- Cleaning and lubricating the chain on your Yamaha MT-03 or R3 is quick and easy. There are a few tips to do it the right way: ride for a bit to warm up your chain, pre-wipe, brush and use a chain cleaner to remove grime, let cleaner dry before applying lube, wipe excess lube, and finally, wait a bit before resuming riding to reduce lube fling.

Yes, great advice, I complete this every 300 miles ish. Also, it’s a good idea to remove the plastic guard covering the front sprocket and remove all the gunge that accumulates there. You’ll be surprised how much there is.
Yes, I have done that on other bikes but not yet on the MTO3. Do you do it every chain cleaning?
I think every 1000 miles is sufficient as it’s a bit fiddly to get the little bolts back. BTW, great channel, I never get tired of watching anything MT 03 related. Best wishes from a wet and windy England.
Will you make coolant and brake fluid change?
Eventually yes. I hope to show all basic maintenance.
How often are you doing the chain? My manual says every 500 miles but I usually do about 1500
With modern O-ring chains you can go longer than the manual says if you don't ride in the rain. If you do get the chain wet, then stick to 500 to 600 miles.
@@mt03experience what about time ? if bike was sitting in garage 3 years i guess it needs the chain maintenance right?
