One thing I have been dwelling on after seeing the movie and feeling just so sad coming from “I always wanted a brother” to “you stole my girl you’re both dead to me”( even though he made every attempt not to and she wasn’t even feeling him ) is that principle that Scar was always fundamentally fed this illusion that he was the chosen one and he WANTED Mufasa so surely the world should just bend to that whim, Mufasa is more of a possession than a true brother to him. So at first I was like “how did scar go from that to this” but he was always that way, it was just childish ignorance that blossomed into a lack of character as an adult
I do like they showed throughout the film everything Taka would eventually resent Mufasa for. He masked it for a while, but that last heartbreak brought it all to the surface! Like you said, it was always there. He was always like that - and then he couldn't mask it any more!
Yeah. Every time he sings, it shows some of his internal thoughts that, while they could be innocent taken alone, also kind of has an undertone of entitlement, illusion, and possessiveness.
Thank you! I don’t get the hate from the “critics”. As a Lion King fan, I absolutely enjoyed it. Doesn’t have the same emotional impact of the original but it’s so good! A major improvement from the 2019 remake. And after seeing Mufasa, I don’t hate the remake like I used to.

The narrative of Mufasa’s journey is profoundly compelling, offering a depth and grandeur that surpasses even Simba’s tale. Exploring Mufasa’s origins and the challenges he overcame provides a richer understanding of his character and the legacy he established. This perspective enhances the Lion King saga, highlighting the profound impact of Mufasa’s reign on the Pride Lands.
They should have asked Elton John to write the songs again. His songs for the original Lion King were out of this world! His songs made the film for me.
I think the second CGI one was without a doubt, MUCH better than the first. But it will never capture the magic of 2D animation.
