      Ppl need to understand we DIDN'T vote for tRump in 2016. Hillary won by 3 Million votes.
      The Russians messed w/ the EC & THAT'S how tRump became Fake Prez.
      The fact that EC trumps (in 2016 it was literally) the ppl's vote is disgusting & should be gotten rid of. It's NOT the will of the ppl! 💙🙀😾💙

      I can’t tell you how many people don’t know how the process works. I’ve come across people who don’t know how gerrymandering affects or even that the local voting is also where you vote in the national election. I’ve learned a lot from this channel and refer people here often.

    • @breathefree.
      @breathefree. 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      The full story of how this happened in Michigan is worth hearing.
      1. Citizens joined forces under the banner of "Voters Not Politicians" to create a ballot proposal calling for a Citizens Redistricting Commission, which could undo gerrymandering. We collected over 425,000 signatures to place the proposal on the ballot in 2018.
      2. Citizens canvassed statewide, educating voters about the proposed change and encouraging them to vote yes. It passed 61% in favor and 39% opposed. A voting rights ballot proposal also passed, enabling all people to vote by mail. Little did we know then how important this would be in 2020 due to the pandemic.
      3. Meanwhile, in response to trump getting elected in 2016, many women ran for public office in 2018 and won. I had never previously seen so many people canvassing for candidates.
      4. The Citizens Redistricting Commission was formed and after the 2020 census, they drew new district lines.
      5. The 2022 election was the first with new districts. The outcome was that the proportion of Democrat & Republican representatives now mirrored the collective votes for each party. Dems gained the majority in the state legislature after decades of gerrymandered Republican majorities.
      6. Also in 2022, a citizen-led ballot proposal to protect reproductive rights was on the ballot, along with expanded voting rights. Both passed.
      7. The newly-elected Dem majority got to work right away, passing legislation to repeal a 1931 law that criminalized abortion, expanded protections for LGBTQ+ people, economic relief for low-income household, and more. In 2023 they passed 4 pieces of legislature to address gun violence.
      8. A key point about the ballot proposal protecting reproductive rights .... it includes a range of rights including IVF. Advocates knew how far Republicans would reach to take rights away and built those protections into the proposal. And ... it was an amendment to the state constitution, which cannot be overturned by the state legislature.
      Michigan is a case study of how citizens worked in coalition to take back their power and then elected people to represent the majority. And that majority is delivering for the people.

No Medicare, medicaid or social security! That's a dictator and that's his goal. No constitution, no democracy! He's stated bits of this for the last 2 years but the gop is to crazy to understand! Two different "rich buddies" of his have said in interviews their first job will be to get the people that has "been after trump" these last 2 years. That's a dictator!

Bush, Nixon, Reagan, Obama, Clinton and many others of both parties have been accused of being dictators who are an immediate threat to the Constitution. We hear this same crap every four years from both sides and the only thing that changes are the names. I'm not falling for this psych out scare tactics game. The issues are important and both candidates are deeply flawed. In other words, it's the same garbage we deal with each and every election in our lifetime.

    It's about backing your team.
    The owners are poor
    The coaches are stupid
    The players have never played
    The stadium is falling apart
    The cheerleaders are clumsy
    When you ask those you know backing that team, so who are you going to back next season? Their reply is utterly baffling.
    They all say that's my team I will never give up on them.
    You can then only walk away shaking your head. Thinking, it not sports It's much more important to everyone's lives, not just yours.

      The problem with that idea is a bad team never improves if they sell out every game without needing to impress in any way.
      Until 2016 I was always a left leaning independent. Yet with the show I've watched leading up to and since 16 I can't reward candidates whom I no longer feel I can trust.
      In the past I always tried to know who I was voting for and tried to vote for the best individual to fill the seat being contested. Due to the idea that people vote only for their team regardless, the people filling the seats feel zero fear of losing it. So they have little or no regard for those they represent.
      The team gets better with better players that try harder.

    • @sarahhearn-vonfoerster7401

      A sad comparison: you should always support your SPORTS team...rebuild them. Democracy is different. We never take Democracy for granted. No matter your team, Democracy always tops it.

      @jssomewhere6740 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sarahhearn-vonfoerster7401
      That's exactly the point. People look at politics the same as their sports team.
      If you want the team to improve you don't inspire that by selling out every game regardless of the effort they provide. If the political party was held accountable for the actions they take then things would be diffrent. If GQP politicians thought they could lose their seats because they were acting like clowns then maybe they would stop acting like clowns.
      Think about the border bill debacle recently, some people in Congress should be out due to that. The funding for Ukraine should cost GQP seats. If for no other reason than the US made a promise to Ukraine when we convinced them to give up the nukes and the Russian military equipment. The promise was If Ukraine was attacked by the Russians the US would be there for them. Yet not passing the funding shows our allies that the US lacks integrity.
      Those type of things should cost the Republicans seats in Congress, the Senate, and state governments. If it worked that way things would be very different.
      Maybe you should read my original comment again.
