@@Markus_Andrew I was told 2 reasons. Firstly you often can't see the driver and so can't prove in court who was in control of the vehicle at the time. My personal thought on this is that if it wasn't reported stolen and you won't name the driver then you take the fine. The other reason is "Chain of custody" which ensures the video isn't tampered with. A police video can be tracked every second of the way, not true for a civilian one. Odd really, they'll accept my testimony that "Yes, that's the driver of the vehicle. I saw him" but not my video showing the guy driving the vehicle. Some MAJORLY DISTRACTED drivers here. Cammer @ 8:08 ran the red too. All over Australia there are thousands of roads with HUGE arrows painted on them to let drivers know which side of the road they should be driving on. Somehow so many can't seem to be able to follow directions.
Yellow means stop if safe to do so. The cammer was about 20m from the intersection, in which case its safest to proceed at the speed they were going. The only unsafe thing was the vehicle from the right turn only lane moving to the left halfway through the intersection, and if not for that the cammer would have been well clear by the time the all red phase finished. As a rule, if you are fully stopped before the light turns red, you shouldn't have stopped (unless you're moving really slow, i.e. heavily congested traffic).
Yeah that was borderline. They could have stopped when the car in front braked, and I probably would have, but I don’t think they can be blamed either.
@johnnichol9412 at the end of the day, there are standards for linemarking. The vehicles position relative to the solid line approaching the intersection tells me the vehicle was within 20m of the intersection, and 34km/h is still about 10 metres per second. Given that we set timing for lights with the presumption of a 2 second reaction time, which the law accounts for, over 85% of drivers would have passed through that yellow under the same circumstances.
You have to wonder if some of these radical moves going around people stopped at lights is because someone is having a baby in the backseat, or a heart attack or if they just gotta get home to the dunny real qwik 😂

1:07 Completely missed it the first time! Was too busy people watching. Thought they were going to get beeped by the DCO lol
Lol me too. I was wondering what the point of that video was.
13:55 there's often a reason, MORE often than not, that someone is stopped in your lane in two way street.
13:52 It's so satisfying to watch two idiots take each other out at the same time.
The entitlement of some BMW drivers, is something else. Karma's a bitch. It was beautiful to watch.
1:55 THAT WAS A VERY SHARP REACTION EXTREMELY SHARP REFLEXES❤
I have a feeling 10:42 was going to run the gauntlet as well until the car in front got clipped, then called them idiots 😂.
@15:00 The ute drivers like 'look at the skill this bike riders got' I cant even keep my car in the lane
Ute driver more likely filming the idiot?
To be fair it was a pretty good wheelie, reasonable throttle control (was a bit too on & off - smooth is better), and good rear brake control. Not to say the tool should be doing that on a public road though.
I still maintain that the proliferation of automatic cars is a huge factor in the generally awful driving i see again and again, it makes driving so "easy" that it translate into people being lazy, not paying attention because they are not engaged in the act of driving.
Autos and SUVs. Both phenomena insulate drivers from their surroundings, and indeed from driving itself. Also, cars are now awash with tech wizardry and features that have all to do with comfort and nothing to do with vehicle control/interface. Hence the zombie effect.
Fred Flintstone cars would make it safer still
correct. A stick-shift and clutch used to keep off the roads plenty of people who had no business being on the roads.
Stick and clay tablet made writing neater too.
Been saying this for years.
@15:10 we see the mating display of a motorcyclist as he attempts to attract the attention of the white vehicle.
Seriously? That was his mate in the white ute filming him for content to upload to TikTok under their username imafngoose
10:03 I was thinking it was a car and thought "He ain't gunna make that gap"
Love the look of complete what the fuck are you doing in the face of the vw golf driver that just changed lane in the blind spot of the semi and got crunched. No idea at all that he just caused the collision. People that think it is a good idea to use heavy vehicles as targets to merge in front of are true legends and deserve the darwin awards they often earn.
the idiot nearly lost his hand too. the look on his face was priceless, like a man child who has had everything given to him and cant understand why a truck wouldnt give way
7:23 golf driver is the sort of guy who gets lost in a shower.
With a map and hand written directions.."doi"🤓
10:41 one runs a yellow and the other ran a red. real smart.
And in this weeks instalment of "are roundabouts just a suggestion" we have ...
At 13:54, yes that driver was taking his time to do whatever it was but the other driver was just way too impatient
What a stupid way to ding your Beemer.
both in the wrong I believe.. I think the silver sportage is trying a u turn
@@reggielewis4096 how are they both in the wrong. The silver car was indicating to turn right and traffic behind then stopped to let them turn. BMW overtook and ran into a legally turning vehicle at speed because his peepee was bigger than his brain lol.
Given the cost of motorbike tyres, I'm surprised people do burnouts with them
Gotta spend those cocaine and meth profits on something.
@MeppyMan Just a Leb wedding .. its not like its law abiding people
This is my whole day rolled into one 😆
21:35 dualcab ute, wrong way up a one-way rd, near an RBT - most definitely hammered
If these are the weekly compilations imagine the crashes compilation 😳
Thought I would have made this video after my shenanigans the other week. Guess I'll have to wait until week 3.
Are you saying you didn't survive this week on the road? 🙁
anybody sees a car coming on the wrong side of the road it's probably my Canadian friend who just got here.
1.55, you can see the ute not slowing down from a distance. If I encountered that I would slow down in anticipation they would not give way to right.
Yep, zero awareness from both drivers
16:19 mark is Rosebud, not surprised that happened. Seen alot of tourists doing that, going on the wrong side of Point Nepean Road.
Seems he was waving cam car through, he went slow to hold traffic. Maybe he felt bad for cutting in front
12:45 surely the cammer knew that the other car hadn't seen their lane change until too late.
Given how close the turning car was to being T-boned by the oncoming taxi, it's perhaps reasonable to assume its driver was watching the DC car?
Well he did brake then toot. So his reactions were pretty good. No way that car should have pulled out then.
Man in a Van without a Plan 🤣
"Man in a Van without a Plan 🤣"
Seems more like man in a van who has nothing to lose.🤣
Better start putting Braille on the controls of the car and trucks
18:20 - I thought they were taking a shortcut for parking. Nope - just jumping the queue.
Ah....My weekly installment of why I should probably sell my motorbikes.
Why...because you can't do wheelies at over 90 kph on the highway like old mate at 14:56? 🤔
I live in the country and live my bike. But the odd times I have to ride in Sydney traffic I spend half my time wondering what on Earth am I taking this risk for.
1:00 DCer needs to tear up its license, that was terrible
imagine sending in that clip thinking you're in the right
@@morgy301 Who said they were sending it in 'thinking they were right'? It's a close call for dash cam driver + an accident in front. It's interesting and that is probably why they shared it.
@@lamborghini0610 ok let’s reword that.
Imagine sending a clip to DCOA displaying god-awful driving by the cammer themselves
It also isn’t interesting, its just another shitty example of how terrible drivers are on australian roads.
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t It's a perfect example of why DCOA exists.
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t All these videos are examples of shitty driving...if it's not interesting why are you watching them?
The next Yes or No vote in Australia should be this.
Can Dash cams be used to help Police get imbeciles off the road. Because in the NT, it's not considered "evidence".
I vote yes, but seriously, how can _video_ not be considered evidence?
They could have speed red light cameras at every intersection but they don't cause then no one would do it then & no cha-ching.
@@Markus_Andrew
I had DC video evidence of a lady on her phone but was told by police that it was police official and it wouldn't hold up if it went to court 🫤
Third party video as the only evidence is tricky as there are chain of evidence issues, proof of authenticity, etc. can be used along with other evidence in more serious crimes. At least that’s my understanding. #armchairlawyer lol.
It may be that laws haven't kept up with technology, I think most were written in the days of grainy VHS. "Yes, the armed robber was a tall, grey blur".
10:56 - If this ends up becoming the "most replayed" section, it's likely due to Gorillaz. 😆
11:45 - There wasn't really a car there, it was simply a Mirage. 🤣
11:58 - This clip just produced the most Australian "Wot the fok you doin' m8?!" you've ever heard from American lips.
14:09 - Meth-head Mary, escaping her Napa Valley, CA habitat, takes holiday in Australia.
18:18 - Aaaaaand there's the stereotypical Camry Clip.
21:30 - Dude, turn around! Sobriety checkpoint ahead! 😆
21:30 dude is driving up a one way st (vulture st east Brisbane) right in full view of the cops but perhaps he was lucky enough they weren't watching
0:00 That van has a bit of grunt.
0:28 The anticipation!
0:51 Driver of the Toyota should probably be thankful they abandoned that merge, because otherwise they'd have been caught up in that nose-to-tail.
1:06 I had to re-watch this because I was focused on the pedestrians.
2:48 I was waiting for someone to change lanes to the right, but then the X pulled a pro-gamer move.
3:45 and 16:40 Wouldn't be a DCOA compilation without submissions from Cabo/MField.
6:28 The absolute lack of fucks this guy gives.
6:49 Just amazing how he looks _directly at_ the truck, but doesn't move to get back out of the way until it hits him.
14:54 Consider me impressed, future organ donor.
17:54 Must have already started on their Dan Murphy's Click n Collect order?
I like how the reflection @14:48 looks like a tire spike trap across the road.
For 2023, the number of PotatoCams out there is pretty high. 😕
One of them that appears regularly, I'm sure was made in the mid '1800s.
1:39 Ive got to hand it to these bad drivers who always make their exit: their commitment to getting to work on time is total. (Twit at 17:16 too)
How about the dash cammer in that clip who came to a complete stop in the middle! Talk about drama queen
14:56 Too be fair, that was a pretty good wheelie considering the rider is doing over 90 clicks! Also, it was the only really exciting footage in this weeks compilation. 👍
"To be fair, that was a pretty stupid wheelie especially as the rider is doing over 90 clicks! Hope he gets the licence suspension, multi-thousand dollar fines and bike seized very soon" - there I fixed it for you.
@@AnotherDoug To be fair, you shouldn't use quotation marks unless you are directly quoting something. Are you quoting yourself? Back to English class for you Douglas. 🙄
Like a banged up 90's model Toyota hi-ace could outrun a tuned BMW police car haha
21:04 How on earth have they managed to not hit each other
Physics...and luck,
but the passenger of the SW was about to give that turning driver a piece of his mind.
Welcome to another episode of "Meet The Meth-Heads"!
@@johnnichol9412 he was only that far back because of an emergency stop to avoid a collision. Not exactly reasonable to judge based on that.
Yeah that was borderline. They could have stopped when the car in front braked, and I probably would have, but I don’t think they can be blamed either.
@@Cheesus-Slicedso wrong you are.
10:49 A wild Zubat appears!
You have to wonder if some of these radical moves going around people stopped at lights is because someone is having a baby in the backseat, or a heart attack or if they just gotta get home to the dunny real qwik 😂
Drivers who don't stop for any emergency vehicle should get a big fine and a suspension
30 lashes of a whip.
Instant loss of license!

Most people can't even walk on the footpath without screwing up...
We all make mistakes, which a lot of these are, but I wonder if the police ever bother to go after some of the blatant dangerous drivers who’s number plates are clearly on display.

F*ckwits and stupidity are a bad combo m8.🤣
Correct.
@@jodie01 also correct.
All the problems created by aggressive and distracted driving are often compounded by incredibly poor road layout seemingly designed to cause traffic conflict.
It seems the amount of unsafe driving impatient idiots on our Australian roads is increasing week by week .Much harsher penalties needed for those caught more so for repeat offenders and those towing trailers or in heavy vehicles.

Can we all agree Australia has changed and not for the better. The roads are too congested. My town was a blip on the map 20 yrs ago, now so many are moving in, that a lot of the original residents who've been here 40 or 50 yrs are leaving, seeking quieter places :(
