Those are the main things to consider for rewatchability. BoG is more lore heavy.
Dbs broly has the best fight scenes, animation and spectacle in ALL of Dragon Ball which makes it the most rewatchable

Haven't seen a person say this movie sucks, this is the best DB movie for the majority of fans.
There are a few, one's who complained about the CGI and so on. Dragonball fans and Sonic fans are similar in this regard. They love switching up on things after a year or so

I was under the impression most of us agreed that Dbs Broly is one of if not the best db movie.
DB fans constantly switch up opinions every so often just for no reason. It’s always happened and it will continue to happen, people just like to be contrarians.

Every time something gets super popular, others will die on the hill that it’s actually bad or trash just for the sake of being “different.” Some do have valid criticisms but a lot just wanna stand out.
It’s not controversial since the majority of people do like the movie. To be controversial implies that a larger section doesn’t like it and that it’s a wildly debated thing, which this topic isn’t. But there is a section of the community that doesn’t like it. I’m a part of that very small section who didn’t like it even on release for quite a few reasons. If you’re interested and want a list of reasons and want me to explain why I and others don’t like the movie, let me know.

This movie slaps, there's nothing else to say. The buildup is awesome, the fights are brutal, set up Brolly to be a potential ally, and made Gogeta appear. It's pure gravy!

kinda. the line of "call me kakarot" was only in the english dub, in japanese the line was "my name's goku or kakarot", so in stuff like the manga where it more goes off of japanese translation instead of english dub, broly just calls goku "goku". but who knows, when (if) dbs comes back broly will call goku "kakarot" in the dub

The fact that this movie, has definitely the BEST animation quality we have ever seen in the entire franchise, not the best but a very VERY good story telling about the saiyans, this new version of Broly (which is absolutely better than the version made by Toei), Goku's origin and how Frieza is the main reason of everything that happens in the movie, having a great build up to the fight, making BROLY AND BARDOCK CANON IN THE SERIES, and yet there's people that dislikes it.

I gotta say when it comes to backstory, it being more centered on Vegeta very much helps. Maybe I'm stupid but I always thought that the idea that Broly being focused on Goku and his tears being connected to his anger at the Saiyans or whatever was reach of the century. Not only does everything for Super Broly make more sense, it's also just made more engaging imo. The only real thing Z Broly has over Super is how much you felt how ravenous Z Broly was. Now obviously that wasn't the angle Super was going for and I respect that but I could feel every attack Broly landed on Goku and the others.
One of my favourite things from the movie no one really talks about is the repugnant bit. I know it makes Goku look a little childish butI kinda like how Frieza gave him the definition and he decides to use the new word he learned at the end of the movie. Just found that neat. If you want an actual cool moment, the middle of the Goku Broly fight where they just start chanting there names while Broly rises surrounded by green energy and Goku bursts into Super Saiyan is genuinely hyper than most of the Gogeta stuff (that I still loved for the record). That's my hot take of the day.

I love the backstory here because we see each of the 3 saiyans' origins, it's a story of fathers and sons. We see Vegeta's origins with his father, his race, and Freeza, then Broly and Paragus, and finally at the tail end of Freeza's rule over the saiyans, Goku, Bardock and Gine.
I like how the green on screen is reflecting off your shirt and turning it into it's own green screen haha. Authentic touch!
The fact that in Gokus ssb transformation there’s a frame of mui is the craziest (probably) non intentional foreshadow I’ve ever seen

Something I noticed until it was pointed out, the ost that plays when Planet Vegeta is being destroyed somewhat mirrors the track that plays when Beerus is about to destroy Planet Earth.
I loved how cool and powerful Broly was in the older movies, but the backstory, character motives and animation/sound design is much better in the super film, also Gogeta is so cool too

I'll never be able to replicate the sheer CHILLS I got when Goku starts screaming during the ragdoll sequence. Up until this point we haven't seen Goku losing to the pain of a fight since OG Dragonball. Broly is a superior character in the DBS rendition but og Broly was special for the same reason that earlier scene gave me chills, he was the first villain to legitimately surpass Goku in terms of power. Even Cell wasn't stronger than Goku, homeboy just gave up so his son could acknowledge his own potential

I like both versions but I will say the thing that made Z Broly in the first movie so popular which is something Second Coming ruined is that on top of him being OP, he was talking hella shit while eviscerating the strongest Z Fighters; “Kakarot, how much do you love your son”, saying to Vegeta after clotheslining tf out of him” So you really are all talk” and then to Piccolo “What do you expect from a true freak” the first movies Broly really gave you a feeling of “how are they gonna win?” I rewatched it a month ago and had that feeling and plot really is the only reason Goku won 😂that’s the reason I still love Z Broly from the first movie but I also like Super Broly even tho I think he should’ve been an antagonist longer or at least under Frieza’s control for another movie or so

1. This Movie being focused on the Saiyan Society in the first Half & on Goku, Vegeta, Frieza & Broly in the 2nd half is a Decision I'm very fond of.
Broly's Backstory makes him easier to sympathize with. At the End of the Movie, you don't want him to die.
2. The Music is unconventional, but when you get past that, every Track's a Banger.
3. The Animation is amazing, the 2D stuff looks modern, but has a touch of the old DBZ Anime Look imo.
The 3D Elements in this Movie are well implemented. I've seen it 5 Times & never noticed something out of place.
It's a huge Upgrade from Ressurection F.
Also, that POV Scene was bonkers. 🔥🔥
4. Vegeta doesn't get humiliated. He has a great Fight with Broly, his God Form is awesome & he gets to shine.
Compared to the Ending of Resurrection F & especially the Goku Black Arc, he gets off way better here.
I hate this misconception that broly was some big idiot in the original broly movie. if you watch it, Broly wasn't incoherent. Once he powered up and freed himself from the collar, he was talking spicy to the saiyans.

I like this version of Broly way better. It highlights his mortality by having friendship with a creature, and not made Broly to hate Goku just because of unknown reasons. This Broly was made to fight by his father and not evil like the other version. But can’t stand the background repetition of “Go Broly, Go” and “Gogeta go”

Liked, commented, subscribed. Sick ass recommendation TH-cam. Some people wildin' I remember how much backlash there was right away that i went into the theatre in America skeptical cause of all the people that saw the Japanese one and hated it... So sat through watched and replaying while I comment this. King Vegeta's whole thing is he wants to overthrow Frieza. He fought for freedom not to become enslaved to a more powerful force. I loved his portrayal yeah he's petty but he just wants his people to stand atop he genuinely was scared of the legend. He was hoping it was his son, cause he thinks he's a good man and raised him right. But seeing the actual baby and how nothing on that planet could stop him in a full moon upon birth. Was a precaution a petty ass one. But still.
Super Broly immediately reminds you where the Saiyans were and tells a story through combat that tells you where they are now. Through the point of view of an outside character. To him everything they do becomes spectacular just as it was to us as kids. We see their transformations through Broly's eyes and he sees colors we've never even noticed before (like they weren't there but it's fucking beautiful) Vegeta is this dominant force that he can't lay a hand on. And seeing him get punched away is one of my favorite moments in all of Dragon Ball.. That first person POV is fucking spectacular too. No dragon ball story since Namek did a better job of telling a story through pure combat and I daresay Broly did it better than everything between Gohan kicking Dodoria and Goku transforming into the Legendary Warrior of the Saiyan Race. But we know he's not at all that pure cause he fights for very selfish reasons. Which is awesome that he's flawed. Don't get me wrong.
Bardock comes off so intelligent like the scientist Vegeta called him. And Bardock respecting Prince Vegeta as a young man and knowing that goes backwards too is AWESOME.
Broly tells you the story of the actual pure hearted Saiyan in their universe. Seeing him survive the Soul Punisher/Stardust Breaker was just given a smirk and moved on. Cause it respected the viewers knew what it meant. Gogeta then does something most people still haven't noticed cause it's told in pure combat.
A fusion can never power down. And Gogeta would never waste stamina to power up without transforming cause he knows everything they do. When Shenron is summoned he goes Blue Evolution when you see his aura come back out it's two flames until he weaponizes his transformation to make physics his literal b.... If you pause before the Kamehameha you can see both auras spinning around him separated by a pretty large gap to make it obvious. He uses the full body version Gohan used in Cell that actually threw his transformation at him. (Gohan had already mastered sleeping in Super Saiyan and he ends in base form).
There's also a moment where you see the Kamehameha is first just a big ass beam in front of his hands before they show his sura shoot forward too about two seconds later. You then actually see him throw off his extra aura after he fires his Kamehameha too. Like dude pulled up and as much as the universe has grown in power Gogeta still makes everything they've ever done look like child's play, exactly like he did in Fusion Reborn. He pulled up on a legendary warrior and said.

yea basically everyone agrees with that, super has been great when it comes to movies, they are all top tier db movies besides resurrection f. When I rewatched the og broly movie I was kinda shocked at how boring most of the movie was, I used to think it was one of the top z movies but i feel like there was a bit of nostalgia bias, I just find movies like fusion reborn much better and it has aged really well over the years

After watching the original Broly movie I can still say that Super’s version does it for me. While Z had the evil you like to hate, Super had an actual sympathetic backstory and you actually cared about him that comparing the final battles went from “I hope Broly dies” to “I hope Broly survives”.
That scene where goku powers up to blue, you see him almost struggle to get it due to brolys Binding technique still slowing goku down. Right as gokus hair goes almost ui in color we see a huge flash of green kinda breaking off from goku and then he goes blue

I agree film is clearly amazing and we got another full blood Sayian in the mix who could easily fill in the destroyer god angle because he understands life and balance growing up on that harsh planet
This movie's animations a master piece
The damn movie made me fight figuratively explode with bliss a billion million times.
I feel like people think its teasing at 31:22 that he turns silver for "Ultra instinct" but really he's been trying to tap into that form since the tournament of power and hasn't gotten it yet.
So from what I feel or think is that he tried here again to go ultra instinct again but couldn't so he went to blue instead. Not really teasing but just reality that Goku cant exceed blue because that'd be non-canon from the ending of super, still as of yet since he's not being pushed to his limits enough or has not trained enough to entirely control going Ultra instinct by will alone.
