  • Hi . In this video I am skimming a wall or rather small wall bits around the window. These needs 3 coats of plaster : 1. Bonding Coat to set the angle beads, 2. first coat of multifinish ( where you need to cover all bonding coat) 3, second coat of multifinish ( very thin , make sure there is no holes or trowel marks.) 4. Use wide brush and wet all edges , smooth surface with finishing trowel, 5. use finishing trowel and smooth surface again ( no water) Hope it helps in your DIY projects . nice tutorial. I am doing some plastsering on my window and ceililng and the corners and edges is difficutl to smooth it. It would be nice if you had more lighting since it very dark and can't appreciate the view of the tutorial. But it has help me with the corner bead on a window that needs to be smooth.

    i have to make good the reveals after new window was fitted, trouble is, the wall itself is naturally already finished, so that side of the bead is proud ?

    I'm doing exact same tommorow. But do u not plaster the wall with the window?? I'm doing it all in one go. Or is it a bad idea

    Stupid question, what is the grey coat, can you skim directly on block work or no. Dummy here 😐

    Hi can I just skim around the window edges after setting my corner beads and then plaster the rest of the wall another day?

    Thought it was better not to push plaster into bead, due to fluting!?

    Dirty beads, try brushing them and scraping the snots off, I’d personally be topcoating that a little sooner as well, especially with skim nowadays

    Not much information about what to use or techniques was literally like watching plaster dry lol 😊

    Could you not have saved 40 minutes and just nailed them on ?

    • @johnwalker4672
      @johnwalker4672 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thin coat beads can bend and kink out of shape easily trying to nail them on...easily take lumps out your corners trying to get a nail in that space..
