@@TUBEDIGGA The tutorial really simplified the scatter effects for me. Wish there was a way to latch the pads and have the scatter effects activate on beat. The default settings are way to extreme for my taste but for some subtle glitch, it's a nice add on effect.
Great vid! I've got a mc101..was wondering if theres anyway to apply scatter effect without holding pad 1-16 down? I've selected 'aternate' but I'd like it to apply scatter from pad 11..not sure if the process to do this will be thd same on mc101.
Thanks for the video. Is there any way to only scatter certain tracks? For example I hit the scatter button and only have it effect track 1 2 and 3 while the rest play on like normal?
@@en3970 That's a shame. My RC 505 does this and it's my favourite thing for jamming. I'd love a groove box type device to pair with my looper that does the same. Oh well, my search continues.

great, today io have started on the scatter , very helpful.. how can i copy and paste some Scatters to another pad, for example i want to make pads 9-16 only drum bet repeats an 1-9 only the MFX Types. and i like your sound at the beginninge, perhaps you can send the projects file to me.. thank you
You can’t copy and paste the scatter pads to one another but if you have saved your project, you can import the scatter settings for a particular pad to another pad. That’s the workaround

I'm afraid not, I sold the 707 as it became frustrating to use what with the lack of certain sample editing functions. I also found myself using it for basic loops and messing around but not actually finishing any tracks whatsoever.
@@TUBEDIGGA Yeah, I think its more of a sketchpad. I just had the JD-Xi infront of me and that unit kind of reminds me of the MC-707 in a certain way. It has a lot of stuff in it but all the advanced functions are hidden in menues so the question becomes how useful are the easily accessible functions for what one does. Maybe stupid question but do you enjoy finishing tracks on the MPC One for example? I'm kind of hesitent to try one way or the other, since I think I'll be too impatient (workflow on a hardware sequencer vs daw). And when the useful function of the MC-707 is being a glorious rompler with sequencing, I'm not quite sure I want to pay 800. I sold my 707 several months ago as it had some issues that weren't resolved in the last firmware update. I found I was only using it for simple loops rather than something I could work on full tracks.
@@TUBEDIGGA yeah right, good to know. Mind if I ask what you ended up choosing to spend most of your time working with? Trying to select which main machine to use at the moment, would be great to get your perspective/knowledge on what you use. Cheers for your time!
With the MPC you have the XY beat repeat and Air Stutter effects which would be the closest - however the 707 is a little more precise. The MPC timing is fine but isn't as accurate. Also you can't assign all the effects and the different time values and other parameters to the pads on the MPC, you'd have to use custom QLink sets ups (in Qlink project or program mode). The Akai Force can though, using the Macros feature.
I prefer the scatter on the mx-1, I know it's a lot more simple but it seems to be tighter, the 707 scatter can be quite messy I reckon. nice tutorial btw :)
Yes it’s a shame it isn’t tighter, you get some annoying clicks if you don’t trigger it perfectly on time. Couldn’t understand why the actual trigger synchronisation wasn’t precise.
Ok, im starting to wrap my head around this scatter function. The reference manual does not explain it clearly. The owner's manual that comes with the actual MC-707 is worthless. 12 pages and almost half of it is table of contents and disclaimer legal junk.
Well done, by far the best tutorial on the Scatter settings. Thanks!

does the scatter affect each track during the recording via usb or is it just for the output???

Nice to hear some banging jungle. Not sure if I missed it but can you use scatter on only one or selected tracks or is it a global thing? Thanks
