Don’t underestimate the value of vintage fabrics, yarns and ephemera - some of us are desperate for this stuff! It does have value. The dusty old lockers are by FAR the most interesting to me 🫶🏻 Excited for this series 🤞🏼
Please understand that all of the yarn and the magazines and all of the fabric/quilt stuff is precious to those of us who craft. That can all go in the auction in lots. Or at the yard sales.
I know sewing, crocheting and crafts are not your thing but, it is to some of us. My mom has been gone since 1984. This reminded me of her so much that I cried as you threw boxes in your van. I’m pushing 60 and have told my relatives that I don’t want my stuff to ever be put in storage. I get rid of stuff often. The more I watch these, the more I refuse to let some stranger go through my stuff. Love your videos but, I just don’t want someone else going through my things!!!
I do yell at him often because as a crafter, I see the want or need that could useful. Or for senior centers etc. I hate the thought of clothes and a lots of things he trashes. No money for him I know but as a Christian something’s should be considered. Love ya Jack.
My gf’s mom was has hoarder. She had a seacan full of fabric, wool, yarn, catalogs etc. one summer my gf sold $10,000 worth of stuff. She still has at least that much left to sell.
This video reminds me that I have told my son if I ever find out that he gave all my quilting, sewing stuff, and yarns to a thrift store, I'd haunt him his whole life. Those items do have buyers. I know it isn't your "thing", but all you have to do is advertise that you have a yarn, thread, fabric lot, you would draw the right buyers who will buy that kind of thing. Those vintage handmade blankets do have a market with vintage buyers.
I would have loved looking through this locker. Some of the old crochet, knitting and sewing patterns may be worth something. She looked like a clever and creative lady.
Quilting and Sewing is a billion dollar industry. Many love vintage books. Quilters love buying fabric and sewing notions. People who knit and crochet love to buy yarn cheap. I would advertise sewing notions , fabric, yarn at quilting and sewing shows. I see a lot of value.... lol
In the sixties and seventies and before it was cheaper to make your own clothes and your families clothes than to buy them. I remember my mum constantly knitting or sewing to clothe us three kids and to make dresses for special occasions. What a fascinating locker. Thanks for showing us.
I have that exact Singer travel sewing machine. My mother bought it in the 1940s. I have used it myself for over 50 yrs, including making clothes for my 1970s boutique. I have it set up and use it now for all my sewing projects. It's perfect! I wish I was close by to buy it from you to have an extra one.
hey jack, Lori from Seal Beach here. I googled that agriculture cert....one of 'em uncirculated going for 15 dollars online! You never know. Love this kind of locker. Regular stuff, old stuff, from regular people... cool!
Hi great video, just an idea I saw another storage buyer use a blower to knock the dust off .amazing the job the blower did, he would take items from the locker and blow the dust off before looking in the boxes. Did a great job.
Those little doilies are crochet work that can be used as coasters or to set trinkets on some Sometimes you make a lot of them and put them together to make tablecloths for the dining room or even bedspreads have also seen them to make bed canopies or bed skirts. Very tedious working with the cotton thread. I know I used to make them. Now that I had my cataracts removed and can see again I might make more Christmas snowflakes or some dream catchers. I'm 75 and still have some of this old books even some from the 40's I got at a yard sale
The second Singer machine I believe was a 99k. You can get more than $50 for that. Depending on condition closer to $150 to s200. Take some time to clean the dust off with sewing machine oil and never water. The gold decals will fade to silver. Also consider talking to someone who knows the difference between crochet yarn and knitting yarn. Hopefully someone can help you sort through the sewing tools so when it is time they will be correctly lotted up.
My husband found a unit FULL of yarn. It was box after box after box of yarn. I was SO irritated! Turns out people really love yarn. He sold a ton on EBay And then the rest at the flea market. Safe to say he made a thousand or more on the $10 yarn unit, haha.
I’m thinking that’s the way she supported herself doing the sewing and crocheting. I myself would Love to have a quilt or something crochet that old. And those books Love it. There’s a lot of people out here that love those kind of things definitely.
Jack, would you put patterns and old sewing and crochet booklets on whatnot. I'll pray I'm watching so I can bid on them. Love watching you go through boxes. Always fun to see what you find. Thanks, Jack, love your channel.😊
Those vintage crochet blankets in the last box could be worth a bit to help recover costs. The buying interest in vintage fine crafts like lacemaking, crochet, embroidery and fine cross stitch has grown over the years since retail places are asking the earth for machine manufactured cr*p from overseas.
It was a pleasure meeting you , wishing you continued success and positive progress with your health keep up the great video so much knowledge we all appreciate 😊
That was a food stamp you found. I haven't held one of those in my hands since the late 1970s. Those were a life saver for several years after my dad had back surgery.
Sewing and craft haul!!! MY kinda storage!! I have a Feather Weight that my best friend gave me and its Awesome!! I love it! That was Food stamps before EBT cards. If you put together boxes of fabric and boxes of sewing notions, put one price on the box. It will sell at your Flea Markets. I know I feel like I hit the jackpot with a locker like this.
I have a missionary that does crafts with dozens of groups of children in a section of the country that sufferers from poverty. We supply the crafting supplies so if you sell the yarn in kits, I will be interested 😊. Also the embroidery hoops are great for crafts😊
Looks like Mamacita was put in a nursing home, and said "Don't throw my sewing stuff away!!" Mom had 40 huge boxes of yarn in her house when she passed, so I feel your pain. Some of those old crafting magazines sure look interesting to me!! Keep up the good work, Jack! So glad you're back on your game and healthy!!
Those old crochet and other sewing/craft books are sellable! Old patterns too. I saw a couple of those iron on packets for embroidery. Lord knows I don't have room for any more, but it was fun looking!
with the rising costs of yarn and fabric, you may be surprised how fast it will go, flashback time, the heart shaped wicker with paper and the blue satin box with jewelry I recognized as things in my life, definitely a 70's 80's storage unit, my mom had quite the collection of Workbasket magazines, it was a staple in a housewives home back then
Jack, you have gold in that storage unit. We woman that sew and crochet would pay good money for the majority of items. The crochet magazines sell very well especially Work Basket!
People like to buy stuff to decorate their homes from back in the 50s and 60s and 70s so that blender and mixers can opener and stuff like that you use sale online after advertising it. I love this video and seeing all this stuff from my childhood memories. Awesome 🤩
This locker was fun!! As a crafter, especially into crocheting all the vintage books were interesting. Not sure if they went thru the auction at the time of this video. Will watch for.
If you separate the sewing stuff from all of that yarn you can make a decent profit off of both. The fabric looks good for quilting and that is good money as well. It is heavier to ship but people will pay the shipping. Any finished blankets or afghan’s will sell well. I think you will make more money then you expect on this locker.
Wow, Jack!! There's so much dust in that locker, that I started coughing here in NJ!! 😂🤣 But yeah, you made back your money in that antique sax alone! Nice!
Hello from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! This locker was interesting but really very dusty! And apparently the next two will also bring their share of dust! For some videos we can call you "Dusty Jack"!
Looks like my mom's storage after she died. Even though I was interested in her yarn things, the material was for quilting. I looked up groups that made quilts for hospice and premises, and donated all the sewing and material to them!
I subscribed to Workbasket magazine back in the late '70s early '80s. Lots of vintage patterns will pop up in those old issues. Great find! And I learned to sew on my mom's black Singer machine just like that. It was stored in a similar case.
❤❤❤❤ Blessings and Love to all family friends and subscribers have an awesome day today and always everyone. Love in the house from Trinidad West Indies ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
And oh my gosh... I learned to play the saxophone in the 60s on my uncle's silver model. Very similar to the one you just found. Great memories for me in this locker!!
First time I've seen Turlock mentioned in a video! My aunt and cousin live there. All I can say about the city is you can really smell the cattle ranches on warm summer evenings.
I knew immediately that was an alto saxophone. I played sax in middle school 100 years ago. 😂 They're actually worth some money, but that one looks like it needs replating. Doesn't affect the sound though. Some crafters would LOVE all those old crochet magazines!
I love your unwavering dedication and your kindness to all. Please forgive me if I give advise, but the nurse (and mom) in me begs you to be extra cautious with lockers that have an extraordinary dust content like this one. Wearing an appropriate filter mask is so important after your major surgery. We want you around to bring joy to your family, friends, and all of us who have grown to care about you!
That Feather Weight sewing machine is a real treasure. I never should have sold mine! It sewed everything, including Naugahyde boat covers. My Sears barely sews denim. Found the Feather weight being sold here in Ohio for $800.
The sewing stuff is very valuable especially the finished pieces. Those books are in demand for the older crochet patterns. I make a good amount from vtg yarns books and especially vtg fabrics you would be amazed.

I agree please don't put in landfill I'm a crafter and stuff is expensive give to a school or seniors home
My gf’s mom was has hoarder. She had a seacan full of fabric, wool, yarn, catalogs etc. one summer my gf sold $10,000 worth of stuff. She still has at least that much left to sell.

Wow, that 1st locker was for me!!!! Crochet books, yarn, thread!!!!!
Same! Especially all that crochet thread. It's expensive these days.
For me too! Loved it! ❤
Fabric and feather weight here❤❤❤
That locker was fabulous. As a crafter and a sewer I loved just about everything in it!!!
Loved watching this locker. Makes a change from football memorabilia and trains 😄
I have a lot of the same stuff that I want to sell. You interested?
Everything is vintage in that whole locker! I love it!!!
You could bundle the sewing stuff and do a whatnot show in the craft/sewing category if there is one. All of that has value.
Monday we'll be selling all of the stuff in lots, except for what we sold at the flea market already.
I would have loved looking through this locker. Some of the old crochet, knitting and sewing patterns may be worth something. She looked like a clever and creative lady.

That money was food stamps from years ago. Been a long time since I’ve seen them. That was a blast from the past. Thanks 😊
And the paper food stamps can still be used by those on food stamps
I was thinking that might be what they were.
Old fabric is valuable. Especially jersey knit and cotton.
At 72, this locker has made me feel warm and fuzzy.
Me too. I recognize a lot of that fabric.
In the sixties and seventies and before it was cheaper to make your own clothes and your families clothes than to buy them. I remember my mum constantly knitting or sewing to clothe us three kids and to make dresses for special occasions. What a fascinating locker. Thanks for showing us.

Jack keeping it rusty, dusty and crusty. What fun!
Jack We the people who love crafting love vintage fabric and tools.
That featherweight sewing machine is a favorite with quilters. Depending on age and condition they can easily be sold for $450+
hey jack, Lori from Seal Beach here. I googled that agriculture cert....one of 'em uncirculated going for 15 dollars online! You never know. Love this kind of locker. Regular stuff, old stuff, from regular people... cool!

Loved the tablecloths!
I think Jack is now in the Fabric business. Sewing ladies will be all over it. (Wear an N95 filter mask in the other two, Jack. ! )
The second Singer machine I believe was a 99k. You can get more than $50 for that. Depending on condition closer to $150 to s200. Jack we had an auction after my mother passed and all her old patterns went for over a hundred. They are very collectible.
Crochet patterns and thread &yarn.
Forgot, look through the sewing box for thimbles, some can be silver or gold. 😁
The old crochet and sewing books and magazines are really interesting and people do buy them.
We'll be auctioning them on Monday night on Whatnot, so we'll see how it goes.
I have a missionary that does crafts with dozens of groups of children in a section of the country that sufferers from poverty. We supply the crafting supplies so if you sell the yarn in kits, I will be interested 😊. Also the embroidery hoops are great for crafts😊

See you there!!!
Those work basket books are very collectible.
8:08 Vintage costume jewelry is getting popular, too.
That is a good old dusty unit. Nice buy Jack!!! Hope you and the family are doing well!!!
As a weaver and quilter, my word those were some pretty awesome items there... may they find a great home.
Could you include some of those sewing patterns in your auction please?
Yes, I'll have one big lot of them on Monday's auction.
Jack, you have gold in that storage unit. We woman that sew and crochet would pay good money for the majority of items. The crochet magazines sell very well especially Work Basket!
Jack you found enough dust to start a beach. I had food stamps many years ago like that. Absolute a blast from the past.
Jack the one box you opened and said "fabric" it is old tableclothes and some of them are quite collectible.
I'm sneezing and coughing just watching all of the dust!
The crocheting, pattern, magazine and such would make a cool whatnot lot.. The younger / mid20’s are gettin into making blankets and cloths
The pitching machine is worth what you paid for the unit Jack Maybe even more That was a very smart buy
I sure hope so! That would be great.
Jack those older sewing basket booklets should bring some money to you. They are collectible.
30:48 Do a Google Lens on that vintage towel you were using as a rag. 😮😂
I'm surprised you weren't sneezing, I would of been. I liked the doll, she's pretty. Interesting stuff Jack ❤️
I actually collect crochet books from the 50s, you got awesome treasure there!
Omgoodness I actually see a few books I have in my stash! 😃😃
Sewing thread is $3 a spool at Walmart not to mention yarn isn't any cheaper so why not do some lots & see how it goes !
People like to buy stuff to decorate their homes from back in the 50s and 60s and 70s so that blender and mixers can opener and stuff like that you use sale online after advertising it. I love this video and seeing all this stuff from my childhood memories. Awesome 🤩

Some of the finished crochet pieces can be vintage and collectible.
Wow the dust! Bring a leaf blower to clear off that dust easier!
I like old sewing units because there's a chance of jewelry And Sterling silver thimbles
One of the boxes of fabric looked to have cotton tablecloths. Please put those in your auction!
This locker was fun!! As a crafter, especially into crocheting all the vintage books were interesting. Not sure if they went thru the auction at the time of this video. Will watch for.
Very cool vintage sewing / craft books!
The green box is a buttonholer and the oblong cams make different sized buttonholes.
I saw what looks like a Persian rug worth checking out

Wow, Jack!! There's so much dust in that locker, that I started coughing here in NJ!! 😂🤣 But yeah, you made back your money in that antique sax alone! Nice!
The food coupon was an old 1.00 food stamp. They use to issue a book of coupons to food stamp recipients. Now the benefits come on a debit type card
Literally “give me all the units with loads of dust”, wow Jack I’m sneezing for you. Enjoy the dig, can’t wait to see what you find 😊
When I first started watching, you always had a paint brush to brush away the dirt and dust😮
The old craft magazines remind me of my grandmother. She always had something in her hands knitting or crocheting.
Hello from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
This locker was interesting but really very dusty!
And apparently the next two will also bring their share of dust!
For some videos we can call you "Dusty Jack"!
Yea🤗😄Yea👍

That food stamp coupon was what was used prior to the EBT card came into play.
This was a very surprising locker. Lots of hidden return value! Especially the pesos, and sewing machines. Definitely a risk/reward win.
Vintage linens with embroidery and vintage sewing items actually sell very good in my antique shop!

Some crafters would LOVE all those old crochet magazines!
One of these days I'll be right in assuming that there's a tommygun in one of these bags...
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo 😂 😂 😂
Vintage sewing patterns can be expensive ,from the 1920s-1950s specially by Vogue
Awesome unit. I was excited as soon as I saw all the undisturbed dust. I wish we had live auctions here. Thank you for sharing. Erik
I love your unwavering dedication and your kindness to all. Please forgive me if I give advise, but the nurse (and mom) in me begs you to be extra cautious with lockers that have an extraordinary dust content like this one. The dust is making me cough just watching 😂
Should bring a shop Vac and generator with you!
Wow wow wow awesome locker. A crafters dream
