Did you like the changes in the new Lion King?! 🦁🦁 *NEW Video just uploaded! The DARK TRUTH about SCAR in The Lion King (2019)* ► th-cam.com/video/P5xQYlRuL6k/w-d-xo.html
Yes thank u the lion king is my favourite movie of all time I was wondering about some of the new things added in the movie great to hear them being explained thank u
I’ve just watched the new lion king, loved it so much, my favourite character in the whole of Disney is Scar and I was very happy in how they did him justice in how evil he was🦁🔥
They didn’t include the most important message of the original film: ” Yes the past can hurt, but the way I see it you can either run from it or learn from it.” Smh 😔
Yeah I'm sorry they didn't add that one small detail you remember as a kid but it's called a REMAKE for a reason so they had their originality to the film.
I was pretty disappointed about the Pumba "They call me Mr. Pig" scene not making the cut. Also I really liked Zazoo's "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" song annoying Scar. Overall pretty disappointed but they did a good job translating for newer audiences. Just missed the mark for me.
They talk about it in the original. She was sent out to hunt farther cause all the food was gone. New one made no sense cause scar would have killed her mom knowing she was gone or gone looking for her.
@@OzzyZMusic Scar would have never killed Sarafina, or else he would have totally alienated Sarabi. The new version makes it very clear what his intentions are towards her. Which is imho another great addition in the new version and makes Scar's motivation much more believable than just being the bad uncle. Plus, Nala is gone what, one or two days? I doubt Scar will have noticed and even then Sarafina or Sarabi could have covered for her for the little while she was gone. Even if Scar didn't believe them, I doubt he'd have given it another thought since he (and Shenzi) believed Simba dead, so what could one runaway lioness do anyway
@@Siranyt Scar has had clear motivations from the beginning, he always wanted to be king and when mufasa defeated him in combat he nurtured a hatred. It was only when he saw that the line of succession would fall on some brat that he made his move. From the very beginning he knew the lionesses did not want him as king so yes he would keep a very close eye on them to the point where he already sleeps with one eye open. Hence why he sensed that someone was leaving pride rock. Someone as calculating as him would have had to make an example or sent a search party out.
@@OzzyZMusic As I said we don't know how he would have reacted, we can only guess. With Scar being so calculating as you say he never would have risked alienating the lionesses, as he has clear intentions with Sarabi. Especially with Nala being gone one or two days max this seems extreme. I don't think him having a light sleep is proof that he would have killed someone, just that he is rightfully paranoid. Same with sending out a search party after one day or two. The hyenas are hunting, so who would he send, he couldn't send the lionesses. Same with the original as it is never stated on film how Nala's disappearance is covered by the others. I don't see a problem the new version introduced here: the same thing happens, just that we see more of it in the new version.
"can you feel the love tonight happens during the day" umm..... How is that bad thing? It's fine to complain about be prepared, but don't be picky. Like, I don't get why people are upset about this. (Not trying to be rude, I'm seriously confused.)
@@Batmantherealbatman Sweetie, everyone is free to have their own opinion 😊 As someone who grew up with the classics, it's normal to notice such big differences. Telling someone "don't be picky" is not very nice... You litterally have no idea how old I am, you should respect others 😅 Plus, I never said it was "a bad thing", I wonder where you read that... Anyways, I don't want to defend my point of view so have a nice day. Oh, and please, let others have their own opinion. If you are confused, you can talk about it with your friends 😉 Bye !
I also really liked how when Simba's furball goes flying, we actually see what it goes through. In the original, it just magically finds its way to Rafiki. But here in the remake, it goes through rivers, is carried by birds and other animals. It's just interesting to see all that
Scar also sent Zazu away when he was trying to murder Mufasa which made more sense. In the original he knocked him out and a lot of people thought it was weird Zazu didn’t mention to anyone he was knocked out during that event
BAHAHAGA YESSSS I was singing it in my head during the scene and my brain did a double take when I realised he didn’t say it 😱 and then they left out “follow old rafiki he knows the way” which sucks but honestly I think they did pretty well with this remake. Nothing will ever beat the original for me of course but they did pretty well. Nothing can be absolutely perfect but over all it was good.
During the confrontation Scar claims he wasn't even at the gorge where Mufasa died, even though Zazu was there too and was explicitly told by Scar to go get help.
@@TexasNightmare210 but in the time since, I feel like it would've come up. Like he gave the lions the news every day you'd think at some point he would've said something
mariana Contreras but did they put effort in making a new story with the same themes as the original that new audiences can enjoy or did they just make a carbon copy and take out the core message because it would contradict the fact this movie existence but with realistic and non expressive animation
Yeah, rafiki is good at climbing somehow, he always have surprises, but if you will look in real life, the mistakes were true, but the cartoon is much better, who cares if it have mistakes..
A lot of people says that, but after watching it I was SOO impressed with especially how the voices and also the body language of the animals compensated for the lack of facial expressions, which I btw didn't find weird at all. I thought they did find an amazing balance of realism and yet emotional and believable. I personally loved it. :D
It was not wierd to watch yess it didnt have the same over the top facial expressions as the cartoon but there was still emotion there and the realism looks beautyfull
"The 94 version gave the characters cartoony eyes while the realistic one gave them realistic ones." I know, right? A lion having cartoony expressive eyes? It was like watching a Disney cartoon or something.
The 94 version is already the perfect version, the 19 version is a soulless factory product made with no passion or creativity and relies on the audience wearing nostalgia glasses and memberberries.
@Ultra Raijin Mantis Ice Guardian no I wont, people are complaining about lack of originality in hollywood yet they pay for an inferior version of a movie that already exists
The cartoon faces enabled them to actually express emotions.. From surprised, amused, malicious, confused to the end of all possibilities..In the case of cartoon Nala we even got "aroused" in there.. The realistic faces really put a lot of pressure on the Dub actors and there is still a disconnect. Lions pretty much have one resting face only. Along with a eyes closed rubbing on someone face (we interpret as affection) and a exposed teeth roar (we interpret as dominance/aggression). Thats it. And a big problem in making the Lion King "realistic". You've got some great people dubbing the characters and the characters cannot express their emotions cause Disney wanted them "real". Stop paying them for the remakes guys ^^ They should just grab an old Fairytale and make their own version of it. That does still work for the whole family as "Frozen" has proven.
I love both movies. But I have to admit I kind of prefer the original. Although I love the realistic theme of the 2019 version, the original has that much more musicals and humour... That's just me though. I LOVE THE LION KING AND WHO ELSE DOES?
@@SebTheGamer Oh yes I know, It's just an opinion. I love The Lion King, no matter what version. I wasn't trying to be all rude or seem like I don't appreciate the 2019 movie, because it's false. I love this version to bits and am so grateful that did a realistic looking one. Sorry if I offended anyone by stating my opinion
I do I LOVE THE LION KING i even went to watch the new movie and I think it is as great as the old one if I could I would say CONGRATULATIONS to Disney cause I think that Disney did a great job with the old one and the new one
Okay so... The reason why most of the things mentioned in the video don't happen in the 2019 version is not because they were 'mistakes' but instead because they don't work as well and would look ridiculous in a realistic style.
In the 1994 movie Nila and Simba reunited in the day, spend time together fall in love at night (Can You Feel the Love TONIGHT), Simba gets sense knocked into him, and then he returns in the morning. This at least takes place in roughly 24 hours. In the remake they reunited and literally not even 5 minutes in they are already into the song during broad daylight, Simba gets sense not knocked into him this time, and then returns in the span of a few hours. Did not makes sense.
Maybe it was referring to it being a sequel and people had already like seen the stick in the original..? Like in hakuna matata they changed the line to not be "censored" anymore because everyone watching it had grown older. Idk this is a terrible explanation but ah 😂
King Ivar but he said that in the animated. When he declines and walks away, mufassa asks what he’s gonna do with him, and Zazu replies “he’d make a great throw rug (because of the connection to the lion in Hercules).” That wasn’t in this film because there wouldn’t be any connection, and why would they know what a throw rug is? So they added more and took a lot away which made the movie so much better.
Another mistake they fixed is scar knocking out Zazu. In the original remake, Scar knocked out Zazu during Mufasa’s death and for some reason Zazu didn’t find that suspicious. So in the remake, they have Scar tell Zazu to get help instead of knocking him out.
The reason why Zazu didn’t find that suspicious is because Zazu was yapping about and Scar never likes Zazu. If Zazu had acted differently maybe Scar would’ve done something different.
Zazu didn't find that suspicious because Scar literally tried to eat him earlier on in the movie(out of irritation) Scar could have knocked him out because he was being annoying. Also Zazu hitting the rock like that could result in short term memory loss
@@ramboli yeah and it sounded off and weird. It should have been timed with the first roar. The tension build up was wasted because the climax was supposed to be his roar and they overlapped.
@@jackiesampieri"No, I could never forget you" is so essential because forgetting who he is, is forgetting his father. I can't seem to figure out why they deemed that unnecessary
Actually that is similar to a part of the original play it’s based off of, Hamlet, where after the villain takes the throne, they try to get the love of the previous king to join him.
When you focus on realism, you sacrifice the emotion and heart of a movie. They literally gutted this movie, turning it into a cold, superficial version of what it used to be.
I love animals. I’ve done a few courses and have been around them. I would say the average person doesn’t understand half of their own animals body language. It’s kinda ridiculous. That’s how animal show their emotions
The emotions are just shown in a different way I was kind of a cold hearted kid, the movie was sad but I've never cried watching it ._. But with this.... I cried three times ;w; It's just different, and it don't affect all people in the same way
Just like in the new Mulan movie, this is to show a movie in realism. Of course we love the songs, certain quotes, and faces of the animated movie, but as others have stated, this is to show a more realistic approach and i honestly in my opinion, didn’t find anything wrong with this movie at all. Nothing changed but the way they are to look in real Life and nothing more
@@nax8737 oops didn't catch that mistake! Thanks for pointing it out! Also, I'm saying based on the lyrics because even when they sing "can you feel the love tonight", the setting of the 2019 movie isn't at night. Plus this is just what I found funny and I just want to share it good naturedly. Although my memory might have betrayed me, some people relate to my comment too so you don't need to come too strongly at me. I know this is not necessarily what you intend but I'm just saying, it might seem that way to people. Anyway, hope you have a good day.
In the 1994 version during the Stampede Scar knocks Zazu out. This version Scar tells Zazu to get help. It did always seem weird Zazu didn't remember being knocked out.
honestly the thought of zazu knowing scar knocked him out but he couldnt do anything about it in absolute fucking fear of him and what he'll do if he speaks up about it is WAY better. yeah no they dulled scar down so much.
Most of these aren't really mistakes, maybe inaccuracies. For example, Rafiki could be using both of his hands equally well, in TLK universe ant eaters live in the same place as lions... One real mistake is Zazu opening his mouth with nothing coming out. Nevertheless, the video is a nice compilation of said inaccuracies and information about how real animals would behave. However, I really don't agree with #12 being more feasible method of Rafiki discovering SImba, nor with the statement that the scene really fits with the circle of life theme. In 1994, Simba's scent is carried by the wind and is not spoiled by anything. So when Rafiki catches the leaves, it's not too unbelievable that he can smell and remember the scent of Simba. But in 2019, Simba's scent has been mixed with water, bird saliva, leaves, giraffe poop and dirt and yet Rafiki recognizes it as coming from Simba even faster than in the original. It is definitely less feasible than the other version. Also, when you really think about it, this is not a good representation of circle of life because all animals' involvement in this is accidental. The point of circle of life is that everything in it has its necessary place and role in keeping the life balance, but in the hair travel part, none of the animals actually needed to be there. The hair could have reached Rafiki without one animal being involved.
Nina P Rafiki’s hands definitely aren’t a mistake. Unless anyone that can use more than one hand is a mistake. Both hands can hold things and both hands can rub a finger across something. Plus if he’s dipping with his left hand, then he’s holding the fruit half in his right. Just like he holds his staff in his right. I think there desperate to make the remake look good.
...these aren't "mistakes", and the remake didn't "fix" them. They're just changes. Indeed, many of these "fixes" are stylistically inferior to the original and less interesting or impactful. I actually find it sad.
@@Kid_Trouble If they were taking pride in the original Lion King they wouldn't be remaking it and changing it. That's not pride. It's a cash grab because they know people who loved the original will come watch this new one. And seriously, the faces aren't as expressive as the original. You can mock it all you want, but it's just objective fact. It's a fucking no brainer that an animated face will be more expressive and easier to see the emotions than realistic animal faces. It looks ridiculous.
I love the movie, it was stunning! However, I still find the original more magical. The animation allowed more freedom in expressions and scenes. But I loved how they adapted to a more realistic tone. 🦁💕
@@p1xik honestly, I made this comment long ago and I was too nice at the time. 😅 Also, I think I used the word "tone" wrongly. What I meant was although the live action kinda took all that made the original special, the technology and effects were impressive and I can't deny that. However a movie is way more than technology and effects. And something that made the original so great is clearly missing.
@@p1xik lions and hyenas have been known to fight. more so hyenas picking on lone lions if they have food or whatever, especially if they have a large clan.
i feel like they didnt do a good job with expressing what timon was saying like he had a lot of energy in his voice but his body movements didnt show it
My opinion, is that the 1994 one is better for being one of the most favorited animated films.. But 2019 is more realistic. Anyone else agree? I honestly still like 1994 one better, but feel free to have a different opinion!
Realism doesn’t mean better nothing going to recapture the greatness of the animated movie it was a Disney cash grab instead of making a new Disney movie there rehashing old stuff betting on nostalgia
Caci yes the originals are hard top but live actions are very good yes of course the 2019 is realistic and Jon faverau did amazing job the lion king and beauty and the beast are my two no 1 favourite Disney and the live actions versions are very good and I'm impressed but they don't top the originals
All this realism and "fixes" only seems to justify that Disney is creatively lacking. ShanYu said it best "It looks like you're out of ideas." What was wrong with using their imagination like in the original.
@@ajj7480 Why don't they redo Treasure Planet? They've been pulling classics that are hundreds of years old and putting there own spin on it. All the people with ideas have gone on to other companies. They're too worried about offending people. I know tons of stories that could have been used for new material. Kids would have loved to see something new. There's a reason why the Renaissance dominated.
Those are just technicalities most people didn't even notice or care about. The substantial stuff are miles better. The new version can't hold a candle to the original!
PaintedPhoenix exactly!! It’s like 20 years later and different voices. If it was going to be the exact same they would have to get all he actors who are like 25-70 years old and bring them back. Not to mention nothing is ever good enough for people so they’d literally have to make it cartoon again. This isn’t supposed to be the exact same. They did this for a reason ppl. If it was *supposed to be the same they wouldn’t have made it*
No, this remake is not amazing. It's a hollow, vapid recreation that shamelessly exploits its source material while simultaneously being embarrassed by it. See the abortion that is "Be Prepared". Why on Earth would you make a Lion King movie and not put the full Be Prepared in it? Because you're embarrassed to be making a musical. The songs are the stars of this show, and the guy in charge of everything is Jon Favreau, a man who has about as much rhythm as the state of Utah.
Rafiki is not wrongly named as a baboon, he actually is a baboon but is wrongly drawn as a mandrill. Mandrills don't live in the savanna alongside lions, giraffes, etc. Mandrills only live in the tropical rain forest whereas baboons actually do live in the savanna. They should have made Rafiki a baboon instead of a mandrill in the 2019 movie. Also, mandrills were classified as part of the baboon family in the past, so even if he was supposed to be a mandrill, I guess he would have been called a baboon for that reason.
In some scenes of the new film you can also spot an aye-aye, which is a species that only lives on Madagascar. So that isn't right either if the film is based on the Serengeti.
I loved that they introduced the somewhat realistic way for Simba to feed on bugs by using termites which was proven possible by the film theory channel.
and having a realistic bird try to speak english lol. He was just twitching around like a real bird and looked grey as hell. It was stupid to look at and unattractive.
This comment thread just made me realize something funny: The original voice actors for Zazu and Shenzi were both main characters together in a later movie (Rat Race).
Yeah, there is a plot hole with "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" The whole song takes place during the daytime. The nitpicking ruined the most memorable moments. They focus on insignificant lion behaviors. Well there are no rituals of holding up the newborn cub in real life. A lot of the animals and the size of the elephant skull are seen from Simba perspective as a cub, so yeah it would seem huge. And why did they feel the need to add extra dialog that was not needed. They also could have used the extra songs from the musical. They fit a lot better with the originals than the ones written for this crappy remake. I love Disney but they have been destroying the magic that they had built up.
*In the movie I noticed a mistake. The bird says his cousin thinks they are woodpecker but later on he says. "Did you know my brother thinks hes a woodpecker.*
Power pug I think it’s like a joke Zazu tells every so often and since sometimes you forget certain details of jokes, he said brother instead of cousin. So either it was a mistake or done on purpose.
caught that too! as i was watching it i was like wait didn’t he say cousin? I was thinking maybe what he was saying was a lie and just used as a distraction so he constantly changes detaisl
Scar wasn’t really welcome in the outlands like in the original. He came with a proposition for them. I loved be prepared but the hyenas wouldn’t be having a song with someone they didnt really like.
I think she means animated, in the traditional sense that the '94 movie is that way, where as this one is marked as "live action" even though it's animated.
Computer animation is the process used for digitally generating animated images. The more general term computer-generated imagery (CGI) encompasses both static scenes and dynamic images, while computer animation only refers to the moving images. Modern computer animation usually uses 3D computer graphics, although 2D computer graphics are still used for stylistic, low bandwidth, and faster real-time renderings. Sometimes, the target of the animation is the computer itself, but sometimes film as well. So it’s not animated it’s called cgi
It's true that a lot of these are ... technicalities. For example, it's possible that roaring cats CAN purr (as it involves a similar organ as roaring), but not in the continuous manner that non-roaring cats (domestic OR wild) do.
5:41 this isn’t really a mistake. What actually happens is Rafiki recognizes Simba‘s scent on the plants that end up in his tree. It’s probably Mufasa sending him a message shown by the way he communicates with Rafiki via wind in the sequel
That's because they were trying to make Nala more relevant. I mean they replaced, Sarabi's brave descent up to talk to Scar with the hyena's chomping at her tail and hind quarters with Nala's escape.
I noticed several changes that the remake made: 1. In the original, I never understood why Scar waited so long to try to overthrow Mufasa. Between his hyena companions and his lust for the throne, it seems he should've made an attempt long before Simba was born. The remake explains that Scar did indeed make an attempt to overthrow Mufasa, and it also implies that that attempt was how he got a scar over his left eye. It also goes on to show that Scar did not form an alliance with the hyenas until just before they schemed to overthrow Mufasa, explaining why it wasn't done prior. 2. Following up on my previous thought regarding Scar's eye, a fan theory I've seen people discuss is that Scar is not actually his name, but rather a nickname that he became stuck with after his eye injury. If Mufasa did in fact give him that Scar, he very well also gave him that nickname as a form of additional punishment. They never confirm this, but it does elaborate on the fan theory a bit. 3. In the original film, after Scar takes over Pride Rock, he imprisons Zazu in a cage made of a dead animal's ribcage. Later, Scar jokingly suggests that the hyenas eat Zazu when they complain about their being no food. This of course begs the question, if the hyenas have over-hunted to the point that the Pride Lands are dying and both the hyenas and lions are starving, why haven't they eaten Zazu yet? 4. Following up my previous thought, regarding Zazu's prison, you can clearly tell that Zazu can easily slip through the bones of his prison and escape, and yet he doesn't. This begs the question, why is Zazu still there? This was most likely an animation goof that the remake corrects by instead having Zazu be an independent spy of sorts due to his loyalty to the royal family. This change also corrects the question of why Zazu wasn't eaten when there was no food. 5. While still on the topic of Zazu, in the original film, when Zazu begins to panic about the stampede, even going as far as mentioning goin to get help, Scar strikes him, presumably knocking him unconscious in the process. This begs the question of whether or not Zazu remembers that happening. If he does, why has he not mentioned or investigated it due to potential foul play? If he doesn't, why hasn't he investigated to fill the holes in his memory? Because the film never addresses this, it's left unclear. The remake however updates this by having Scar remove Zazu from the scene by suggesting he go get help. This both makes more sense, and is a clever callback to Zazu's suggestion in the animated film. 6. In the animated film, just before the song, "I Just Can't Wait To Be King", Simba and Nala begin discussing how they're going to ditch Zazu so they can go explore the Elephant Graveyard. What follows is the earlier-mentioned song sequence, which includes a rhino sitting on top of Zazu as a result of the collapsing pyramid of animals. Immediately following that we see Simba exclaim to Nala, "alright, it worked", implying that the spontaneous animal pyramid was part of their plan, which is highly unlikely. The remake corrects this by instead having the cubs getting lost in the crowd of larger singing animals, which is a more realistic escape plan. 7. Additionally, after successfully ditching Zazu in the animated film, Simba declares himself as a genius, to which Nala retorts, "hey, genius, it was my idea". This comment doesn't make sense, as when you play the scene in which the cubs begin plotting, Simba is seen doing all of the talking just before Zazu interrupts them, meaning if the plan was thought-up by anybody, it's Simba. The remake corrects this by updating Nala's retort to, "you couldn't have done it without me". 8. In the animated film, when Simba is hanging off of Pride Rock above the fire, Scar begins to gloat, at which point he confesses to killing Mufasa by whispering the information into Simba's ear. This implies that everything he said prior to the confession was said aloud, meaning everything should have been heard by the lionesses. So when Scar says, "this is exactly the way your father looked before he died", while it isn't necessarily a confession, it is an odd comment to make given the context of the current situation. The remake addresses this by adding to Scar's gloating the line, "I saw the fear in his eyes", which Sarabi is quick to comment on when Simba accuses Scar of murdering Mufasa. 9. Additionally, after Scar whispers his confession into Simba's ear, Simba leaps up and pins Scar onto his back in a rage. This feat seems impossible as Simba was hanging by his front paws when Scar confessed to Mufasa's murder. The remake corrects this by having Simba bite Scar on the ear, allowing Simba to be hoisted back onto Pride Rock to confront Scar. 10. When Scar tells young Simba to run away from home after Mufasa's death, it begs the question of why Scar didn't just kill Simba right then and there while there were no witnesses. This has led some fans to theorize that this is because Scar can't be bothered to do it himself, therefore he has the hyenas do it for him, and/or because banishing Simba gives him layers of insurance, as he believes Simba will either get killed by the hyenas, die from the elements due to leaving the safety of the Pride Lands, or will be too riddled with guilt to ever think of coming back. The remake addresses this is a subtle, but overall clever update. When Scar addresses Simba, who was convinced that he killed his father, Scar addresses him in a somewhat aggressive tone, further adding onto Simba's belief that he is to blame. Additionally, when he tells Simba to run away, rather than suggest as a sign of mercy and understanding like in the animated film, in the remake, Scar demands that Simba runs away and never comes back, giving off the guise of someone angry at the murder of his brother, adding even more of a reason why Simba would most likely never return to Pride Rock. 11. One of the controversies regarding the original film was the topic of segregation, and how the film seemed to be in favor of it. While most fans can make educated guesses as to why the hyenas are outcasts, the film never explicitly says why. The remake corrects this by updating the ideologies of the Circle of Life, and introducing the concept of over-hunting in the dialogue. Because "a hyena's belly is never full", the film explains that the hyenas over-hunted in their lands, resulting in it becoming a barren wasteland. Additionally, Scar describes Mufasa as having "too much restraint when it comes to hunting", further driving this point. 12. In the original film, when Mufasa appears before Simba as a vision, Mufasa accuses Simba of forgetting who he is. While he does elaborate further by saying that Simba forgot Mufasa by forgetting himself, it's still an odd choice of wording as Simba only ended up where he was specifically because of the guilt he associates with his father's death. Additionally, when Simba cries out, "don't leave me", Mufasa initially ignores this outburst, and instead continues to repeat, "remember". This constant repetition, alongside a pep talk from Rafiki is what ultimately leads Simba to return home. The remake updates this a bit to make it a bit less clunky regarding Mufasa's input. The remake removes the idea of Simba forgetting about Mufasa, and instead replaces it with Mufasa reassuring Simba that he never stopped being his son. Additionally, when Simba begs his father not to leave, Mufasa replies that he never left him, reminding Simba of the lessons he taught him prior to his death. 13. In the original film, when Nala confronts Simba about refusing to return home, the two have an argument and Simba storms off, after indicating that he won't help dethrone Scar. However despite this, Nala still decides to stick around for some reason, only returning to Pride Rock, along with Timon and Pumbaa, once Rafiki tells her that he's on his way home. This is a bit odd behavior for Nala, as she was on a mission, and left the Pride Lands to find help, which Simba refused to do. Unless her intention was to try to convince Simba further once he had calmed down, one would think she would either return home, or continue her search for help. Since the film never addresses this, we never are given a definitive answer. The remake addresses this by having Nala make the decision to return home to try and fight Scar herself after her argument with Simba, driving home the sense of urgency in the matter. Because of this, the film also updates Simba's departure by having him inform Timon and Pumbaa, since Nala is not around to do so. As someone who was born in 1994, and therefore literally grew up alongside the original, I truly love both of these films. The original is my favorite animated Disney film, and the remake is full of clever updates and looks absolutely beautiful. So I naturally noticed all of these changes, as well as a few that you mentioned in your video (well done by the way).
I actually agree. When I saw the movie with my family, the movie... my word it was so beautiful! It makes ton of senses to me in the remake than the original! I love remakes and classics to but the remake is a win, win.
@@Kyleoc_eire Another stupid comment. That's why it's called "business". All business are cash grabs. It's a win-win situation. Viewers like it, Disney makes money. Money revolves around today's generation. Just live in the cave, you won't experience you've called "cash grabs"
I said the exact same thing!! Also, I missed Scar screaming Sarabi's name while emphasizing each syllable. I didn't like him slapping Mufasa right before killing him or how he hit Sarabi with a barrage of blow instead of the one swift, backhanded pimp slap in the original.
SM87013 I agree; though, I think he didn't slap mufasa, he clawed his face. In this version, they hinted that mufasa was the one that gave scar his scar, so he could be...returning the favor. At least that's what I got out of it.
Mufasa held onto the fact that he was his brother. It is much more touching and sincere plea for help and betrayal reminding Scar of their relationship at his final moment.
Did anyone else fine the scene where Simba processes that Mufasa is truly dead a bit short? I feel like what they couldn't include in facial expression they could have made up for with more time/emotional dialogue. The 1994 version still had a longer version of that scene.
Gayatri Rathod I feel the same ! This is my first cartoon that I remember when I was 2 years old and lifetime favorite! When I was watch with my dad and hold him ! I was so sad that this scene not really intended! Anyway I just went to watch movie at the first day it came ! And fly to Disney world in the morning ! Bought all the Lion king stuffs! Zimba’s face so funny ! Hope they will improve !!! After the movie make so much money !!
Using the right hand for anointing Simba is also a historical reference to pledging fealty to a lord of a region in exchange for protection. You never ever use your left hand.
Ronnie James Deodorant perhaps, but this is a well-known aspect of European history. It does make it more accurate. Pledge loyalty with your left hand and watch the heads roll.😉

@@bennyh0396 i mean its the same film, its shot for shot and it has the same songs except they sound really bad especially be prepared, the voice acting is bad especially tbe actor who plays scar, mufasa's death scene was unintentionally hilarious, and the realistic animation just takes away all the vibrancy and personality and gorgeous images that we got in the original, plus animatiom allows the animals to be expressive and the new one every animal has a poker face, come on admit it this is just a soulless factory product made with no passion or creativity, everything that made the original so great is either stripped away or butchered.
Lori Wolfcat because a price of lions include lionesses. When talking about individual lions you would say lion or lioness. In a group or pride they are all called lions. It’s like Spanish, the group mostly takes the form of a male
ASMR Discovery Umm, no. They weren’t referring to all lions. They were always referring to the Lionesses, like in the cartoon. The animation was more for women than the 2019 for wo”men.”
Great video, but I also noticed that they didn’t fully remove the ant eaters because when Simba meets the others in the forest where Timon and pumba live, Simba passes by a ant eater and there is also an ant eater seen eating some of the bugs after Timon and Pumba flip over the log and teach Simba that they eat bugs, not each other.
@@ashr1619 I meant the part towards the end where his mouth is moving but you cant hear audio. The video mentions it towards the end, I don't know if you even watched the whole video or not?
They also changed how scare Reveals how he killed Mufassa. In the cartoon Simba forces scare to tell with his paw over scares throat. In the live action scare gets Tangled in his web of lies that lead the Lions to figure out he was lying.
In the original, it had scar talking to the hyenas about how "the lionesses do the hunting." This is accurate to how lion prides work. In the new one, it shows scar out hunting with the hyenas, which he would not have done. So that's something the 94 had right that they messed up.

Thanks so much Dass!
I’ve just watched the new lion king, loved it so much, my favourite character in the whole of Disney is Scar and I was very happy in how they did him justice in how evil he was🦁🔥
They didn’t include the most important message of the original film:
” Yes the past can hurt, but the way I see it you can either run from it or learn from it.”
Smh 😔
Noooo 😭
They pretty much did though. With Timon and Pumbaa.
This has kept me up at night. I am so disappointed that they didn't include that message.
Yeah I'm sorry they didn't add that one small detail you remember as a kid but it's called a REMAKE for a reason so they had their originality to the film.

that was the biggest crime for me
Johnson Smith One of the many disappointments from the movie 🙁
Very much so!
Bruh the new lion king missed the scene when rafiki says “Asante Sana squash banana” and shaking the tree...
Not only that, they even took out the part when the hyenas are like, "Mufasa! Ooh! Mufasa! Oooh!"

AND WHEN HE SMACKED HIM WITH THE STICKKKK!!
And when mufasa died he said scar help me instead of scar brother help me
I was pretty disappointed about the Pumba "They call me Mr. Pig" scene not making the cut. Also I really liked Zazoo's "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" song annoying Scar. Overall pretty disappointed but they did a good job translating for newer audiences. Just missed the mark for me.

One thing I absolutely LOVED was where they showed how Nala left Pride Rock. Showing those scenes with Sarabi as well was really nice!
They talk about it in the original. She was sent out to hunt farther cause all the food was gone. New one made no sense cause scar would have killed her mom knowing she was gone or gone looking for her.
I wish there were more new scenes, the few they added like the one you described were all excellent.
The question is... where's Rafiki "Asante sana squash banana" scene?
The person who originally did him died
there were no bananna's to squash.

I also really liked how when Simba's furball goes flying, we actually see what it goes through. In the original, it just magically finds its way to Rafiki. But here in the remake, it goes through rivers, is carried by birds and other animals. It's just interesting to see all that

Ultra Raijin Mantis Ice Guardian THANK YOU Jesus of course the original is superior but the new one doesn’t deserve all of this shit
Stop paying them for the remakes guys ^^
They should just grab an old Fairytale and make their own version of it. That does still work for the whole family as "Frozen" has proven.

That's like "A Whole New World" from Aladdin taking place over one city that the characters have lived in their entire lives.
I wonder why Rafiki did not have his stick until the end
“Hello, old friend” 🤔
Maybe they make prequel of Lion King, as Mufasa also said that to Scar that, do you want to challenge me "again"
I was so disappointed that he didn't whack Simba on the head.
Maybe it was for dramatic effect, specifically when he said, "Hello, old friend."
2019 missed the boat with Rafiki. “It doesn’t matter it’s in the past.” How could this scene be overlooked?
Absolutely! It hurts, but's in the past...
It doesn't matter! It's in the past! Haha!
I hate what they did to the movie
the boat?
Another mistake they fixed is scar knocking out Zazu. In the original remake, Scar knocked out Zazu during Mufasa’s death and for some reason Zazu didn’t find that suspicious. So in the remake, they have Scar tell Zazu to get help instead of knocking him out.
that then should've given scar less time to "clean up" the simba situation if help was on the way.
@Scorpio Bradley Zazu leaves before he hurls Mufasa off.
“original remake”
-Ivan Kremenetski, 2019.

Scar was being an arse to Zazu.

Realism doesn’t mean better nothing going to recapture the greatness of the animated movie it was a Disney cash grab instead of making a new Disney movie there rehashing old stuff betting on nostalgia

They didn't even fixed mistakes. They fixed good things that were just a cartoonish things.
They didn't make mistakes
They just made one big mistake

You keep referring to the '94 movie as the animated version. However, they are both animated. They are both cartoons.
I think she means animated, in the traditional sense that the '94 movie is that way, where as this one is marked as "live action" even though it's animated.
We can call it Photorealistic cgi. I think that makes sense, since it’s not exactly live action. They did a great job with the 2019 film.
It’s a cgi
Computer animation is the process used for digitally generating animated images. The more general term computer-generated imagery (CGI) encompasses both static scenes and dynamic images, while computer animation only refers to the moving images. Modern computer animation usually uses 3D computer graphics, although 2D computer graphics are still used for stylistic, low bandwidth, and faster real-time renderings. Sometimes, the target of the animation is the computer itself, but sometimes film as well. So it’s not animated it’s called cgi
TheElectroAdam great explanation
None of these things Matter!
None of these things make the Reboot better...
It's true that a lot of these are ... technicalities.
For example, it's possible that roaring cats CAN purr (as it involves a similar organ as roaring), but not in the continuous manner that non-roaring cats (domestic OR wild) do.
The reboot is great!
Why do you hate the remake so much? Seriously, tell me. I'm listening.

It's not a reboot, its a remake. There is a difference. Slight but still present difference

I noticed several changes that the remake made:
