Never thought I'd see the day when Crossfield is pumping 7 irons 200 yards. Nice work on the speed training.

I'm nearly 65 yrs old with at 10 hdcp and I'm sold on the DCBs. I'll take more forgiveness all-day-long! Hitting the 8-iron around 155 yds, which is perfect for me!

I love these so much…. I ended up gaming the Apex 21’s, and also getting the DCB’s as a future set, when my game gets older.
Both are 4 - AW stiff flex. Solid forged feel, very forgiving. Larger size gives more contact confidence.

Very good review Mark. Thank you. Got to see the club heads from many angles which a lot of reviews don't do as well. I want to SEE it, all angles. Particularly sole widths, top lines and offsets. And stats wise offline deviations I also want to see which you did. And the pressure of the game at the end is well like real golf. Excellent.

I would like to see a comparison between the Ping 425 irons and the DCB’s as I’m guessing they are aimed at the same players.

Thanks for this, Mark. Late to this video, but just got fitted. After trying out lots of irons, I ended up with the Apex DCBs. While I didn't get the numbers you can get, I was able to gain distance over my existing clubs, which is what I need for my game. I'm okay with the reduced spin rate and like the forgiveness and solid feel. Cheers!

Apex are always a good looking club, think they'll push the combo angle on the apex21 and apex dcb.
Same message as always really, get fit and play what suits you best if you want something new and shiny for 2021.
    Cheers Mark

The previous versions of the Apex iron is pretty much perfect looking at address for me. Just beautiful yet not scary. Have never had the opportunity to hit them, but they would certainly be on my list for a fit, with a hope that they would suit me.

Depends on your level and your swing and mindset. Ego leads people off lower indexes to anything with pro on it and in reality the middle one would win on course every time for consistency and scoring. Human nature.

i had been testing the three different 5DCB, 7APEX and 9APEX PRO. i had my mind made up on getting the tripple play combo set but the 6 month back orders quickly changed my mind. I ended up with the 6-PW Apex 21's with AMT Black shafts and the black Lamkin UTi Chev grips and they look good. Ordered them on a Thurs night got them the next Wed. I bought 48, 54, 58 jaws MD5 wedges with the blue lamkin UTi chev grips and my bag is looking and laying pretty rad right now.

After a couple of fittings, I went with the DCB's in my 4,5 irons, and Apex 21 from 6 to PW, and a Hybrid Pro 21 - 3. They felt really good, compared to my 12 year old Taylormades.

  • @dbcooper62

Great review. I've got an older set of Apex Pros (PW-6) with an Apex 5 iron in bag during the playing season. This time of year my old XHot 5 & 6 irons are in the bag for some added forgiveness. I used to game the XHot irons, but the distance dispersion was too problematic. I suspect the DCB would be have same problem but if I was to go to a 3 or 4 iron instead of using a hybrid, the DCB might be a nice option.
I'm a low/mid handicapper (just about back to single digits), so I would recommend that mid handicappers give the Apex Pros a test if they're in the market. They're actually surprising easy hit.

I recently did a club fitting with my mind on getting the Mizuno 225 or 223 and I wanted to see about maybe a combo set of T100s and T200. I am not a Callaway fan at all they are 4th or 5th on my list of club brands I like. Well the fitter handed me an Apex 21 and for me out of all the clubs it felt the best and preformed the best. So I will order a set of Apex irons next week! I still am in shock.

    APEX PRO
I've been gaming the Apex Pro 14 for 6 years even when I was a high handicapper because I like the feel and performance of the club. Now with the Apex Pro 21 coming out I might test the club when lockdown in Malaysia ends because the looks is seriously better and cleaner than my current Apex Pro 14. Might even look to combo this set in the 4-5 irons with the standard Apex.

Another awesome video Mark 🤟 I currently game taylormade mp forged, old but I love them, but you really know when you hit it badly :s I would like to think the Apex is best for me, but will probably use your advice and blend my 5 & 4 iron with a cavity, giving a bit more forgiveness and help on the longer irons, especially out of semi or dodgy lies. Time will tell with a fitting, appreciate the honest no BS review as always!

Question- AI design puts CG etc in precise positions with precise tungsten placing, but surely that is in a given setup? So what happens when you use a different weighted shaft, more grip tape, thicker grip, bend the loft to suit your custom fit???? Surely then if you're using a different setup than what was tested, the AI is completely wrong for your setup?????

    @chetlovesmer9549 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey Mark, Enjoyed the video. You have a real bias toward CB irons and these so called "Low Spinners". That in theory fly for miles. Look closely at your data. I think you'll see the quote unquote low spinners actually fly pretty close to the exact same distance as the higher spinners with the same iron. CB irons, especially modern SGI irons are designed to vary the spin to help make up for strike and therefore produce a consistent distance. NOT to maintain the spin and allow the distance to vary. Look at the two shots into the green with the Pro model. They vary by almost 1300 revs... nearly 33 percent. Where as the shots with the DCB were all really close in spin. The final shot you hit into the green was dead on the average spin and dead on the average distance from the other shots you hit.

Very good review Mark. Really liked it.
The Apex Pro will be the club I will be fitted for this year. Excited!

I would love to see a Apex-Apex DCB blend combo compared to a Mizuno 921 forger-HMP combo (using the "easier" irons up to i6 perhaps)!

Apex for me. But would love to see them hit with light weight regular shafts. Something like 45 grams. There are a few of us seniors out in golf land...lol

Apex pro for me, simple and the thin top line is what I like 👌
