    Thank you for this video. Magazine construction requires a lot of thought.
    The Soviets had a special focus on feed lips of self loading firearms. They even machined feed lips into the TT-33. They knew that a magazine is the weak link of a self loading rifle.
    Make it tough, make it durable.

    I love seeing old ass machine tools still running and putting out good work. I used to run a lathe that was retrofitted for CNC, it was original run with the paper ribbons with holes punched in to program it. Despite its age it could hold half thou tolerances

    One of the most strangely beautiful things I have seen. Men doing a job and doing it well. Producing a quality product from start to finish in a single factory. Knowing that there is honor in work, all work, no matter how hard or dirty or repetitive.
    I think I'm going to watch it again.

    • @sandervandenberg977
      @sandervandenberg977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, but the thing is they produce something that has one single purpose, which is to carry bullets, which also have only one purpose, which is to destroy things.
      All these man of great skill do, every dat when they go to work in this factory, is contribute to more and more destruction on the planet they live on. Destruction done by humans of course.
      It's kinda sad to watch actually, because they can use their skills for so many other things that are much more useful and benificial to mankind and the planet as a whole.
      It means it's basically also a waste of raw materials. The more I think about it, the more sad it gets....

      @@sandervandenberg977 Sometimes you need to destroy to protect.Would you not kill a man that was about to rape/kill your wife?If you wouldn't i don't want to live in the same neighbourhood as you.Also i don't think you apply the same standarts to wildlife even though they do same things- hunt other beings for food,kill to protect the pack.Life eat's life That's the way thing's are.

      @@sandervandenberg977 While I perfectly understand where you're going with this, the fact is that pacifism just doesn't work. Yes, guns and knifes kill people. But those Guns and knives at the end of the day are tools, and we can choose to use them to protect good/innocent people from the 'wolves'.

    • @sandervandenberg977
      @sandervandenberg977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2312TOMAS Ofcourse I would kill or hurt someone who's about to hurt or kill, rape whatever one of nu familymembers. But you're missing the point here.
      The point is: Why make something that is designed to hurt or kill other living (human)beings?
      Why designing that in the first place?
      Wanting to hurt others comes from fear. It's fear that we have to overcome. Of course we need to be able to defend ourselves against "fear", but eventually it's better to battle fear itself. Then you won't need these horrible weapons anymore.

    • @sandervandenberg977
      @sandervandenberg977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Commanderhurtz1 It all depends on how you see or perceive yourself and humanity.
      Pacifism is a very tough road, and requires saying the "right" things combined with the willingness to sacrifice and to stay NON-violent no matter what.
      It is however (I think) the answer to all of your "problems".
      There are many people though, that believe that humanity is inherently doomed to keep killing & hurting eachother, because that's in our nature, our genes or whatever. I don't think that's true. But if most people believe this, then THAT will become our common reality.
      Such is the power of (human) belief.
      So all I'm saying is:
      Be very careful with what you believe (in).

    Old, heavy, practically indestructible machinery. Something I think we have lost in this Modern Age. I can't begin to count the parts that fail and have to be replaced in modern machinery, because they just weren't built robust enough. The spot welding brought back memories. I worked on an assembly line in a Fisher Body plant, Pontiac Motor Division in my youth. I spot welded rear deck lids into the bodies. A little bit of copper is lost on each weld and the copper tips erode and become useless very quickly. This means only the first round of welds are ideal. They slowly get worse and worse. I noticed every tip in this video was brand new! LOL! Only show the best! Don't let them see the ones that are close to rejection! Still, love the Hands-On.
