Will it mess up wheel fitment by getting a big brake kit on my 86?

If they don't interfere with the spoke or barrel of the wheel, forcing you to use a spacer to clear the brakes, then it should not change your wheel spacing or fitment. If they do interfere, then yes, they will change the fitment a bit.

you need to bed them properly on the highway, not public local roads bc you need a 20 min. cool-down period.
