The Cybertruck is a perfect example of why you don't want a "futuristic" car from a sci-fi movie. It looks "futuristic" (odd) more often than not because there are design choices made in the "futuristic" car that are impractical and a nightmare to live with in reality. Stainless steel on a car never caught on apart from the DeLorean and this because it's a bitch to keep clean and looks like garbage dirty. The extreme PS1-style angles make the truck dangerously un-ergonomic. The "touch-screen is all the things" philosophy is going to date this thing hard in 10 years and leaves far too many key systems at the mercy of a cheaply made electronic device nobody is going to be able to fix in 15 years. All the electronic buttons that operate crucial parts such as the doors and the transmission (that is, forward and reverse) are already prone to failure and would be deadly in an emergency if inoperable. Grant it, some of these are general Tesla complaints, but it's not a great combination. That said, as you say, we wanted different and here's different. It's gonna be incredibly interesting how the Cybertruck is going to be viewed 30 years from now. Either "Elon's folly" or maybe some enterprising filmmaker can make this thing the hero car (in an ironic sense given the context) of an iconic movie a few years from now, making the Cybertruck beloved by a generation of people and solidifying its place as a classic. Good timing on this video as I saw my first Cybertruck out in the wild today. The design certainly gets attention. I have zero interest in this vehicle but I don't dislike anyone who decides it is right for them. I wonder when the tech will advance to the point where we don't need to access the touchscreen. It would be easier and safer to say commands like "windshield wipers on," "headlights on," "set cabin temperature to 72" or "lock phasers on target" than to have to dig through menus on a screen.
@@JetJiles Interesting. I wonder why they are never covered in reviews. Seems like it'd be better than traditional switches and knobs in certain situations even.
I genuinely really wish this was a reliable and durable vehicle. I love the styling and as a mechanic I feel like I would put up with its issues if it wasn't so fragile. I believe automotive styling peaked in the 80s and engineering peaked in the 90s. But this breaks the mold of the bland cars we see today and I'd love to see more that looks like it. Here's hoping they are able to work out the imperfections or another company can do the same thing better. Great review as always and the highlight of my day! 😁
It is reliable. The only maintenance you will ever need is wiper fluid, cabin air filter, and tires. The panel gaps and build quality issues are notorious for every new model Tesla releases. Launch models X and Y had more issues. So if you wait a year or two, you can get a reliable, more feature rich, better build quality, more efficient battery CT.
I honestly don't hate the exterior design, I think it's unique and interesting, and as a californian, I see it a lot and I always laugh when I do. but everything about how it overcomplicates the simplest of tasks through the dumb iPad, its stupid faults and horrible quality are just a disgrace to car culture and a saddening view of the future of the automotive industry...
As someone who has been in Tesla's since 2019 I can say none of the regular tasks are over complicated and if you cant be bothered to touch the screen you can use voice controls to do what you want.
I'm not sure there's any need, it seems that any stronger collision will turn you into paté and even when you survive, the battery fire will get you before they cut you out of all that steel:)
The stainless steel adds structural strength, corrosion resistance, and safety to the vehicle. Paint degrades over time, chips, and conventional steel rusts out, especially in salty environments like the coast and roads that are salted to remove ice.
While in Austin over the weekend, I saw quite a few of these and I have to tell you, the more I see them the more I like them. Would I own one? Probably not, as an electric vehicle just doesn't make since living in West Texas.
There's pushing boundaries, and there's objectively making a product worse for the sake of appealing to tech Bros. Replacing buttons with touchscreen controls is easily the worst trend in cars over the last 10 years
The interior, god, I've never seen anything so BLAND for a brand new vehicle. Horrible design. I can't help but laugh for the fact there are no gauges at all in front of the steering wheel and all you have is nothing but a big Ipad screen. One thing he forgot to say that because the Cybertruck's body is metal, just like 1980s and older classic cars, you will likely get hurt in a crash even if the truck itself seems fine and do some collateral damage onto whatever it hits.
I worked at a proving ground in AZ. This looks like what they would do to a new vehicle to prevent spies from flying over and duplicating it. I can’t unsee it.
just like a PT Crusier it get soo much hate with the styling. sure it isnt the prettiest car but i love the cybertruck not because of the tech, the 4 wheel turning but i love odd vehicles just like the plymouth prowler and i wish more automakers can make weird cars like the early 2000s with the prowler, Chevy SSR and so on

@@bwofficial1776 yeah useful at driving 15mph under the speed limit to the grocery store on the weekend. 99% of "real" trucks don't get used for their intended purposes.
“75% of truck owners use their trucks for towing once a year or less, and 35% use them for hauling once a year or less. A 2023 survey by Strategic Vision found that two-thirds of pickup owners rarely or never use their trucks for towing, and a third rarely or never use them for hauling “ I do have a truck and I use it for my job every single day for towing and hauling, I carry dirt bikes and other toys, and I go off-road every month. I love trucks, but what I love more is using the right tool for the job. What’s worse than the cybertruck is that the F-150 is the most sold vehicle in America every year even though it’s proven that they don’t even use it like a truck, which means it’s purely a vanity things so some dude with too much money can feel like a “real man.” Quit being children - the vehicle you drive isn’t the thing that determines if you’re a real man. Trucks are incredibly dangerous everyone else - other cars, kids, pets, pedestrians, etc. We don’t need to bash on the cybertruck for being the first iteration of incredible technological advancement (people used to hate on cars in favor of horses - new technology takes time to perfect,) what we need is to get people to stop buying trucks in the first place. People don’t need trucks. They need a friend with a truck. And complaining about glitches is wild. Current ice trucks also completely lock up if their computer glitches. Computers literally run the entire thing, including the engine.
When i get my ultimate future car what i would do with it is; Remote control drive it to a public spot and use it as a boombox to play my loud music for every one, But noone is around me to stop it because I'm somewhere else. Because the real purpose of loud music is to share it 25/8 cranked up to 11
Did you know that the steering ratio is variable? I'm just curious because of how you called it a ratio. It is, just one that changes a lot depending on circumstances.
I think a Futuristic Sporty Coupe would work better with this styling concept. I like the styling idea, but the size and mission is just wrong for my senses. This won't haul any more Dirt-bikes than my 87 Toyota. 8:18 Are those Bug Stains on the nose? A DeLorean looks handsome compared to this.
I would like it if it wasnt marred with so many issues Rusting, water damage, accelerator pedal issues. So many problems If it had these issues fixed with a gauge cluster physical buttons for climate and door handles i would really love this car but there is too much that outweighs my likes
I was invited to the second step and gave Tesla another $1000. There’s something off though so let me know what you think: 1. I did the original preorder in June 2021. I figured I was somewhere between 150k-200k based on some articles I read at the time. The recent recalls where they are forced to publish figures suggest Tesla made some 12K trucks by July 2024. So, how did I get invited unless like 80-90% dropped out?! 2. I am looking on CarGurus now and the Cyberbeast, which is like 131k for the tag, is being sold in multiple states for 140k-143k which is a modest premium and is almost breakeven Does this sound like what was advertised? I think I have another 2-3 months before they call me for the final payment and delivery but this is starting to look like a major flop and I might have to walk away since cheaper to let go of the deposits than pick up a car which could be depreciating like the rest of the Teslas. Where can I see reliable information on how many cars they made and how many preorders still exist? Also, was considering renting it on Turo for like $350-400/day. Thoughts on the feasibility?

You appeared to forget to mention that the tailgate has a soft close feature. I can’t wait for an aftermarket company to do a tailgate with incorporated steps.
I saw (reacted) to seeing one of these for the very first time yesterday, I hadn't a clue what it was and thought it was a home build wooden car. Needless to say I don't think I'll be in the market for one. I recall people having a similar reaction to the DMC which became iconic in "Back to the future" movies. I doubt this truck will ever have the great fortunes to become iconic.
Great, now how about a cybercargovan? With a 500-mile range, like the 35-gallon tank the Ram 1500 had. Rub silicone spray on the bumpa, and it will be clean when you get there.

Good video! I absolutely love the CyberTruck. I see them pretty much daily and have a buddy with one. I do wish they had put a driver's console. I drove a Model 3 as a rental and sorely missed the console. Not sure I'd get a CyberTruck over an F150 Lightning, as the Lightning is much more of a "real" truck. Also, Tesla is missing Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. I know the Tesla Fanbois will say you can load apps, but I find that clunky and less efficient. ! so far, but it's not really many out in the wild
I'm not sure there's any need, it seems that any stronger collision will turn you into paté and even when you survive, the battery fire will get you before they cut you out of all that steel:)
The problem with the cybertruck is that it's made by telsa
That's the best part!
I thought they were ugly. I saw one in person today and i now love it
@Tomato-y8y More like Vincent Van Gogh, after he cut his ear off.

LMAO, if you would’ve asked any teenager in 1998 to drive this to school, they would’ve slapped on their rollerblades for the next four years!
I don't understand why they didn't just make the exterior like other vehicles and paint it silver. It's really a bad idea to make it stainless steel.
The stainless steel adds structural strength, corrosion resistance, and safety to the vehicle. Paint degrades over time, chips, and conventional steel rusts out, especially in salty environments like the coast and roads that are salted to remove ice.
Have people drunk so much Kool-Aid they can't see this thing is pathetic?
While in Austin over the weekend, I saw quite a few of these and I have to tell you, the more I see them the more I like them. Would I own one? Probably not, as an electric vehicle just doesn't make since living in West Texas.
Why would anyone want to spend thousands of dollars riding around in a trash can it's just hideous
It’s clear that musk has never had to lift a finger to do anything beside click a mouse or keyboard, much less done blue collar work a day in his life
You like that Tesla pushes boundaries but cant get used to a screen and no buttons. Lol
There's pushing boundaries, and there's objectively making a product worse for the sake of appealing to tech Bros. Replacing buttons with touchscreen controls is easily the worst trend in cars over the last 10 years
To quote Jurassic Park, _That is one big pile of shit._
I’ve been saying this about tesla interiors for years. it’s soviet austerity with a luxury pricetag
it does better in crash testing than an f150

I worked at a proving ground in AZ. This looks like what they would do to a new vehicle to prevent spies from flying over and duplicating it. I can’t unsee it.
This looks like the military truck from the 70s alien movie designed The bodie style look 80s lights do look 2024
just like a PT Crusier it get soo much hate with the styling. sure it isnt the prettiest car but i love the cybertruck not because of the tech, the 4 wheel turning but i love odd vehicles just like the plymouth prowler and i wish more automakers can make weird cars like the early 2000s with the prowler, Chevy SSR and so on
Money pit on wheels
Honda had four wheel steering back in 1988-1989 with the Honda Prelude Sport Coupe. It was an option that was not ordered very much expensive to maintain so Honda axed four wheel steering for the 1990 model year due to rel
@American_Voyager101
Have you ever driven it in over 100F weather? I’m curious on how the air conditioning holds up.
It’s so bizarre and unique that it’s awesome. I totally dig it. Saw one today for the first time and I was like 👀
Getting destroyed by the sun on you due to the big sunroof all around the back=not a good option when buying this vehicle!
I legit saw my first cybertruck today in Debutts restaurant as I was heading out we were heading to Nashville just got here an I loved it
Great video, there is 1 of these in the UK currently and I seen it at Tesla Glasgow the other day. It is positively HUGE for UK roads!
I thought it isn't going to be sold in Europe because it doesn't pass safety regulations there.
@@damilolaakanni It can't be sold in the EU but the UK decided to do their own thing and is not subject to the EU any more.
Imagine putting spinner rims on it. It can win a medal for ugliest car in the galaxy.
One of the dumbest vehicles ever.
Same can be said for most of the oversized trucks on the road.
@@anthonykiedis1765 At least those are useful as trucks.

Does it separate recycling from trash?
Shooting cars - the CT bed can hold FULL SHEET plywood w/ Tailgate down.
TESLA also sells a INFLATABLE tent and Cargo Storage system for CT.
Yes 3000 for a tent that looks like the back end of a camel.
I didn't know in the USA a full sheet of plywood is 9nly 6 foot long
It looks like a Doorstopper and a Dumpster
So stoked to see Zack come this far.
Kind of reminds me of the hummer craze some 15 years ago. Big stand out vehicle only meant to turn heads.
Is there no Tesla emblem on the back or front?
Certainly brings to mind the Pontiac Aztec lovely
“75% of truck owners use their trucks for towing once a year or less, and 35% use them for hauling once a year or less. A 2023 survey by Strategic Vision found that two-thirds of pickup owners rarely or never use their trucks for towing, and a third rarely or never use them for hauling “
I do have a truck and I use it for my job every single day for towing and hauling, I carry dirt bikes and other toys, and I go off-road every month.
99 percent of those same truck drivers drive like shit.
Not true where live
When i get my ultimate future car what i would do with it is;
Remote control drive it to a public spot and use it as a boombox to play my loud music for every one,
But noone is around me to stop it because I'm somewhere else.
Because the real purpose of loud music is to share it 25/8 cranked up to 11
How much does it cost? Thank you.
I also like the cybertruck looks for being different looking
Does the cyber truck bed fit a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood or drywall?
I think it does
Did you know that the steering ratio is variable? I'm just curious because of how you called it a ratio. It is, just one that changes a lot depending on circumstances.
I think a Futuristic Sporty Coupe would work better with this styling concept.
I like the styling idea, but the size and mission is just wrong for my senses.
This won't haul any more Dirt-bikes than my 87 Toyota.

Rusting, water damage, accelerator pedal issues. So many problems
If it had these issues fixed with a gauge cluster physical buttons for climate and door handles i would really love this car but there is too much that outweighs my likes
I was invited to the second step and gave Tesla another $1000. There’s something off though so let me know what you think:
1. I did the original preorder in June 2021. I figured I was somewhere between 150k-200k based on some articles I read at the time. The recent recalls where they are forced to publish figures suggest Tesla made some 12K trucks by July 2024. So, how did I get invited unless like 80-90% dropped out?!
2. I am looking on CarGurus now and the Cyberbeast, which is like 131k for the tag, is being sold in multiple states for 140k-143k which is a modest premium and is almost breakeven
Does this sound like what was advertised? I think I have another 2-3 months before they call me for the final payment and delivery but this is starting to look like a major flop and I might have to walk away since cheaper to let go of the deposits than pick up a car which could be depreciating like the rest of the Teslas. Where can I see reliable information on how many cars they made and how many preorders still exist?
Also, was considering renting it on Turo for like $350-400/day. Thoughts on the feasibility?
It looks awesome! The price, however, does not.
Ugly+gaps+terrible build quality. That's the best they could offer.

Saw one on The Perimeter (I-285)
Didn't hate it but the hype died after they delayed it so many times.
Shocked it failed the BFBT. Even modern day giant trucks are not exempt!
I first saw one of these on the side of the road on a VERY foggy morning akin to a Silent Hill game. Thought for a moment that the world textures hadn't loaded in yet.
Thanks for another great video Zack! One for the algorithm
I just watched a durability Test on the Cyber Truck and it seems cheaply made to me.
This truck describes the time we are living in. Bland
Great, now how about a cybercargovan? With a 500-mile range, like the 35-gallon tank the Ram 1500 had. Rub silicone spray on the bumpa, and it will be clean when you get there.
I saw one of these today, never saw one before (including pics or videos)..freaked me out, I snapped a pic to show to others. Looks like it made to dice thru zombie mobs during a SHTF scenario.
Building crazy interiors without having standard spaces for infotainment systems 1 or 2 din should be illegal. Just in case stuff like the screen dies which it absolutely will just matter of time.
You never brought up where the charging area is. How it charges.
The lightning didn't load yet
Cybertruck, already outsold Lightning.
For that much money I would get something that looks a lot better and cheaper to fix.
I would prefer a “Heads Up Display” on the windshield
Haha, oh boy.. here it is. Unfortunately, the Cybertruck is what happens when someone like Musk takes over an innovative startup or established website.
Quality control is the first to go.

A truck that the "Terminator"would ❤️
Even terminator probably wouldn’t get in that thing he’s a motorcycle cyclist
As for the seats, I wish Tesla used real leather, and not artificial seats.
Made me throw up a little
