If you track your car? Then yes! Lowering springs will shorten the life of your shocks. But for the streets and simple driving? They will last damn near forever
@@Sorry_ImTruthful There are very few coilovers available for my specific car, and those that are available are suuuper expensive. Im opting for springs, but Im concerned about the ride quality. Im guessing its not gonna be worse than stock, right..?
@@joh1948 it will increase your handling and you will feel the bumps a little more, but not in a aggressive way! So pretty much it won’t make your car lurch forward from hitting bumps and having that annoying bounce from every bump because the springs aren’t as stiff as you would get from coil overs. So good for street driving for a smooth ride and safe lowering stance (except for those hard dips in roads).
@@Sorry_ImTruthful Okay sounds good. Its for my daily driver, and the country I live in have very very good roads. I will most likely go for H&R lowering springs. Thanks!
I’m so torn because I want my car lower without losing much ride quality. Coilovers are more rough but lowering springs might need camber bolts/plates to get alignment back in specs.
as long as you have your toe adjusted correctly, a little camber won't burn your tires out. you might need to correct lower control arm geometry with a roll and center kit
Also forgot to mention, once you change anything suspension wise in your car, you'll hear all kinds of noises, clunks, pops, creaks when going aftermarket.
FUCK yes I got the Eibach progressive springs and heard creaks from out the back, went away after a good 3 months of driving , guess they had to break in or something
Omg most of the people here don't even know how to ride a bicycle. Coilovers are for professional racers to go on the track at high speeds. People here they want to lower the car for the looks. I don't think there is any professional drivers here because professional drivers know what they need. People are non sense this days 😒 Coilovers to drive in the city 🙄😒😑. Please
I know nothing about cars, but I want to lower my ‘21 Lexus IS 350 FSport AWD. In your opinion, should I definitely go coil overs instead of lowering springs? This is the first time ever lowering a car and I want to do it right. Plus, in the future, I might want to add a slightly wider tire for a more aggressive stance. I would love any comments or input you would have. Thank you so much!
What happen if you got some after market complete struts and they was economic. Could lowing spring go into the strut and lower the car with our problems?
Hey guys, great video!! newbie here btw...so a few dumb questions: do cars have coilovers from the factory? Or is that an aftermarket thing ppl add?? I have a 2014 Audi a6 that I want to lower, and I'm leaning towards a coilovers as opposed to the lowering spring from all I watched so far, but am I reducing the suspension quality by getting coilovers? Also, will the car select system (comfort dynamic..etc) still work if the OEM parts aren't there?? Im so confused as to how all that stuff actually work lol
Technically, a coilover is a coil spring over a shock. But in the aftermarket, coilovers are a height adjustable (and often dampening adjustable) suspension setup. If you get lowering springs, you can keep your dynamic suspension settings, but if you get coilovers most of the kits eliminate that (and you get a warning light). Some kits do let you attach the factory dynamic servos, but not too many allow that.
Hi guys! Quick question, what should i buy for my 2014 mazda 6. It’s my daily car. I want it to be smooth ride, no noise etc. can you recommend something for me
How long do coilovers last? I ain't looking on spending all that cash for it to last for 2 years , they better be lasting at least 5.... at least!😒🤨🤔. A this rate I may aswell get air bag suspension 🙄🤦♂️
I have a 2019 Crysler 300S 5.7 V8. I want to lower my car for the aggressive look and plan on getting 305/35/20 on my rear stock rims. Also, performance mods such as, cam, long tube headers etc. What you guys recommend? I plan on keeping this car and passing it down to my son. This car will not be on the track to race, just street drivable
Hello, I have a 2020 Honda Odyssey Touring, I need help deciding if I should get Coilovers or Lowering Springs? I don't want to mess up my suspension, just enought to keep the gap less, plus the stance #VanKultureCanada , please help me decide, thanks
I drive a 2015 Lexus GS 350 F-Sport and that's basically what I am wanting to do; reduce the gap and level the stance. I still want the same comfort ride level that I have with my current springs.
Hello so I got a question, I got h&r lowering springs for my 2014 Kia Rio hatchback, I’m afraid it’ll blow out my shocks, could you guys tell me what after market shocks should I get ? that will last me a long time to run on this car @Redline360
I don't see any performance options, just KYB Excel-G or Gas-A-Just, basically stock replacements. You might want to look into something like this: shop.redline360.com/products/godspeed-monoss-coilovers-hyundai-accent-2012-2017-mss0111
I recommend gas-a-just for the back. I used to run them on my 15 Rio sedan. There are no performance shocks for the front, other than a KDM brand I heard of, if I'm not mistaken
Hey Redline, I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and I was just wondering if I don’t take my car to the track or anything and just want it lowered should I get Lowering Springs or new Coilovers? Just keep in mind that I am only 17 and am limited on how much money I can spend. Also if I do get just lowering springs how long will my stock Coilovers last after that? Thanks.
If you just want to keep it simple and get it lowered, go with lowering springs. Your stock shocks will last as long as their condition... so if they're in good shape they can last you many years with no issues. Many people end up selling their cars before they have a problem with their shocks :)

Hey Eddie. it's really personal preference, but we would recommend TEIN Basis Z. They reuse the OEM top hats, and offer the most comfortable ride from the coilovers in this price range.
