Which is your favourite Lion King movie? 😃🦁 *NEW Video just uploaded! The DARK TRUTH about SCAR in The Lion King (2019)* ► th-cam.com/video/P5xQYlRuL6k/w-d-xo.html
I AGREE. Literally just came out of the cinema and was so annoyed they didn’t include. Such a powerful scene. I also didn’t like the way scar said long live the king when he let Mufasa fall in the original he said to so creepily and eerily but in the new film he shouts it...
I was just searching online for this right here. It was such a HUGE part of the development of the character. *Bonk* "Ouch, what was that for"? "It doesn't matter, it's in the past." "It hurt though"..."Yes, the past hurts sometimes...." Quotes may not be exact, but man o man....
My favourite is this one : Banzai : Oh, that lousy Mufasa! I won't be able to sit for a week! Ed : Heh, heh, heh, hee, hee, hee, hee... Banzai : It's not funny Ed! Ed : BWA, HA, HA, HA, HEH... Banzai : Hey, shut up! Ed : BWA, HA, HA, HA, BWA, HA - Banzai pounces on Ed and they fight. Shenzi : Would you knock it out?!? Ed starts chewing his own leg. Banzai : But he started it! Shenzi : Look at you guys.
Simba to Scar: When I become king what will that make you Scar: A monkey's Uncle Simba: You are so weird Scar: you have no idea The new scar was not as verbally ruthless
And Shenzi and Banzai’s old voices. And the fact that they were in a trio in the og, and in the remake they acted didn’t even know each other. tbh the hyenas were ruined in the remake.
SOME STUFF LEAVE ALONE HIS SONG why did they not try to get Whoopi and Cheech Marin and the other guy who played Ed to come back and do the hyenas the songs were terrible the only one that was good was Simba's and Can You Feel the Love Tonight the other one sound like terrible operas Timon and Pumbaa we're not as funny
Kleavers you must be an idiot because the reason they didnt use much facial expression is because CGI i realistic and animals dont make stupid gaces or animal towers they kept it realistic like what would happen in real wildlife
Save the Dolphins which hurt the movie cause no emotion was shared that way. Mufasa dying or simba having fun with Nala, he would have the exact same look on his face. It's realistic yes, but not showing emotion causes the watchers to not feel emotion as well.
My problem, they changed the lines for Mufasa's return in the sky: Simba, you have forgotten me... You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten me. Look inside yourself, Simba? You are more than what you have become.
Me too!!! That’s my favorite line and my favorite scene. And the one where Rafiki talks with Simba about the past that they also chose to not include :(
The best line they left out from the original the best line they left out from the original is when Simba angrily yells at the sky you said you'd always be there for me, it's powerful character building moment and the scene with Rafiki feels empty without it
I paused it at that moment to comment this exact point. It is ignorant to compare this lifeless remake to the live action Jungle Book because the director made a point to say that they added the actors facial expressions to the animals. The Lion King didn't do anything like that
yep and thats why the new lion king is pretty much a complete dissapointment , also the songs in the jungle book all had some life and charm to them , in the lion king be preaperd was *BUTCHERED*
One scene I was very disappointed not to see in the remake was after Simba talked to his father in the clouds and is left to face the conflict of the 2 ways of life he has been taught. Simba: *gets hit with stick* Oww What was that for? R: It doesn't matter it's in the past. Simba: But it still hurts R: Ah yes, the past can hurt... But how I see it you can either run from it *swings stick at Simba* Simba: *douches stick* R:Or learn from it It's a part that I honestly loved in the original with a short yet impactful message that helps Simba understand that living in the past, as fun or carefree as it may be, learning from the past in order to better your future is something that is sometimes for the better, even if it does hurt.
i respect rafiki own words the future you can continue to live and be yourself and even be proud of who you really are without causing trouble or face your past enemy and take control as the main leader of the prideland now and even prideland lion will roar with you now becoming a dominate king now simba has to make a decision between facing his past or face reality in the future now :) rafiki always painting is prophecy what simba future might lye on now :) rafiki notice simba alive and begin to laugh happy he see simba and hurt him to face the truth why he left the prideland and never show nala and the prideland lions now :)
I only wish they had included more of Rafiki. It was lacking his dynamic comical relief moments. He only had about one or two full sentences throughout the entire film.
In English sure, but he still has the entire "he lives in you" scene. You see him and Zazu after Mufasa dies, and a scene involving his stick that's completely new during the end battle. Rafiki never had much screen time, but they did give him new material.
Storm Bolt I really enjoyed his appearance in the original 1994 movie. His character made us chuckle after serious moments throughout the movie. I am especially sad about how Mufasa’s ghost scene played out in the remake. It didn’t have the same impact that the 1994 film had. The scene seemed a little rushed and the music accompanied didn’t do much. It also felt strange why the writers would want to have Simba say “dad” instead of “father.” It changes the aura a bit, going from a royal sentiment to an ordinary family. Just my take.
I wish they would’ve made him more delusional or crazy kinda like he is in the first movie but still very much full of wisdom. Wish they would’ve got someone who could do his laugh like in the first movie too and not made him so serious like, still a great movie though for sure
scar heard simba what am i suppose to do scar told him ooh simba its to die for mufasa by hyena scar you will never be hungry again hyena ooh i love this part yeah all we need to do is to surround the prideland and take the starving lion out one at a time now simba danger ha when i come closer at the face of danger muhahaha hyena hahahahahaha well well well look what we have here yeah well eat you boil you and kill you now who gonna kill uh you simba oops nala scratch the wasteland elephant simba scratch hyena nose grrr hyena instinct picking up on simba scent now stupid say oh stupid say zazu to hyena now :)
I hate how they didn’t include the scene where Rafiki talks to Simba about the past such a powerful scene plus I hate the way Scar says long live the king in the original the way he says it is so creepy and in the new film he just shouts it and it doesn’t have the same effect....
Everything about the old movie is more powerful. They cut most of the best parts of the first one out for this one and its just kinda hollow. But oh well
I also really liked the part in the original Lion King after Mufasa pins them down and they insist they didn't know Simba was his son only for Ed to stupidly smile and nod his head. Shenzi: "Oh this is...this is your son? Oh I didn't know that! Did you Banzai?" Banzai: "No of course not!" Both: "Ed?" Ed: /stupidly grins and nods/ Mufasa: /roars at them angrily/ Banzai: "Toodles!" All: /run off/
I thought how they executed it was awesome. Granted it being shortened.. it was better than completely cut, as was previously announced in the newsfeeds.
All the voices from the original where miles better. This version didn’t give you the same emotions and seemed generic. The original voices were so distinct.
Pentagon In the original it probably took place in the evening so it was probably sunset when the song began and it got later into the night or something
Night time is after 6, the sun is still up you DA. It's not can you feel the love after dark. Plus cats sleep most of the day anyway. You should be lucky they took the time to sing to you.
I first seeing the lightning and clouds forming mufasa for a split second in the trailer made me say "aw yeah that's so cool, he's gonna look cooler when he's in final form". Disappointed finding out he stays that way.
The 2019 remake movie is without any doubt very impressive (graphically speaking), but the colorful environments, the amazing characters' expressions, the animators' creativity with those visibly pleasant effects that only an hand-drawn animation can make you feel. The charm of the original animated movie, was and it still stays to this very day, unbeatable.
The voice overs are HORRIBLE. It feels as if the actors are hiding behind the screen reading their lines. I don't, for one second believe those voices are coming from the animals-even while "stretching the imagination."
I LOVED the changes of the hyenas actually, Shenzi’s upgrade was super. She was really scary! A more leader like. And that Nala and Shenzi fight/dialogue was incredible too!
truejustice that’s not in part of the lion king though...what’s with this real shit? the lion king isnt real and you don’t have to call people idiots you prick. as much as i love the movie, people like you are the people who are so negative and ruin the experience
Just saw it today, I loved how it was realistic. You saw the ear of simba move as if there was a fly of it. You could actually see the behaviour of the animals.
@@FlicksAndTheCity it's so like the animals are. Like Scar's manes aren't black, just dirty. That's real, how it should be. Also the hyenas, zazu and Rafikki are more like they are supposed to be. I didn't miss the human features because of that and there was enough animal features to understand what they are feeling.
At first I thought that Scar hitting Mufasa in the face was a nice touch but then I realized the cartoon version carried a lot more weight. Scar simply lets him go which shows that he had given up on them being brothers a long time ago and I think it cuts Mufasa a lot deeper.
@@TheTubbyLumpkins And i have not feeled anything (Like passion, Anger, Fear etc...) during the movie, I think because i didn't feeled like a was watching a FUCKING MOVIE! I've feeled like i was watching freaking animal planet, Like, The only expression the lions had during the entire thing was -_-, You cannot tell what they're feeling, If they're sad or happy
The movie I feel missed out on the human type expressions with the animals in my opinion. The shot by shot scene by scene from the Animated movie is captured perfectly but the emotion is what the movie kind of missed with the characters. The Animated movie really captured the actors likeness with the emotions.
I know what you mean, however I thought once you're watching it and you're immersed you don't notice it as much as long as you don't start thinking about it. The other thing is that not that many people seemed to complain so much about the Jungle Book CG movie for its realism.
That’s true. When I get fully immersed in a movie while I’m watching it, I don’t caught up in details or critique it. Then after it’s over I start to reevaluate what I’m watching. Regarding this movie remake itself, I haven’t heard people say too many good things about it, like the aforementioned lack of emotion from character/it being a rehash of the classic 1994 movie, but I would like to see it for myself to see if I would like/dislike it.
@@JusteSEBA yeah, cause there's nothing more realistic than talking lions who happen to be great singers and dance to music from nowhere in the middle of the jungle right....
Like it was said this adaptation was made to be more realistic and i doubt that most of scars og lines would be able to be properly displayed without making certain gestures that'd ruin the whole realistic aesthetic they were going for
YourCasualPotato :3 I actually really liked how the song was half talked at the beginning. It gave it more power to ending with a held out singing note.
I didn't care for the way they did the song be prepared. I missed Ed laughing hysterically, Rafiki and simba discussing the past, I preferred the original. it was ok for a remake but it was lacking.
Remake Opinions: -The remake scar voice was actually scarier when he shouts. -Remake Baby Simba was more cute -The part when Nala is escaping the pridelands at night was actually brilliant. -The part when Pumba and Temone singing the YIYIHIHII~ and Nala came out of nowhere is very surprising -Nala grown up is soo beautiful -Hyenas there was super scary -The final battle where Nala vs the girl Hyena(forgot the name) was incredible -The Lines in the remake was better.
I want to Cry after Mufasa's Feath in the remake But somehow in my heart only cried the original. It has so much soul in feeling. Even how simba cries MA me cry in snuggle up against his dead father in the animated scene. But the new version I couldn't cry but at the same time on the inside I cried A bit. But not from the outside. I care about animals feelings. I give mythoses death in a remake maybe 8 Out of 10And the original 10 and Of 10.
I think people understand that clearly, it's just the point of how iconic these movies are, and that people are very aware that the remakes are simply to reintroduce these stories to a modern-day audience, but also getting a visual of what these amazing adventures would look like with modern day technology, of course there would be changes and things of that nature however the one thing that a lot of people want whenever there is a remake, is that they want to feel that same powerful energy that was felt during the original it's not so much of people filling this is a replacement, they want it to feel just as magical as it always was that's what a lot of people want. And when it comes to remakes now days it looks good it sounds good but isn't delivering the same kind of magic if not better then what people already know, and that was the expectation when it came to a lot of remakes, hell that's why the jungle book did as well as it did because it was able to capture and magnify the same magic that was in the original but that's just my opinion but you guys do have a very valid point though
If it's not a replacement, then what is it supposed to be? It's a *shot* by *shot* *remake* of the original. It's not even trying to be it's own thing.
Exactly. What some people can’t seem to understand is that lions in real show literally no emotion with their faces, which is what Disney was going for. So if you were expecting that you’re just setting yourself up to be disappointed.
Watched it last night and Ioved it! I will see it again! The only disapointment was the song "Be Prepared" but other than that I loved it! I actually almost cried when Musfasa died and then during the "Remember who you are" scene. The visual effects are stunning and recommend it for it for any fan of the film!
Maaaaaaaan, I know The Lion King by heart and memorised all lines since I've watched it many many times since I was little. But I find the new arrangement of "Be Prepared" a more scarier and creepier approach plus the new Scar. They had to cut it down because you can't possibly remake the same exact scenes in a much more realistic approach with all those hellish lava bursting as Scar walks and hyenas marching, etc. I was worried actually that they'll gonna do that in the remake. No hate on both versions of Scar. I like Jeremy Irons too, but this new guy is scarier. And yes, as a fan of the classic film, I find "Be Prepared" better on this one.
I will always love the animated version! Not only did I grew up watching it, it helped me through the grief of losing my father... that is something that can hardly be replaced in my heart!
Did you honestly leave out the fact that pumba and Timone broke the fourth wall while they were singing hakuna matata when Simone said “you grew 400Ibs since we started the song”
Craig Bailey I share your opinion. The 1994 version gave me warmer feelings and teary eyes. I just ‘felt more’. Also, the songs did’t have the same impact on me. The opening scene of the original movie still gives me goosebumps. Now, not so much... But I did like the new scene of the young Pumbaa in the water hole, that was hilarious
I kind of accepted that going in, since we all know photorealism can't express human emotion on animals as well as animation. However, where the producers made a huge mistake was by speeding up scenes that should've sparked the most emotion (e.g. Mufasa teaching Simba a lesson, Simba and Nala's reunion, etc.). Those scenes needed to be _slowed down_ so the audience can emotionally (re-)connect with them, but they just whizzed by instead.
My favourite part of the cartoon version is when the hyenas says Mufasa over and over. Kinda wish that it was included in the live action version but I can see why it’s not included. Less realistic.
I liked both versions of the movie, although two things I miss from the first were Zazu in the cage, and Ed. I know Ed was essentially there just with a new name. But I still was expecting a more goofy Hynea.
Don't be dumb, stop comparing, stop expecting this to be better than the original, originals are always the best... watch the damn movie with a different mentality ...
"For the death of the king" "Why is he sick" "No fool we're gonna kill him. I love these lines , I'm annoyed that the hyenas aren't as stupid as in the first movie
I never truly thought of the hyenas as stupid, but misguided. They had been living in that wasteland for who knows how long, and Scar was the character to round the hyenas up with promises of free food and better life styles, because now as an adult, I can see that even a great king like Mufasa would have some dirt swept under the rug. Scar was the one who had them cause a stampede, and at least twice planned to have them kill Simba and Mufasa so evidence couldn't be traced back to him. When Scar finally gets what he wants, his plan falls apart when there's a drought and herds move farther away, leaving the hyena clans worse off than when they started. With his life in danger, Scar tries to shift the blame of Mufasa's death onto the hyenas, yet tries to reconcile with them after Simba wins the final battle. Too tired and hungry of his constant bs, the hyenas kill Scar and flee the Pride Lands and the Elephant Graveyard for food.
@@SGK1206 no, I'm not being racist but they did legitimately want an all black cast to play the lions. Jeremy irons voice is as beautiful as ever these days
I actually like them both- they are both menacing and terrifying in their own way, though I would've still preferred to see him with that black mane though, I prefer the look from the original movie.
They could have kept that spirit song in the closing credits it didn’t match the film. They sound have put the original instrumental with samba running back to pride rock
@@maxgonzalez5984 That argument makes no sense because you're missing the point: You're right. Animals don't emote...which is why the decision to have it photo realistic was moronic. They should have went with something stylized. The series was well known for it's facial expressions in their animations.
@@maxgonzalez5984 Maybe so, but that does not change the point that they have no facial expression at all. Also, in nature animals do not talk either. Now there's a huge gap between highly expressive voices and absolutely no expressive faces. Either way, something about this concept is going to be odd when talking animals are combined with realism. While visually I get why they did it, they did it at cost that is possibly more important than ultra realism. The question is if it's more important that the animals look ultra realistic or whether everyone is done to enhance the movie as a whole.
Max Gonzalez But in nature animals don’t talk either... why add one unrealistic thing and then pretend the whole film is super realistic and use that as an excuse :/
i cant believe they took out the "hitting simba on the head" part. That was the best way to teach about how the past can hurt but learning from it is better than running from it. Loved the movie but still wish they kept it.
Latin Mamba I don’t know about classic but the imagery /realism is just soooo beautiful and that’s y I went to theaters to watch it on the huge screen and it was not a disappointment . I love the animated lion king but this one comes 2nd also so like them both
@@WAEVOICE I thought Donald gave no passion and no heart to his rendition of Simba. Will never mean any disrespect to Jones. With that being said, he obviously got 25 years older and sounded like a shell of his 1994 self. I thought JD McCrary and John Oliver did a great job. Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen were good too. The others, meh.
They did show it, but it was redone and dumbed down. it's basically the scene after pumbaa talks about how they should have someone fat and juicy to distract the hyenas
I started crying when the opening scene started. It was incredible! I miss the old Scar with hyenas but the new one has his own spirit and I love him too.
TheLittle Awi I cried to the opening scene too!! 😂 I cried like 5 different times and I tried to hold in how much I wanted to cry like a baby during mufasas death
No mr pig? No Hula? No Bonzi or Edd? No "The past is in the past?" *WHACK* "OW! What was that for?" "It doesn't matter, it's in the past."? They were some of my favorite moments in the lion king
The animation had so much more emotion. Even the voice actors delivered their lines with more emotion. The remake was missing a lot of the magic in my opinion
I was kinda disappointed because the lions seemed to always have the same emotionless face... I get that real lions don't show emotion the way cartoon characters would but it was disconcerting when you see Simba yell out "Noooo!" when Mufasa dies but he doesn't have the emotion of horror on his face...
I agree, I mean look at Aslan from Narnia. A real looking Lion with facial expression, Disney ws too dumb to do that. And the excuse "We wan't them to look real" makes no sense, because, I repeat myself, look at Aslan
Oğuzhan and how real is it for animals to be speaking, singing and for the prey to all cone celebrate the new boss predator?! Like, keep the amazing visuals but show frickin emotion! Its still a disney film, not a documentary!
I had a problem with the emotion in all of the live action movies. As an artist watching these movies don't work for me. If they did Atlantis or maybe treasure planet I would be happy to watch the realism come to life. But animals are a different story when it comes to emotion. Seeing Simba cry and the way he was animated..I felt idunno relatable. I don't know how to explain it. But I didn't get any of tht with this or the new jungle book
Paladin Onyx Most animals don’t show tons of emotion they show only little bits when they are angry or confused and etc when crying they don’t really do anything expect maybe tearing up or yowling
So basically all the unique animation and charm of the original have been removed in exchange for photorealistic unemoting animals? ...Why? What's the point?
Because it's... a "live" action? :/ Pretty sure if they wanted to just re-make the movie they could've just animated it again with more "up beat graphic shit" but the whole point is to see a realistic version of it.. Sorta like Mowgli on Netflix that kinda failed though because they made the animals too human like rather than just realistic
I really do appreciate how impressive and powerful CJI became, but hyper realistic animals are not able to show any emotion at all... as if I was watching National Geographic
They should have brought back jermeny irons as scar he has an amazing voice and is a great villain BUT is he really the villian or is he just acting as a true lion would act in the wild 🤔
Stop, man. Enough with the "jErEmY iRoNs ShOuLd HaVe CoMe BaCK..." nonsense. It's done. It's over. Jeremy Irons wouldn't work for this much more brutal, angrier, ruthless, and crueler Scar.
@@DeadmanInc336 First, it isn't nonsense. Jeremy Irons did want to return, he just wasn't invited back because apparently, Disney wanted to honor the films African roots by casting black actors...from fucking US and Europe. When what their paying audience expected is for them to keep politics out and just try to make the movie as good as they can. Second, it may be in the past but that doesn't make it right or put it beyond criticism. Rafiki said you can either run from the past or learn from it. It's sad how many choose to run instead of learn by holding their heroes to a higher standard.
No. Not at all. In a two male pride, Mufasa and Scar wouldve been more than happy to "share" power -which for male lions equates to eating first and helping defend territory. Scar wouldnt have attacked Mufasa because he agreed long ago to help him so that neither male would face hyenas and other males alone. Both males wouldve considered Simba to be their son, and of course, Simba wouldve never been "heir apparent" because when he was a teenager he wouldve been chased away to find his own kingdom by BOTH of his dads, there by tossing their genes out into the wild to "conquer" and be successful. -aka even for a real lion Scar is a very much a villain since he attacks his own pride instead of defending it. Now if he were an outside male coming to claim the kingdom from Mufasa who simply used hyenas to help him because he was super clever a case could be made that what he was doing was normal. He still wouldve ended up destroying everything because he broke the natural balance between lion and hyena however, making him arguably a bad guy even if his reasons were less sinister.
I was mostly surprised that shenzi became my new favorite character in the remake. Also seems like the hyenas had more facial expressions than literally everyone else.
I'm kind of upset that in the last fighting scene Rafiki ( I hope I spelled that right) made this funny battle cry and they didn't make it as funny in the newer version :/.
The worst thing about this is, that the so called original is a total ripoff. I also liked....no loved the first Lion King movie as a kid, but let's not forget, that the lion king is a ripoff of Jungle Emperor Leo/Kimba. Another proof, that disney is has no originality, except for toy story and a couple movies.
Animator: "We've done it! We've created photo-realistic animals!" Director: "Great. Now make them bounce around like 2D hand-drawn characters." Animator: "But. . . Won't that make them just look uncanny and wrong?" Director: "No questions! I've a VERY specific vision!" Animator: ". . .for your frame-by-frame remake." No, the movie isn't bad. It's just unnecessary.
@@Charizarzar i like the "realistic" one having it seem like mufasa's voice and advice was simba's conscience, thats how it seemed to me. i like a character having a conscience more than a ghost pop in to say things
Even if they didn't want to show the ghost, they completely re-worked Mufasa's speech. He said "you are my son" and "you are the king" in separate places, but never said the iconic "You are my son, and the one true king!" Of all the lines they did keep exactly the same, it made no sense to change this one.

The lack of facial expressions/emotion really hurt the movie unfortunately. But graphically it is a masterpiece.
Kleavers you must be an idiot because the reason they didnt use much facial expression is because CGI i realistic and animals dont make stupid gaces or animal towers they kept it realistic like what would happen in real wildlife
@@Aithusa. Yeah I got it, and I do not agree that was the best option.
Save the Dolphins which hurt the movie cause no emotion was shared that way. Mufasa dying or simba having fun with Nala, he would have the exact same look on his face. It's realistic yes, but not showing emotion causes the watchers to not feel emotion as well.

The best line they left out from the original the best line they left out from the original is when Simba angrily yells at the sky you said you'd always be there for me, it's powerful character building moment and the scene with Rafiki feels empty without it

I heard that there moved rafikis stick the stick he has is pretty important
Rafiki was killed in that movie in my honest opinion, the monkey had so much personality in the original and they left the character completely boring
@J T Akinola it is a monkey not a ninja fighter.
Whoa whoa I have to interject...despite the realism in new Jungle Book, ALL THE ANIMALS HAVE HUMAN EXPRESSIONS.
@TH-camr fucking exactly
IKR
WDYM THE LIVE ACTION WAE A DISAPPOINTMENT ITS WAY BETTER THAN THE ANIMATED ONE
One scene I was very disappointed not to see in the remake was after Simba talked to his father in the clouds and is left to face the conflict of the 2 ways of life he has been taught.
Simba: *gets hit with stick* Oww What was that for?
R: It doesn't matter it's in the past.
Simba: But it still hurts
R: Ah yes, the past can hurt... But how I see it you can either run from it *swings stick at Simba*
Simba: *douches stick*
R:Or learn from it
It's a part that I honestly loved in the original with a short yet impactful message that helps Simba understand that living in the past, as fun or carefree as it may be, learning from the past in order to better your future is something that is sometimes for the better, even if it does hurt.
@Art Alvarez He just sees his father and then decides to go to home. I was very disappointed
Yes!!! I was furious that was cut/changed
HowA'boutThis ? Yeah same
Me too, I was sad that it wasn't it included
i respect rafiki own words the future you can continue to live and be yourself and even be proud of who you really are without causing trouble or face your past enemy and take control as the main leader of the prideland now and even prideland lion will roar with you now becoming a dominate king now simba has to make a decision between facing his past or face reality in the future now :) rafiki always painting is prophecy what simba future might lye on now :) rafiki notice simba alive and begin to laugh happy he see simba and hurt him to face the truth why he left the prideland and never show nala and the prideland lions now :)
Rafiki never had the biggest part in the lion king but it is to agree that he brought different light to the movie
I wish they would’ve made him more delusional or crazy kinda like he is in the first movie but still very much full of wisdom. Wish they would’ve got someone who could do his laugh like in the first movie too and not made him so serious like, still a great movie though for sure
Emily K yess, i also felt he was a bit too serious unlike the original where he was a bit coo coo lol but still very wise

Timon: “oh are they?!”
Pumbaa: “yeah, they’re from right here”

John Kani is a great actor. New Rafiki barely had screen time.
All the voices from the original where miles better. This version didn’t give you the same emotions and seemed generic. The original voices were so distinct.

Only problem I have is Scar yelling LONG LIVE THE KING instead of whispering it Menacingly
At first I thought that Scar hitting Mufasa in the face was a nice touch but then I realized the cartoon version carried a lot more weight. Scar simply lets him go which shows that he had given up on them being brothers a long time ago and I think it cuts Mufasa a lot deeper.

After Mufasa's death is so boring for me in 90's movie the new one it doesn't

-The remake scar voice was actually scarier when he shouts.
-Remake Baby Simba was more cute
-The part when Nala is escaping the pridelands at night was actually brilliant.
-The part when Pumba and Temone singing the YIYIHIHII~ and Nala came out of nowhere is very surprising
-Nala grown up is soo beautiful
-Hyenas there was super scary
-The final battle where Nala vs the girl Hyena(forgot the name) was incredible
-The Lines in the remake was better.
I didn't like the new Be Prepared.
When judging this new Lion King people tend to forget it is not made to be a replacement
They don't seem to grasp that about any of the remakes, especially Little Mermaid. Red haired Ariel isn't going ANYWHERE. It's not a replacement.
Replacement or not cant watch an emotionless and souless movie.

I miss the dumb hyenas i just think they took too much important details out 😭😞🙁
Trinity Demas they tried to be too realistic by making them smart because hyenas are super smart in real life. Dumb choice

Lol I know right
That’s just sad lal
i like the new movie , but it is simply no match for the original..
They could have kept that spirit song in the closing credits it didn’t match the film. They sound have put the original instrumental with samba running back to pride rock
"Less exagerated facial expressions" ....You mean, no expression at all
In nature animals dont make expressions thats why, it would look awful if in the live action they had facial expressions
Live action expressions
Imagine seeing a lions face rip off instead
I did not think Beyonce's version of "can you feel the love tonight" was beautiful. At all.
She sounded like she was trying to sing a solo and wasn't in sync with Glover at all
Agree.
True, It seemed more like a competition between voices than actually singing together, It was just too much
They over powered her voice
Haley YT Nor is anything else she sings.
i cant believe they took out the "hitting simba on the head" part. That was the best way to teach about how the past can hurt but learning from it is better than running from it. Loved the movie but still wish they kept it.
Still haven't gotten it all in. '94 obviously is an untouchable classic but idk if the 2019 can or will ever be called that.
Latin Mamba I don’t know about classic but the imagery /realism is just soooo beautiful and that’s y I went to theaters to watch it on the huge screen and it was not a disappointment . I love the animated lion king but this one comes 2nd also so like them both
Not with the stunt-casting, Glover and James Earl Jones excluded.
Anyone else pissed they didnt show the hula scene.
Timon-"are ya achin'"
Pumba-"Yup Yup Yup"
Timon-"For some bacon"
Pumba-"Yup Yup Yup"
They did show it, but it was redone and dumbed down. it's basically the scene after pumbaa talks about how they should have someone fat and juicy to distract the hyenas
I started crying when the opening scene started. It was incredible! I miss the old Scar with hyenas but the new one has his own spirit and I love him too.
TheLittle Awi I cried to the opening scene too!! 😂 I cried like 5 different times and I tried to hold in how much I wanted to cry like a baby during mufasas death
@@poobies me too ! 😂 But crying from laught was there too.. when Timon and Pumba appears 😂😂 at scene BE OUR GUEST! I was laugted So hard 😂
Glad I’m not the only one who cried during the opening scene of the new movie 😂😂😂
TheLittle Awi I agree!!!
I cried like 3 or 4 times! Mufasa's death of course was a sad cry but man the others I was so happy and reliving my childhood lol.
The ONLY part in the new one that I liked was the “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”
It just somehow felt like the heart from the original was missing
No mr pig? No Hula? No Bonzi or Edd? No "The past is in the past?" *WHACK* "OW! What was that for?" "It doesn't matter, it's in the past."? They were some of my favorite moments in the lion king
me too. its sad that disney didnt add them in the new one.
I watched the 2019 one yesterday and it felt like I was watching a documentary. I prefer the animation movie. Gave my emotion and colour.
The animation had so much more emotion. Even the voice actors delivered their lines with more emotion. The remake was missing a lot of the magic in my opinion
yeah
All of these so-called updated animated classics suck. Just re-release the animated. Never watched one of these versions, and never will. They suck.
@@ocean7849 you're right, Aslan was definitely emotive. They cold have found that balance.
Oğuzhan and how real is it for animals to be speaking, singing and for the prey to all cone celebrate the new boss predator?! Like, keep the amazing visuals but show frickin emotion! Its still a disney film, not a documentary!
@@holi117 Exactly, it's a Disney movie... so we go in expecting the fantasy, not the realism
Simba looked curious when mufasa died.
When live action Scar sang ‘be prepared’ I couldn’t help but cringe...
sooo. be prepared to cringe? ;D
Sang? I don't remember any singing in that part.
Bro i knoow, i was so pumped up for harmonizing hyenas and a booming sing a long. Then speak-singing BS
"sang"
@@crawfishpeanutbutter7942 Moot point, considering animals don't speak.
I know that but if this movie was silent and no speaking no one would watch it. I’m talking about the features not voice acting
I Rate All Animals this movie could as well be a National Geographic series with dubbed animals...
Marcin Abramowicz Good point
So basically all the unique animation and charm of the original have been removed in exchange for photorealistic unemoting animals? ...Why? What's the point?
Because it's... a "live" action? :/ Pretty sure if they wanted to just re-make the movie they could've just animated it again with more "up beat graphic shit" but the whole point is to see a realistic version of it.. Sorta like Mowgli on Netflix that kinda failed though because they made the animals too human like rather than just realistic
Alzter S idk what ur talking about in the real it’s not animated so u feel more duh
It's called a cash grab to part suckers from their money.
The point is... money.
I really do appreciate how impressive and powerful CJI became, but hyper realistic animals are not able to show any emotion at all... as if I was watching National Geographic
Thank you! I totally agree!
@@azterahstudios My point exactly the new Lion King lacked any new qualities which is precisely why it sucked even more
2 lines I miss from the orginal, when the hippo sits on zazu "madam get off" and rafiki saying "come on rafiki knows the way"
They should have brought back jermeny irons as scar he has an amazing voice and is a great villain
BUT is he really the villian or is he just acting as a true lion would act in the wild 🤔
I have read somewhere that most of the 1994 cast forgot how to do their voices before
I don't think a true lion in the wild would make an alliance with hyenas and premeditate a murder 🤣
I like the original Lion King better
Same
Jarius Smith Ditto👍🏾
Anyone who doesn't is either brain dead, or bought.
July 1, 2019- I missed seeing (Whoopi Goldberg) Shenzi and I missed seeing Ed the laughing hyena and Rowan Atkinson as Zazu the bird..
Fun fact: Ed is voiced the one and only Jim Cummings. And the species of bird Zau is called “hornbill.”
Chiwetel Elijofor sounds off and seems less Shakespearean than Irons’ performance.
He was nowhere near as good and Charismatic as Jeremy Irons
agreed, "be prepared" was disappointing for me
Totally agreed!
I was mostly surprised that shenzi became my new favorite character in the remake. Also seems like the hyenas had more facial expressions than literally everyone else.
Ominous Odyssey I did like THIS Shensi more
Have you SEEN hyenas??? They have a lot of emotion. It’s actually extremely scary
I'm kind of upset that in the last fighting scene Rafiki ( I hope I spelled that right) made this funny battle cry and they didn't make it as funny in the newer version :/.
I really liked the "cactus butt" part. It was hilarious.
Let’s all just agree the original was better. In my opinion I really wish Disney would continue drawn animation instead of this.
Yes and me too.
Agree to be honest I hate all the remakes considering it’s not the same as classic
@@ocean7849 Whatever Kimba was made in Japan and was easily forgettable.
@@dewolf123 woah, woah, you say because it was made in Japan it was forgettable? In Germany there was a Kimba the Lion series. Yeah, I'm calling it BS
6:13 LOL Yes the Circle of Life is lion propaganda!!
I been saying this for years. It's actually the square of life.
You’re both wrong. It’s the rhombus of life.
I'm sorry but it's actually the reuleaux triangle of life
Why though
I saw it today it was good but I will always love the original.
Animator: "We've done it! We've created photo-realistic animals!"
Director: "Great. Now make them bounce around like 2D hand-drawn characters."
Animator: "But. . . Won't that make them just look uncanny and wrong?"
Director: "No questions! I've a VERY specific vision!"
Animator: ". . .for your frame-by-frame remake."
No, the movie isn't bad. It's just unnecessary.
Terastas Nawh, in context it’s kinda bad.
No
I miss Jeremy Irons' voice!!! I'll take 1994 version every time!
I'm not even kidding when I say everyone was laughing at all of timon and pumbaas lines
Ms. Shaddye yep each line had its own laugh 😂
They were both absolutely brilliant despite the changes.
The 2019 movie ruined the most important scene of the movie, mufasa's ghost. That cant be forgiven
would have been really weird to have a ghost show up
You're right! It's an emotional scene of the movie and they cut it away.
sand dungeon Why? That was a huge part of the original
