Nobody wants dynamic character arcs in Kirby, huh? Just wait till you reach the 3DS games, Beard Bro. Jokes aside, I'm pumped that you're covering K64. I bought it a few months back and love it to bits.
I think the lack of power combinations since 64 is due to HAL going for the Kirby's Superstar path, with the variety coming from the multiple attacks via each copy ability rather than the combined powers each with a single type of attack.
Another secret in the game: If you suck up certain enemies and instead of swallowing them press "R" (In Wii U) You'll hold them over your head and use their unique traits (That one enemy with the umbrella gives you the ability to glide down etc.)
My favorite thing to do as a kid was inhale the purple glider enemy and hold it above my head and just glide across the level to see how far I could get
Its so awesome to see how the intro has evolved over the years. It just got more and more badass. I'm not sure how much more awesome you can pack into it.
WAAAH! Don't eat me! I don't even have any abilities! ...unless you wanna get half-decent at doom and dark souls. plus I don't taste that good! I checked.
Adoline never showed up in any other Kirby game? Guess someone hasn't played Kirby's Dreamland 3. Heck some of the other enemies and bosses first showed up there too. 3 also happens between 2 and 64: The Crystal Shards.
Honestly speaking, even though this is my favorite Kirby game, I really think you should've done dreamland 3 before this, as I consider crystal shards to be the second half to that game, similar to sonic 3 and sonic & knuckles, especially with ado/Adeline and zero/02
This game will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my very first video game; a Christmas present after my mom noticed me enjoying it so much back when McDonalds still had N64 consoles in (some of) their play areas.
If you're on an N64 nostalgia trip can I make a suggestion to complete Turok Dinosaur Hunter? I remember wanting this game so much when I was really little but my mom wouldn't buy it for me because she said it was too violent. But my love of Dinosaurs drove me to convince my grandma who didn't know anything about video games to pick it up for me at Toy's R Us. I got home super excited only to be confused as to why the game wouldn't fit in my Super Nintendo. Then promptly grounded by my mom when she found out I went behind her back and she returned the game. Didn't get a chance to play until years later when I saw it at Blockbuster. Man, nostalgic overload.
Seeds of Evil was great bro, it was Wars and 3 that kinda killed the series. Although I liked Evolution alot and the one for 360 while not a real Turok game was also really good.
play Kirby Squeaky Squad for the DS , it was my very first fully completed game and it has a fair amount of enjoyable playtime, and of course it's kirby
there's a bit of a glitch for the shard you get for beating the snowman mid boss where if you collect the shard and leave at the same time with double fire it erases it from the game but other than that there is absolutely no reason to not complete this game. Do it!
yeah I played this game dozens of times as kid, but never collected all the shards. Of course this was before TH-cam where you could look up guides. I did play it on the Virtual Wii, but still never had the desire to collect all the shards to get the true final boss
Oh God. That means he'll have to do all of the troubles! Talk about the epitome of monotonous & unrewarding(with a few exceptions) fetch quests with backtracking galore. UGH!
Souns a lot like BotW =/ now, being serious, i doubt he would like the game, i think he would not like it either because people love that game instead of Sticker Star and/or Color Splash (which he as a nintendo apologist has to defend from any criticism) OR because the most rabid fanboys would just ruin the experience with their min/maxing "you played the game wrong" attitude...or just because the game would feel too "old/outdated" for him if he has never touched it =/
The real reason ability mixing isn't in most Kirby games is because it would be hard to add more abilities. Kirby 64 had only 7 base abilities, and 28 total combinations. Future Kirby games would match the total number of combinations with fully fleshed out abilities. Honestly, I think it's a step up that ability mixing isn't the main focus.
Not only that, but the abilities in Kirby 64 are way simplified, as each ability (including mixed ones) can only do one attack (Maybe the fridge is more unique in that it can also heal you). In Kirby Super Star/Ultra, and any game that comes after Kirby Return to Dreamland (not counting spin-offs), every ability has an entire move set of its own, not counting abilities with limited quantity of times it can be used, such as Crash, or that are under a time limit (or limited until the level is over), such as the Super Abilities, and Hypernova.
You know I love every video you make Jirard. But this one is amazing and so accurate! Just dawned on me your ARE my favorite TH-camr :) Keep doing you my man :D
Just wanted to say Jirard, love your videos, no matter what game. You produce awesome quality content! Best youtube intro ever!!! Please complete Final Fantasy XV for me! Thank yooouu!!!
I'm so happy that you covered this game. One of my first memories is playing this game in my disney world hotel room. Any one else remember those gamecubes where you could rent games?
If you didn't beat Boss Rush mode without losing any life energy, you didn't get the secret victory screen, and you didn't actually complete the game 100%.
Can't really complete Pokemon solo, either. If he does ever do the Battle Networks, he'll probably get a guest to help out, just like with Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
Jirard, my dude, you are looking so good! That was the first thing I noticed when the video started. The Buff Bois workouts and all that are definitely paying off!
The mix system is honestly why I love this game so much, that and squeak squad. Kirby games are super fun but the mixing was always awesome to do. Besides that my favorite Kirby games are the ones with co-op... BRING ON THE SWITCH KIRBY!
I loved that hopping race when I was younger. It's honestly one of two real memories I have of this game. The other is Ice Skating. I loved the Ice Skating power-up combo.
Amen on the Mix ability. I loved 64 just because of that and hearing that they'll take a similar method with the latest Kirby game has me beyond excited.
12:39 I couldn't help but think of "You get *nothing*, you *lose*! Good day, sir!" Also, I hope the Switch Kirby game's combo abilities are more involved. I love this game to death (first Kirby game I played, would always rent it from Blockbuster), but after playing Super Star, and the games after Return to Dreamland, the one use abilities in Crystal Shards definitely seem lackluster, especially since how some were pretty ineffective or uninspired (Ice/Fire or Rock/Electric, even if the latter was kind of fun, it was chaotic, to say the least).
Dream Course (Golf with way worse controls and more or less actively punishing you for not being perfect), Tilt and Tumble (Fun idea until you realize that the Gameboy only really let you see clearly from a few different angles and tilting to move actually made you lose sight of your game and I did 100% it as a rental), Avalanche (If your bad at those kind of games, like me) and Pinball (Its pinball, the game is random, even with knowledge of how the ball moves, its still a coin toss to get it where you want it to go), all arguably bad games maybe not universally bad, but...
+Tsukikage noknight Also, Dreamland 2, at least if you go for 100% completion. Who thought using the worst abilities of the worst characters in the worst levels for those abilities would be fun? And who thought trial & error autoscrolling rooms would be fun? Squeek Squad sucks too but mostly because it took being easy to such extremes that everything felt pointless.
I remember getting this from Blockbuster, rented it quite a few times as a kid then ended up picking it up at a used video game store. This brought back some memories, thanks Jirard.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror for a future Completionist review?? Loved that game when I was younger, my personal favorite Kirby game and would love to see it completed!
Man, when i was a kid and my mum surprised my brother and i with this game, i spent hours mixing. It was my favourite thing. I loved being the 'rock-bird'. Ah, nostalgia, you're the best kind of drug!
The feeeeelllls, the nostalgic feels. I loved playing this game so much, would rent it every weekend the local family video had it in stock. So many weekends spent playing this game. Can't wait for the new one.
So nobody’s gonna talk about the description being Enter The Martix?
Ok.....
I had to go up and look at it. ROFL!

You're right, it wasn't really a joke.

My favorite thing to do as a kid was inhale the purple glider enemy and hold it above my head and just glide across the level to see how far I could get
@@SpicyWah it's been 4 years...
This is the most passive aggressive I have seen the Completionist.
You and AntDude would make a beautiful Kirby collab video.
I was thinking the video had a serious lack of AntDude.
Menstruation Frustration No.
Yes I would love this collab
Menstruation Frustration we all have the same idea
I see you everywhere.
while I was working at a daycare, one day I thought I'd bring up an n64 emulator on my phone, ALL of the kids wanted to play this game.
The kids know how to have a good childhood

He comes right back at ya! x2
Sorry Jirard, but Adeleine appeared in Kirby's dreamland 3 so the character was used in two games
mastermind5610 ado was in Dreamland 3 . It isn't 100% the same character , even if they look SUPER alike
0nirayju I think the devs confirmed that the two are the same character
If I recall though, it's PRETTY heavily implied to be the same character. Though, they do look a bit different.... So eh, I guess they could be twins.
I always just figured they were siblings.
That guys name is Ado.
Its so awesome to see how the intro has evolved over the years. It just got more and more badass. I'm not sure how much more awesome you can pack into it.
William Phillips maybe Jirard could have a full body transformation for Beard Mode?
What was your favorite power/power combo from Kirby?
obviously fridge kirby, who doesn't love fridge kirby
That One Video Gamer The bomb shurikens from 64 were always my favorite
The Shock-Rock from this game.
Ninja stars
Thunder+Cutter, I loved the double electric lightsaber as a kid. Also shoutout to the amazing Butter Building remix in this game.
The Darth Maul lightsaber will always be one of my favourite copy abilities from this game
ProbablyAFilthyWeeb Fridge Kirby best Kirby.
ProbablyAFilthyWeeb Exploding ninja stars is the best ability. Super fast, no max range, and they explode.
They're also just plain cool. I love the fireworks one for pretty much the same reason.

Guys I just realized something. Kirby lives on planet pop star. But he is bad at singing. Is Nintendo saying pop stars can't sing?
So that's why they tried to sabotage Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.
Julius Xeno they're probably right.
Trigspro789 I wasn't saying Nintendo was wrong
What you mean Kirby is bad at singing? have you ever played the games? he ALWAYS blasts the audience away with his songs =D
Julius Xeno Illuminati confirmed
Adoline never showed up in any other Kirby game? Guess someone hasn't played Kirby's Dreamland 3. Heck some of the other enemies and bosses first showed up there too. 3 also happens between 2 and 64: The Crystal Shards.
maugos He’s right. 3 is between 2 and 64
Technically they're different characters.
Not really. Ado is just a shortening of Adeleine's JP name "Adorenu"
maugos he said in the beginning that he only played 1 and 2
and rainbow paint brush?
If you beat boss rush without taking a hit there's a special sprite of kirby with pieces from all the bosses.
This game was my introduction to the Kirby series, and it's still my favorite of the bunch, much thanks to the combinations!
Right when it said "The Reward" I got an ad that was of Kirby Star Allies
Has Jirard played "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse" yet? I really loved that game because it helped me get through a really tough time a few years back.

Oooooof
I really got into the Kirby series after playing this game a couple of years ago or so. NOW I NEED MORE KIRBY!
You forgot to beat Boss Rush mode without taking damage to get a special screen
Is that actually a thing?
I don't know if that gives you more than one screen, but there is a fusion of Kirby and all the main bosses for one of the Boss Rush screens.
My favorite Kirby game :) I remember renting this so many times from Movie Gallery. Glad you gave yourself a break this week Jerard.
Do mega man battle network next!!!
Yes! Play them all Jirard... Do it!
And when you get to 4 all I can say is sorry.
CactusErebittsu or atleast 5 ds that isncompletable solo if i remember right
oh yeah i forgot that you cant really complete them solo...

Jirard, my dude, you are looking so good! That was the first thing I noticed when the video started. The Buff Bois workouts and all that are definitely paying off!
You could complete Dream Daddy
There are only three dates per Daddy, it wouldn't take that long. Although, I would complete it just to hear all the dialogue.
You make the most quality content on the internet. I love you and your channel so much
I'd try a Maxim Tomato
This was my first experience with Kirby and I enjoyed it. Keep up the great work!
Do Monster Hunter.
The mix system is honestly why I love this game so much, that and squeak squad. Kirby games are super fun but the mixing was always awesome to do. Besides that my favorite Kirby games are the ones with co-op... BRING ON THE SWITCH KIRBY!
you should try kirby robobot it's the pinacle of kirby games
I loved that hopping race when I was younger. It's honestly one of two real memories I have of this game. The other is Ice Skating. I loved the Ice Skating power-up combo.
Can you do The legend of Zelda Wind Waker next?
Amen on the Mix ability. I loved 64 just because of that and hearing that they'll take a similar method with the latest Kirby game has me beyond excited.
I was a little mad when he insulted Adeleine and she DOES return as Ado
12:39 I couldn't help but think of "You get *nothing*, you *lose*! Good day, sir!"

I love this game to death (first Kirby game I played, would always rent it from Blockbuster), but after playing Super Star, and the games after Return to Dreamland, the one use abilities in Crystal Shards definitely seem lackluster, especially since how some were pretty ineffective or uninspired (Ice/Fire or Rock/Electric, even if the latter was kind of fun, it was chaotic, to say the least).
oh.

Yeah I've seen it some time ago but anyway thank you

Squeek Squad sucks too but mostly because it took being easy to such extremes that everything felt pointless.
I used to not like this game because there were no hats and the copy abilities were different but you inspired me to play it again and now I LOVE it.
Wtf is up with the description?
IK WHAT IS IT
He erroneously put a description for the PS2 game Enter the Matrix instead of a description for Kirby.
Kirby is The One.
Can't help but say "Yes!" during the intro every time I watch one of these.
The worst part about Kirby 64 is that it requires you to use the N64's d-pad. Which means holding that left prong of the controller you never use.
"Baby, you've got a volcano going!" - Arrested Development reference?
This is actually the first Kirby game I'd ever played, and I honestly enjoyed it. ^_^
This game has such great music! It's actually my morning alarm. So much better waking up to happy music!
The description talks about Enter the Matrix.
You done goofed, Jirard.
CATCH A RIIIDE?! BORDERLANDS 2 COMPLETIONIST CHALLENGE CONFIRMED...
Love your videos Jirard, keep working hard because you're an inspiration
First complete it in a while. It's always nice to review a game that's great.
Seeing that Kirby Air Ride case reminds me of the struggle for completing the checklists, that would be a true challenge for Jirard!
I remember getting this from Blockbuster, rented it quite a few times as a kid then ended up picking it up at a used video game store. This brought back some memories, thanks Jirard.
OMG THE SEGMENT TRANSITION IN 60FPS..
I love you~
I was like 1 out of 100 kids that accually knew about this game and loved it, this is my childhood
Kirby: being wholesome. Parody TH-camr: i’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that
