The "Fusion Reborn" Movie is basically an Alternate Storyline of the Majin Buu Saga even while it was still going on Television at the Time.
But Goku talked about how Majin buu was the only one to push him to ssj3.

If that was the Case, then Goku and Vegeta would've been Dead forever where there would be no "Wrath of the Dragon," no "End of Z" Arc (where Bulla/Bra would not Exist), no DBGT or even DBS, because they all can't Exist without Goku and Vegeta.

It was an alternate universe that was made while the Buu Saga was still being made but it also cannot happen in the mainline story, there is just simply no spot where Goku can or would go off to participate in an Other World Tournament while Buu was still around, but they're dead so it can't take place after the Buu arc either

This us the art style I hoped the Dragon ball super would keep. But I understand being consistent to this kind of quality is incredibly high demand.
Actually I heard the budget for movies was only a Little bit bigger then a budget for the movie. What they had was the time to make the movies look nice.(Because they only had to make one movie or maybe two in a whole year)
So the slight increase in budget and the longer deadlines made the moves animation quality look real nice. (But not all Dbz movies look nice... So sometimes it wasnt enough)

Either way, this dub makes it clear that it takes place after the buu saga( Or atleast that’s the closest you can get as no movie truly fits perfect with the actual cannon for obvious reasons), as goku says something like,” You’re the only person to push me this far asides from majin buu”, after transforming into ssj3 . So by now Vegeta has already seen goku fight kid buu and admitted that he is “number 1”. so he actually has respect for him(Not that he never did, but now he’s saying it verbally for a second time).
I don’t get how you find this corny, unless you just think anything that isn’t 100% true to the original material is bad. This is a great moment of acknowledgment that we don’t get to see very often between them, A literal homie moment

If Gogeta was in the show like Vegito, they wouldn’t make him win since it would be an anticlimactic end for a long arc and if Vegito was in a movie where they want him to win, then he’d win.
Out of universe, yeah, if Toriyama wanted Gogeta to be absorbed, then he would’ve but if we are going by in universe logic where if Gogeta was used to fight Buuhan, they likely would’ve failed since they barely succeeded with the 1 hour time limit. It took longer than expected because Buu was so stupid. A similar thing happens with Vegito vs Broly since they would’ve beaten Broly or even killed him since Goku and Vegeta wouldn’t mess up doing the potara fusion a couple of times.

I think that, the issue is that the Time Chamber is more of a pocket dimension while otherworld is just a whole other plane of being
There's, like, a connection between the living world and otherworld, but they don't exist on top of each other, so it's a bit different than breaking out of just a pocket dimension
Thing with time chamber is it's a independent dimension inside the living world .
While other world exist in a plane transcending dimensions and time.
And correct me if I am wrong you either have to be some high ranking in hireachy or to have some permission to enter the afterlife as a living.

Yeah I can agree with u here Sage, I do like this movie for the fights but it felt like they wasted time and energy on things that ain’t matter. If I could redo this movie I’d keep most of the beginning but once Janemba and the other villains show up? How bout instead of the fat janemba fight being as long as it was, and cutting to the boys fighting hitler, instead the gang immediately try to summon Shenron, and the villains peep the dragon getting summoned and per Freeza’s knowledge, assumes what happened on Namek is happening again here, and heads off with the Ginyus. The other villains know Freeza is on that timing and follow him, so we’d basically see every movie villainous team try to take the wish, with only Gohan, Videl, Goten and Trunks and maybe Piccolo can pull up to keep the villains away from Shenron, and protect civilians, meanwhile Goku and Vegeta are dealing with the mega threat of Janemba. Power scaling be damned, let Videl at least handle like, the deadzone villains or somethin, or maybe have her be a handicap on Gohan so he has to juggle handling villains as well as making sure Videl can get away from anyone who noticed she’s free eats. Maybe Gohan rushes to save her, gets distracted or interrupted, and THIS is when Piccolo pulls up to save Videl, in classic movie Piccolo fashion.
This gives Earth some stakes and the other characters something to do, and will make the Janemba fight a bit less long-winded cause imo it goes on just a bit too long for a movie that could’ve been doing so much more with its concept, characters and runtime.
WAIT ANOTHER IDEA: instead of the entire Veku fight scene we instead cut to Earth right? Okay so the boys can’t fuse uninterrupted, similar to their dads, what with so many villains, so Gohan tries to give them an opening but this leaves Videl in danger long enough for someone to notice and attack, Gohan has to leave the boys, but this is when PICCOLO appears to save her and give Gohan the chance to give the boys the opportunity to fuse, and then both the boys AND their dads nail the fusions in both Earth and Hell complete with a parallel light show, we see Gotenks go in for the attack to sweep all the villains, and cut away to Gogeta, beginning his assault on Janemba just like in the og movie. Next time we cut to Earth after Janemba is defeated, we see the gang winded and celebrating, flying home like in the movie

Honestly, there are 2 amazing things this movie did at the time of its release. It was something that FELT like Dragon Ball in all of its parts, from action, comedy, drama, and just plain cool moments, it felt like Dragon Ball after it hasn’t gotten anything major (excluding the OVA in like 2008). Not only that, but opened up the series to an even larger degree. Full on other UNIVERSES to explore and stories to potentially tell, and bringing a new hierarchy of divine order, and power possible. Just made me absolutely enthralled with Dragon Ball again and what could happen.

The thing with them sensing gogeta was just showing gogeta reached a tier of power so high he alone could be sensed on earth. They couldnt sense janemba or goku when he went ssj3 and shook the afterlife, but gogeta being born was enough to be felt even BEYOND the afterlife. And at that point if they could sense their dads but not the opponent they're facing, clearly they knew gogeta needed no help 😂

If I’m remembering correctly, the heavy line work and zanier style of the living world is to contrast with the more serious storyline in Hell. Also, two kids fighting a version of Hitler probably has something to do with the more kid friendly style, they’re making fun of one of the worst people who ever lived.

You said something about frieza having not trained in this movie but the reason he didnt train here is because he hadnt been resurrected before. When he found out he could and he knew the frieza force still existed even while he was dead he trained under the assumption he would get revived again. Thats just a guess tho idk.

Unfortunately, saying wasted character nowadays does not necessarily mean much, anyone that is not Goku and Vegeta are wasted in modern DB, even Goku and Vegeta are wasted, not in terms of relevancy, but in terms of their character writing.
I would also suggest that Videl had it worse because she actually liked fighting. Chi Chi exclusively became a fighter just for the purposes of meeting Goku in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai and reminding him of his promise.
