sheesh! gotta love Rolands little quirks! "turn the PC in volume down to make sure you hear it on your input track" this has been driving me nuts! thank you for covering this
Thanks! Your vids on MC-707 make want to get one. I don’t need it but I want it. Besides it would look great in company of my TR8S… And maybe even sound great if I had as much talent as you ;).
@@kalikillaklan for Mac, go to the Roland MC-707 drivers page and find your OS. DL the right driver and install it according to the steps on the driver page before connecting the 707 to the computer. This should set you up to multi-track your audio
thank you for the knowledge. can the mc 707 use two of it's tracks to receive two ableton live tracks, instead of just one like in your video ? (audio through usb)
How can you assign a track to a track in Ableton? For instance program and control track 3 in Ableton with track 3 on the 707 and so on? Or did I completely miss it..?
That is a midi control. You would need to go into Ableton and make the correct settings. What this video shows is how to bring audio from your DAW into the 707 and assign it to a track instead of the default output.
hi, neither my mc707 is playing and pausing the drums that is playing on ableton and i cant play nothing on the mc707 because everything is muted, how can i fix this? i already downloaded the driver and i did every step on the video.
@Natalia Sant Anna hold mute and press each SEL button for each track. That should unmute the tracks. As far as control of the ableton drums, there are a few parameters that would need checking. If you want to contact me through djunit-e.com, we can set up a session to get it all sorted.
I'm sure you can use ableton to create random patterns on the 707. I have never tried, though. There isn't a random pattern generator built into the 707 either. The arpeggiator is the closest random sequence you can get built in.
How can I send MC-707 track back into abelton? (Wanna take a recording from abelton live, send it to mc 707 for reverb effect - check, and then send that back to abelton to record). Thanks for all you do
I would suggest using a reverb in Ableton. Sending PC to the 707 for effect and back requires you to record the mix out of the 707 into Ableton Live. This means muting all other tracks.
When i use the ASIO driver the output seems to bypass the channel settings, so the fader can be at zero and i still get the same sound even with the PC Level set to 0. If i use the MME/DirectX driver it works as expected although the sound quality is not as good. Any ideas why?
wow! thank you. I never knew this. I own 2 MC707 and this will be a gamechanger for me. Thank you.

Audio insert came in an update. So, it's understandable that the dedicated PC audio volume would need to be turned down.
You are awesome! Thank you for many years of great tutorials!
Hi Unit:E, good video, today came Version 1.71, now you can assign Reverb and Delay on ext in or pc in ! Thx for the information on the mc 707
A video actually worth sitting through, subbed man!
Another great informative video. Thanks and keep up the good work
Increíble, muchas gracias!! You´re really awesone, thanks to share everything to the community, appreciate!!

Great information
Very helpful!
Thanks a lot for this video!!
Hi Brian, another excellent tutorial! Please can I send different tracks from DAW to different channels? Is this possible also in Cubase?
Currently, this is not possible.
@@UnitE808 Thank you. Pitty. Never mind 😉
@@UnitE808 is this still not available?
@@chriscrowder3844 still not available. Not a highly requested feature, to be honest. Roland already has the MX-1 that can do that.
Cool, thanks
hey unit e thanks is there any video but with Logic Pro x ? I would love that information thanks again
I would be nearly the same setup. Just need to set the output of Logic to the audio interface stereo out. I'll try to make a Logic video explaining
what kind of drivers do I need any ablketon and mc 707 worked properly together

Unfortunately not right now.. It would be nice to have multi track input as well as the multi track output available through USB.
@@UnitE808 sad. i had always assumed it would work, until today i saw this video.
Is that possible too with Logic Pro or Reason Mr. unit e ?
Absolutely!

Any chance this is also possible on the tr8s?
Not specifically this way. You can run a PC into the ext in of the TR-8S, just not the USB.
why it doesnt appear audio insert in my mc
What firmware version are you on? Need to be 1.5 or higher. Can you give me more details in your issue?

Will this also work the same with the MC-101?
