Really great insights to extending the functionality of the 707…You could basically add 4 mono synths and still have 4 tracks of drums, samples and zen core synths to play with!
thank you! Exactly! Glad you enjoyed. Yes this is true... also, if you don't need any effects on them, and don't want a slider to control it, then you could at least get 1 extra mono synth in the External Inputs and not cost one of the 8 MC707 native tracks! I didn't talk much about this because I wanted to feature using the effects, but this is another cool option.
The good thing is you can use 4 of the tracks of the mc707 as midi sequencer in order to sequence notes of external synths, then take those synths back into those same channels as inputs and use the faders as volume control. Then use the track fxs to affect those tracks and the knob asigns for the fx parameters
True! Roland really explored it in the Scooper Eurorack Module...so they've been doing it for years and have a lot of wild possibilities out there. 707 exposes a lot of it but putting it all together is hard. You can also control some of the track effects with it. Just really deep rabbit hole.
Great vid! Can't seem to be able to apply effects to my microfreak. (midicontrolled from track 8 and audio insert through return left on same track). Multifx and reverb/delay works but not the effects you can choose in sound menu on track 8. Any ideas anyone ?
Thanks. My guess would be you are hearing the sound of the microfreak as thru the main Audio Insert (to master so to speak). you need to turn that down all the way and change the setting on Track 8 to use the Audio Insert (maybe called "External Input") not the tone/synth from the track as audio source. I'll see if i can find more details in a bit.
yes, what I said before is mostly accurate. here is it in step by step form: Hit INPUT button -> turn VALUE knob until External In is to 0 Hit SHIFT + SEL on track you want external in on Change AUDIO INSERT to Ext IN L or L/R Then, as this should be a TONE Track, hit SHIFT+SOUND to go into sound design mode. Skip most of it and just change the FX to what you Want. You could EQ it too. now you have access to 40+ amazing effects!!! Assign some of the control of the Effect to KNOB CONTROL for cool adjustments live
@@FenixSongMusic Ty for answering. For future reference and anyone else having the same problem: it just suddenly worked. Maybe just restarting the system solved it. Only the fidgety audio-gods know.
Great Tutorial! Would like to see more MC707 videos
Greetings and Health from Spain ))) I don't speak English but with subtitles in Spanish, I follow your interesting videos )))
Filmed a bunch of video for part 2 of this last night. Really cool stuff. May need to add a bit more to bring it all together.

Awesome point! Thanks!
Good morning mate :-) Wonderful! Have a nice weekend! Geezy cya :-)
Thanks man! You too.

I really think there's something in zencore/scatter, that is yet to be tapped.

MC 707 beats the crap out of Elektron gear for effects and sonic creation. Not even close
