Amazing. I agree with your reflections at the end. I got too carried away by the story, and at the end, I realized I forgot to look at the lighting, and I think that is the best result you can ever hope for in filmmaking. The lighting was solid and helped enhance the story, it was not too crazy and felt natural. I like to use lots of shadows and hard lights in my films, but the softer look is more natural.
The thing many filmmakers today, don't realize is that you can just take away lights and shape the shadows, not everything needs a fill. Maybe in commercials, but films are supposed to be real, and a flat look and an image that is technically perfect regarding exposure, etc. do not necessarily translate to a great image.
I love these videos of yours. It is so fun to be "a part" of the project and feel like I am on set with you guys. A good attitude is important on set, and it seems like you are having fun every time, that is so inspiring :-)
And the Auto-tune video of you Anders, that is gold. I watch it from time to time, and it has to be the most random video on your channel, but in a good way 🙂

Love that the team is so wholesome and everything, feels like their main priority is to have good vibes at work/on set.
That being said, there is no way that someone that practiced cinematography for even as little as 3 months thinks that this looks good. The lights don't feel motivated, just extremely sourcey and exagerated. The ratios are all over the place. I don't believe in the lighting in these scenes. This is a great example of lighting feeling "sourcey" and just putting lights for the sake of it.
I think we can all agree that the simpler it is, the better.
Good luck and have a great day!

I love how it is barely noticable that the narrators voice is actually AI.

You could recreate shots from movies. Same lighting, props, makeup, clothes etc and match the original shot with your own - just use less resources and see how far you can take it to match. Would be a fun little experiment in many ways. :)

Nice! I recently motivated my talking head shot in my last video for the first time. To "justify" my key light, I made a "window" shaped "gobo" out of cardboard and shined my spotlight through it so that it looks like "warm sunlight" is coming through the window to key my face when in reality, I was in a pitch black room 😅 I love this breakdown like always, and can't wait for the next one!! Oh yes, also, P.S. I bought the course for $5 to support. Sorry I couldn't afford more ☹

Very nice… Could you please show your camera settings (exposure/false color) when doing a scene…? Both a moody scene like this and a high key bright indoor office scene…?

This was the perfect video to spend my evening, loved the energy! I really liked the conclusion of trying and learning different lighting techniques, to later know when and how to break them

My favourite TH-cam community, we all have come a long way from the GH4 tutorials to a studio. Amazing journey, miss the old Andyax channel a lot when business was not involved, only raw passion. Miss Eskild ❣️
