- Hopefully you never need to splice the winch rope on your 4wd winch while your bogged on a muddy hill. But in case you ever need to, here is how!

What would you film to make the start of a winch rope repair video interesting? 🤷♂️ I could just start it with 'Today I'm going to show you how to'. But that's just not the fun nature of my channel 🙂

Outstanding video pal. I don't own a 4x4 but I still really enjoy watching your content. I do hike and hammock camp frequently; I've replaced my suspension lines with Amsteel, and the exact same principles apply with rigging and repairing the Dyneema material.

Really informative and enjoyable. I noticed in a previous clip you had a habit of stepping over the winch rope while it was under strain or tension, can I suggest this is an action best avoided. Keep the videos coming. 👍

I really like your little bloopers at the end. I've seen other you tube channels that have their little blooper sections at the end of the clip, and they are always entertaining.
WOW, this showed up in my stream. I watched this when it came out, and it's still some of the best content for overlanding and off-roading I've ever seen.

I guess it helps to part the rope by leaving the parking brake on too! Good video/education all uses need when the line truely parts for; whatever reason! Enjoying the video's !

You do very good videos. Professional, simple but through explanation of 'How to perform, what -to-do' in an unexpected situation. I have found Life usually doesn't give one a classroom/ Lab example, rain, mud, fire, medical emergency, etc., and the best one can hope for is to have some training, back-up options, and maybe some ingenuity & luck. Amazing what a creative human can pull off if you keep your head, and your videos are an excellent training resource. Thank you.

Always learning something. I initially thought why not use a steel cable? Then at the end I saw how tough this stuff really is.. and repairable.
Plus steel cable weighs so much more (huge difference when running it up a hill), and you need to wear heavy gloves when handling it to avoid slicing your hand open on any loose strands, the only problem with rope is you have to avoid rubbing it against rocks (but you can buy sliding sheaths that just stay on the rope, roll up on the drum and be be placed where needed).

Works like Chinese finger cuffs! Super easy I’ve done a couple repairs like youve shown but on smaller diameter dyneema for side x sides with 3500 lb to 4500 lb winches! Great demo man!
