sporty so Fuk' em' 🤨.
One of the main reasons my first bike was a sportster and the reason I kept it.
This is so sad to hear, but we hear you;
Watching the MoCo fall into bankrupcy and be sold piecemeal will only strengthen aftermarket companies. Good bye Harley I have made peace with your passing. 35 years riding your machines, the next 20 without you.
That’s one possible outcome
Hey Jerry,
May I suggest buying a new 2024 before the 2025 Pan Asian TLS comes to the USA. (TLS = Thailand Special.)
Hell maybe you can get a decent price when buying, if it is not already too late. Could be everyone else may be thinking the same way. For sure it should hold its value a little being the last year the Pan American was made in the USA.
Good Luck,
Stay Safe
Also there are good deals out there on left over 2023 models
4th turning, choose the right side
What is 4th turning?
Every hundred years divided into 4 quarters when there is a social and cultural upheaval, sadly but usually defined by a major conflict.
Sad to see Harley balls deep in this, great vid.
This looks like another case of modern 'management' as an entirely self-contained profession. Kids go straight from school to studying management and their first full time job is in low level management. They might progress up the ladder to become CEO of a huge corporation without ever experienced how the product or service is created.
Close. He spent 3 years in a ad dept at P&G another 2 heading up puma’s ad division then it’s been CEO world since 1990
What's that old saying that goes on about trying the same thing expecting different results?
The CEO and members have a socialist agenda. The CEO has stated all Harley’s will be electrified by 2035.
DEI Directly Ending Icons
Facts
I’ve owned over 10 Harleys over the years. I’m never buying another one. EVER.
That will be felt!
Americas first -Indian Motorcycle is the obvious option. Also, all Indians for the US market are made in the USA.
Yes they are
Indian will always be made in the USA.
I am proud to ride a built in Japan motorcycles and cars. I have a lot of pride, in not supporting the "Harley Davidson" social causes.
Noted!
😂 Dude
😎 Harley-Davidson now charges EXTRA for black paint ♠️
They do! More ways to profit!
While I’ve been budgeting for a new HD next year, I refuse to support these policies and will spend my dollars elsewhere unless I see the CEO and BoD get replaced.
I like it
Selling your soul for a buck and now a company sells it's soul for a buck.
Zeitz doesn’t believe in divinity
If Indian Motorcycles/Polaris NOW runs a 'trade in your old Harley/cash for clunkers' kind of deal, Harley is finished;
Oh that’s a good campaign
Start a petition to stop the woke CEO.. get him fired Hello Indian motorcycles.
This too will not pass….
Great idea!
@@KennyQuestShow The only way this WOKE crap is going to change is never elect another Demoncrate into office, they have been undermining our Government for 40 years, a little piece at a time until we are socialist or communist country.
Barf, will someone design a time machine so I can get out of this fd up time line? Wtf is wrong with people! We need to band together to stop communism from spreading.
Right! It’s crazy
It seems to me that the motor company is courting a segment of society that, for the most part, wouldn't think of riding a motorcycle to begin with. As for me, I'm not gonna let their social or political statements deter me from enjoying my lifelong passion for riding; life is just too short to let their marketing squabbles take even one minute of mine. ☮✌
Well said. Having followed this for the past two weeks I’m ready to get back to riding and making videos on the joys of riding
I'm glad my last Harley-Davidson was a 1972 Sportster xLch. That was back when men were men and called each other Mac.
I like my 21 sportster. Brings a smile to my face. However Harley’s CEO does not
Taking the company down from the inside.
Inside out and upside down.
What's going to happen is that people will buy used bikes and keep them running with aftermarket parts. Harley as a bike ain't going nowhere as a company. Who knows?
That’s what the consensus is.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching!
Probably have to comply with social DEI to stay on stock exchange. Blackrock making all companies comply or face being dropped from equities markets.
Yes they are. The devil inside
Another HD owner here. I won't spend another penny in a HD dealership until CEO and board replaced AND they truly stop their woke shenanigans. Their propaganda response is pure BS. Regardless, my next new bike will be an Indian, unless they go full-stupid woke as well. HD done f'd up!!
It will take several quarters of slow units to dealer shipments as well as low parts and merch factory shipments before the board and their image is held accountable for the lack of sales.
@@KennyQuestShow No doubt. Sad reality.
Like you said. Companies are just out here to make money, and they have to follow societal norms to do that 🤷🏻♀️ Plus they’re a hard sell for younger riders as it is, so we can call it targeted marketing if it makes us feel better 😂
You nailed it. Too much too soon for their current client base. Maybe in 20 years the backlash won’t be as much.
And i almost bought a new Harley……. I’m looking at Indians now and wow they are amazing.
Next episode I visit the Indian dealer
All they had to do is make great bikes
Simple enough, right?
Union wouldn't let them
