Come to Norway this June and join our unforgettable film workshop: andyax.com/film-workshops/ See how we made the library scene even bigger using AI! th-cam.com/video/Ksw8jySC_Lc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2j1eR_gB16xIDCpl
Yeah, its easy to get obsessed by creating just soft light, bouncing the light everywhere. It's interesting experimenting with hard light, barn doors, flags etc.
This video made me understand why even a simple scene requires so much work of different people; getting the details on how light is playing in the scene requires a ton of knowledge and equipment. Thanks so much!
The collaboration between the gaffer, set builder/designer, cinematographer, and director is crucial in bringing the vision to life. I'm impressed by the attention to detail and the way the lighting sets the perfect mood for the story. Thanks for sharing! You all did an incredible job!
This is exactly what I have been looking for on youtube! The detail that you explained everything is 10/10 for me! As a beginner I am need to learn from scratch. Film school is not in the cards for me so I have to learn myself and videos like this are the golden nuggets I am looking for! Thank you! 🙏🏼
This was great! Thank you so much. I am way over 35 and believe me, it is not old! I hope you make it big! It was generous of you to share the process with us. Hope to make my solo short film this year, coz I have no one to help or support me! Thank u for this video. All the very best.
I´ve been away from Andyax for a while but I can tell you that if Eskild was still among us he would have been so proud of how far you guys went. Miss him a lot in your videos.
Andy I'm Really Impressed with your Progress! I been following you for about 10 years or more since the Beginning of your Channel! Your Film project is Very impressive. Same as Hollywood Big Budget Quality! Great Job!
even just seeing the sketches over the planned shots, what furniture will stay and go, where light will be, is really helpful. Definitely incorporating this half-storyboard type process
I have followed your channel for more than ten years and the only thing that has improved over the years has been your gear, your talent however, has always been rock solid!
This is such a fabulous tutorial for those of us who aspire to be _better_ videographers, but don't work for big studios with outsized budgets. Huge kudos to the entire team. This has great examples for working with a tight budget to achieve really creative results. Side comment (which has nothing to do with videography...): I am hugely envious that nearly the entire team speaks very good English as a second language... even the little girl! I'm working on Spanish with the hopes of relocating to Central America someday, and am keenly aware of how much effort it takes to attain that B1 / B2 level fluency. Props! J
Thats really cool to see the effort put into set design, it's way too often neglected by filmmakers on youtube. Also the mirror tool on the ceiling was a great idea!
Amazing work …today I know how much people do work behind make one scene perfect…Just Amazing work of whole team …I am also learning all things to make the scene Awesome…Thanks for this kind of information…🤝🙌
in fact i really like this video and how they have explained everything steps by steps.... thank you for this seriously, you've grown my interest in this cinematic things
lights and shadows, i understand that these two elements are worked well, the result is amazing. I hope some day can make same Excuse my english, i learning recently Thanks for show your job
This is all very cool to see. I recently decided to start making more entertaining videos for TH-cam and have been binging videos for research purposes. This is by far the most professional thing I’ve seen and is an absolute slap in the face for me, of just how much can go into making beautiful scenes. I definitely can’t tackle it on my own I see that now! I’ll definitely take what I can though! Thank you for making this!
This is tremendously fun to watch. This is where I am taking my channel, all behind the scenes of our short films as well as scene re creations.Personally I love it and I think others will too! Thanks for the motivation!
Always enjoy your videos and Norway seems such a charmed place... Great tips on set design especially. Funny using budget lights with a really expensive reflector system, though!
Yeah, I understand that these small crew shoots can be quite taxing, but I think in this case specifically, the subject matter was quite emotional as well, so that might have contributed to you feeling a bit taxed, Anders. I certainly felt it that way haha. Great video though!
When you invest emotionally into something it is always going to cost. Then it's all about mindset, "where mind goes energy flows". When sickness striked down us and the team it's extra draining. But overcoming obstacles is just a part of the job. We thrive in challenges, we shine when we get to be creative, we love our work. It makes us develop as individuals and as a team. In the end it all worth it! 😊🙏
I want to work with this since i was a child, here in brazil things are so expensive and people don't appreciate art, is such a sad thing about my country, wish i can go someday to another one
Amazing content as always. Thanks a lot. Your work inspired me a lot. First of all we will start our own video company with one of my best friend in Hungary and we are planning to create a short film. I have already wrote the script. This video (and the others) helps us a lot. Thank you and wish you nice lights😇
Great to watch. Really love watching videos like this, how its all put together, and the tremendous amount of work and effort involved in trying to produce something of this magnitude on a reduced budget. Keep up the great work and all the best.
Very well done. I'm excited for what you all are creating. There is always so much value in your videos. The team clearly puts in the work and it shows. Thanks for sharing.

so important to use shadows - love the dark areas in the library in particular.
Yeah, its easy to get obsessed by creating just soft light, bouncing the light everywhere. It's interesting experimenting with hard light, barn doors, flags etc.
I preferred the dark/ Shadow tones as well. Great cinematography
Me too, Simon 😊
