With that bhp it should have been the XJR

Andy, these where the forerunner to XJR, before Jaguar even thought about it, regards Damian.

I doubt it's as valuable as you'd hope - anyone who wanted this kind of car conversion would have gone to TWR (from 1984) instead of Chasseur.
TWR became JaguarSport in 1988 - so the XJR 3.6 (and XJR 4.0 from 1989) would have been available when this Chasseur was bought - clearly a more prestigious badge for the owner. I remember seeing the Chasseurs at motorshows of the time, as well as TWR and Jaguarsport.

@visionsinblue7093, Very good point there are other more prestigious car conversions out there. This particular car sold to an XJ Enthusiast for our estimate including the plate. He wanted a unique car to show and this fits the bill, everyone happy. I agree 'Chasseur' wasn't the best name and didn't have the same sporting pedigree. Personally, it always reminds me of a chicken dinner. Not everyone's cup of tea but they still have fans. Trying to find any of these specials is getting increasingly difficult. When one comes up, you need to grab the opportunity, might not be a next time. That what the new owner did and I am sure he wont regret it. Thanks for the interesting comment, regards Damian

Exactly what I have done myself and your probably have a little more trouble than I did in the mid 90s to find a twr xjrs in a half decent condition many also being just the 5.3 with the body kit and rims not a bored v12 and the other updates on the race tune engine and its a bigger difference than you would be expecte in a few different ways from the handling due to upgrading to the arm struts and springs to get rid off the high soft and comfortable road car with also a very large improvement to bhp and the other improvement in my personal taste and requirements to me and the other people who are dropping it down a few trying to get a look at the badge on the back trying to work out how the biggest oldest xjs just destroyed their new rs dagenham dustbin from the lights and the only way that they are going to cache up is that you can be sure that you your need to stop at the next petrol station and ever other one on your way to your destination and you have to be sure to check your map and mark your journey insuring it will last the distance between petrol stations on the motorway when you get on it hard I think that it was only getting around 7 to 9 mpg and in town driveing in 9 to 12 mpg and it was the 90s so everyone was a bit harder faster and wanted to get a little race on during the boring m25 m40 and nothing ever was able to get close to me only on the A13 or just the B road trips and the incredible Ford cozy on full boost and a over 21 year old man who has a understanding of what lag was the first few years of production only to see the old business manager who has been driving in the non injection system of the past fast but easy for anyone to get a half decent pull off the lights or just waiting on redline every gear change in the hope that the head gasket will hold up to the high temperature and extra pressure on the rings etc. simply even the high maintenance wife dropping off the kids at school can be a rally driver on the way home in a xr3 simple carburetor cars in a very easy to understand the more your foot is down the higher revs than the other person next to you at the lights and a half chance of getting a win on takeoff and bonce off the limit on every gear change somewhere way past intended but it kinda works in the more your air to fuel the bigger bang but the only way to get a half decent pull out of the turbo was to understand what the car is telling the driver it will work correctly at so until the people who understand it can afford the rs turbo and the r5 etc there was no challenge but it is so easy to add a super charged now I think it would be a unstoppable monster

Difficult to say I think, but between £15k-£20k I would think. Need to find the right buyer though I think as it won't be to everyones taste obviously.

Kuddlesworth, as you say difficult to say. I haven't inspected the car but believe it to be a reasonable project. No prefect but not a basket case. The looks are getting easier on the eye as retro 1990's coming in fashion, regards Damian
