A good tip my friend, use should remove every key cap one by one and clean underneath the keys, that part of the fan intake, since i did this, the macbook has better cooling this way, i just replace all the key caps on my 2011 macbook pro 13 inch, so they are nice and have that new keyboard feeling i like
@@carcaviar9321 Most of them clip on from the top, the best way of doing this is to use a small flat head screw driver, and go under the key cap, making sure that the tip of the screw driver is above the scissor switch, and than with a light twist, it should just pop off, for the "main part" of the keyboard you can pop em off from the side, but for the function key row and the arrows its best to get the screw driver on the bottom of the keycaps, you can slightly lift those keycaps to see how the scissor switch is mounted, but once you get the hang of it its easy to pop em off, i did this a couple of times, i even made some crazy patterns on a macbook keyboard using black and white keys :p

Not sure if this was mentioned but adding fragile tape to a box is as useful as drawing your own package label on the side. Looks great. Means literally nothing. You have to actually pay for the additional handling. So don't get mad at your mailman lol by the time they get it it's already been thrown around at every sorting hub like it's a box of feathers
Nothing like cat hair to junk up a fan, LOL. Good video and I was pleased to see what you had to say about this computer once you were done. Keep em coming and hopefully more than once a week. ;)
I have a refurbished MacBook Air that simply shut down one day after a few months of using it. Took it to the repair shop and they told me it was bust and there were signs of humidity/water inside. The charger still lights on when connecting it and watching these Macs get restored gives me faith and makes me want to try and repair mine. I just don't know how I'd do it, though.
Looks great, as always man. However, I don't think you need to run the fans at 5000+ rpm. What I do with my old MBP, is have the fans run off the CPU Diode sensor. Setting the minimum temperature between 25-30C should get the fans to spin around 3000 rpm at idle and they will go up adequately on their own from there. If you run the fans that fast, you're just gonna wear them out and have to replace them.
I bought a mid 2009 macbook pro and I'm having a connection timeout issue, I've tried every tutorial with no luck. Any idea on what the issue could be because I can't even use it if I can't connect it to the WiFi unless I use an ethernet cable

The battery may actually have far fewer cycles but sometimes macOS reads the number of cycles the original battery has before replacement. I’ve ran into this kind of problem a couple of times where a brand new battery would read the same nr of cycles as the one it replaces.
You should buy a licence to iStat menus. Its a great tool to monitor system usage, sensors (temps and clock speeds), battery life, and it brings back the remaining time till battery is dead or charged.
my macs battery is absolutely screwed and thermal throttling still occurs even though i changed the thermal paste about 6 months ago, questions are should i replace my macs battery on my own, or give it to someone to do it professionaly, and for the thermal throttling, is it normal for my mac to start throttling when using apps that need alot of processing power like Pro Tools and Logic and sometimes even normal apps like google chrome, and should i change the thermal paste again or is there anything i can do to make it run as it used to, or should i just skip the upgrades and repair and just buy a newer macbook
I would suggest you to change your cleaing methodology. Get yourself a proper air compressor - there are also low rpm pretty quiet ones and firstly blow all possible dirt from the outside and inside with the compressor. Then proceed using brushes, wipes and cleaning liquids.
I can’t even imagine how filthy it is under the keyboard. From my experiences, it more than likely is covered with hair. Would’ve been interesting to see. You were so close when the optical drive was out! Maybe take a peek next time lol.
