I know Myamoto only wanted them to use characters from the Mario family, but Toadsworth clearly fits in there.

I actually didn't realize toadsworth wasn't in paper jam. another reason to HATE paper jam!
Toadsworth is back in the Mario & Luigi Superstar Remake.
Hopefully it jumps some more popularity in the character to become a mainstay like Captain Toad did with Toadette.

Agreed. I think i should get Mario and Luigi on my Wii-U virtual console so i can finally get revenge on that boss.

I recently bought the game and basically just upgraded attack every level up, and gave Luigi pants that let him use a move before the enemy in a fight. It let him heal Mario and himself before the enemy could get the end of our health gone. Then I just hung in there and smacked her up.

I got so ticked when he called it the *Superstar Saga Series* instead of *Mario & Luigi RPG Series*.
The Mario and Luigi games are rarely ever talked about amongst Normal Boots or Hidden Block, finally one of you acknowledges them...
It's kinda sad how M&L gets way less attention than Paper Mario. It's better IMO.

I never played Paper Jam, but I played the other 4. Dream Team was the worst IMO, it was just not as good as the others. Bowser's Inside Story is still one of my favorite games of all time, and I loved the other two as well.

Now that you mention it, E Gadd was pretty much everywhere after Luigi's Mansion. He was in the Mario Party games, this game and PIT. I'm surprised he's not in Mario Kart yet. I'd rather have him in the roster of that franchise. The Mario Kart games have been pretty lazy with regards to characters (Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach).
He didn't really stay like Rosalina did.

Me and a lot of other people got mad and left after that... That twist would've been perfect for the spoiler section, but without the spoiler section, it ruined a couple of our experiences.
I think being inconsiderate will make you lose more views than saving spoilers for it's own warned section.

the main problem with the removal of the spoiler section - this video contains a spoiler / plot twist woth no warning!
The spoiler section was stupid. I couldn't watch episodes about games I hadn't played because I wanted to know if I should bother completing them or not, but I didn't want to know story spoilers, and skipping the spoiler section with the button wouldn't ONLY skip the story stuff, but ALSO all the completion stuff, making the video pointless. I'd have to go digging through the video trying to find where the story spoilers ended and the completion stuff began so I could watch the part I wanted to watch without seeing the part I didn't want to watch, but then by searching through the video LOOKING for that part, I'd end up seeing story stuff in the spoiler section! It was a nightmare and wasn't worth it so I stopped watching the videos. I'm glad the spoiler section is gone. Jirard's reviews aren't about the story, they're about the completion aspect of the gameplay: what it takes to complete the game and what you GET for completing the game. Unless the completion bonus is story-related, like a bonus ending or something, there's no reason to include story spoilers at all in a review about completing a game and unlocking everything in it.

superstar saga was one of my first game and I loved the game when I was 4 and I'm still playing right now in 2017 and I'm so hyped for the remake for the 3ds
Wait, you said you had to grind in order to beat the final bosses, yet you had zero deaths? How does that work? Did you know exactly what level you needed to be ahead of time?
I never had a problem with grinding at all in his game. You can avoid every attack in the game with skill, so theoretically, there shouldn't be any mandatory grinding.
I think he means he barley beat the hard bosses or something then started
i think it will be quite hard to beat final boss without any death..you have to trial n error remembering boss's pattern attack

When facing cackletta soul, you have 1 hp and bp on both bros, and she has insane speed. So either you dodge her attacks perfectly, or you grind up enough speed to heal on turn 1.
Maybe I suck at games but in the remake even when I got 7 gold mushrooms or a insane number like that the boss was still challenging
Tbh we did get a sequal its the rest of the series everything is a big continuation and its technically the only lore fore the Mario series
And Geno does appear in this game, if only as a puppet to explain one of the minigames.

Paper Mario and M&L games are fun, but I wish Mario RPG would get a true sequel! It's one of my favorite games too!
same, very much so, in fact i hope one day to get a team of indie devs together and create a fanmade sequel that's Free to Play for everyone, bringing in even more characters from the Mario Universe and taking in as much diversity and fun as possible to put into the fan game.
I just had a million dollar idea. Not Mario RPG 2 but Smash RPG! Too many characters/you don't want to play Chrono Cross? No prob, just turn Mario(maybe Luigi as well) into a traveling freedom fighter, teaming up with other characters to do the heavy lifting and then move on to let them mop up. Each main story chapter would be a setting that multiple smash characters came from. Liberally sprinkle in side quest single locations with one off smash characters(Captain Falcon, Captain Olimar, Mr. Game & Watch etc.).
This is one of my favorite games of all time and one of my first, you did an amazing job Jirard. One of my favs of your videos! Keep it up man.

Thank you so much for playing this game Jirard. This was my childhood game and i played it for countless of hours with multiple play throughs. Even though i'm 18 now i play it to this day. I was so glad to see that you acknowledged the humor the game has and the flushed out character development between the two brothers. That is exactly why i love this game. Because of how much they show the relationship between them and just how quirky and goofy they are. Gah i don't always comment on videos but when i do i go off on a dumb cheesy paragraph. Well....he got at least as close to 100% as you can in this game. There's a boss that, depending on how you beat it, gives 1 of 2 items, so you ALWAYS miss one item in a run. Very minor though, and I don't think this was an "all items" run anyway.
Also vote with the Mario RPG stuff, alternate series and go in order, so Thousand Year Door next.

which boss are you referring to? I don't remember a boss with random drops...
McBehrer it's the piranha plant that eats the bean fruit as I recall, and it's not random, it's determined by what you land the final blow with. either gives pants or a badge.
This is, no joke, one of my all time favorite games ever made. It's so good and it holds up really well, so much so that I was actually playing this game the other day.
Not to mention the soundtracks for the bosses and the final boss being badass! Without spoiling it but I LOVE the final boss music both of the variants and listen to them constantly
Jirard beat Cackletta without dying? That's crazy! I mean, I personally never grinded, but still, that fight took me so many tries.
The first time I fought Cackaletta It was really hard and I ended up buying 99 1-up supers. But now I don't need to grind in the slightest to EASILY beat her

Fun fact: In E. Gadd's Coffee Shop, it was said that he was only supposed to give you the first reward. For all others, he would be randomly replaced by Wario, Samus Aran, Fox McCloud, Captain Olimar, Link, or an Excitebike racer.

5:27 I like the implication that Mario & Luigi don't live to far from Peach's Castle as you can see it in the background. It explains how they start their adventures close on Bowser's Tail after he kidnaps Peach.

PIT is ass. I could not finish the chore that extends the play time by making the enemies have too much hp. There's no strategy in the battles, it's rinse and repeat cannon every time. The locations aren't interesting...

RockEsper Yeah, all the footage he played showed him using Lv. 1 Bros. attacks. I never use them, they're weak and make battles too slow.

It's more likely that he was showing how they work to illustrate the 'button-pressing minigame' aspect of the attacks. I find it more likely that, as the Completionist, he quickly unlocked the Advanced versions and used those.
