@@MeppyMan That's the thing, they weren't "waiting". If someone pulls to left side of the road with their right blinker on, it's an odds on bet they're about to do a U turn. In the same way if a vehicle with a trailer or any truck moves to the right but has their left blinker on they are about to enter a driveway or similar.

Hi all! I’m the Uber driver at 8:56 in this video.
I had my BF blur out the passengers faces to respect their privacy.
It was a rainy night and I had stopped at a red light and the bloke behind me failed to slow down in time, slipped on the wet road and rear ended me.
After the video cuts off, I got out and had a chat with the other driver to which he apologised and said not to worry about any damage to his car. Our cars took little to no damage (surprisingly, we must’ve had really good bumpers) so we didn’t bother swapping details, though I would’ve if there had been damage or serious injury.
Both passengers were okay too, the one in the back did bang her head but recovered by the end of the trip, to which I apologised profusely to them both.
Also I saw a few people ask why my cam was facing inward. When I’m Uber driving, I like to turn it around in case I get any dodgy passengers in my car, the same way buses or trains have security cameras. Though I really need to invest in a dash cam that can record both outward and inward simultaneously.
EDIT: Thanks for the advice fellas. Dad was saying pretty much the same thing, that I should've gotten his details anyway just in case something else comes of it later on down the line. I'll bear that in mind for next time something like this happens (though here's hoping there isn't a next time, lol). My car will be getting a service soon.
Also, I'm fully aware that the collision wasn't my fault. The bloke who rear ended me was in the wrong for not slowing down in time. I still just felt bad for my passengers for having to go through that, especially as one of them banged her head.
I'd still get your car inspected in case there's any damage behind the bumper
I'd encourage you to get your car checked over too. Often the bumpers pop back out with the damage sustained underneath. This happened to me a few years ago. I wasn't at fault so no payment from me and not likely for you either. Repairs were still around $1k then and possibly much higher now. Think about resale of your car.
Hope you still save the dude phone number. Go to the nearest mechanic, do a full check of your car. That bang was not an easy one. Lots of electronic, leak can happen from a bump like that in the engine bay as well.
Hopefully nothing happen, but, better safe than sorry.

What would happen if the passengers weren't okay after getting checked at doctor etc. And you couldn't go after the at fault driver, yikes. It isn't the US yet but I would atleast have grabbed his details incase something else came of it down the track

@@nitehawk9270 Too right. If I find myself about to walk too close behind *any* vehicle now, I have a a reaction that is almost physical. It happens even if the vehicle does not have a tow bar fitted, but it has saved me a few times.

Although yes, the turning vehicle was legally at fault, how the other driver could be stupid enough to after witnessing them put their indicator on, attempt to change lanes under acceleration in an attempt to force her legal right of way, was imo at least, far more stupid than the driver that she abused whom even though was at fault, gave ample warning of their dumb decision to do an illegal u-turn without even checking their rear-view first.

Two sets of traffic lights near my house have redlight/speed camera's newly installed, 742 drivers nabbed in 3 weeks of operation. Excellent.
Yes, should be compulsory at every set of traffic lights. At worst it would save us a lot of road taxes. It could save more than a few lives too.
I'm all for catching red light skippers in action, but I'd rather the police do it instead of whatever private entity (usually a corporation, has been Macquarie Bank before) they contract the task to.

One of my favourite activities is judging other people's driving with my wife, but from the safety of my couch rather than witnessing it personally.
Oh come on.... many of these clips are of people making a relatively minor mistake.
There is a some genuinely questionable driving behaviours..... but most of it is people more guilty of being inconsiderate or impatient than anything else.

The fact she didn't just keep driving and took the time out of her day to attempt to get the ducks off the road safely is heart warming. She's obviously no wild life expert which just makes it more impressive that she didn't give up after the duck attacked her. Just a regular person trying to keep some ducks to safety. How many others would of just kept driving.. or not given them ducks the time of day? how many wouldn't care for such creatures?

This does not mean they necessarily have to stop, but when visibility is impaired you should roll forward slowly until you are able to see or are obstructing the intersection. At the point where you can see, you can proceed or stop. At the point where you are obstructing the intersection but still cannot see, you should continue moving slowly for about 1-2 seconds to give people time to react to you then clear the intersection as quickly and safely as possible.
In low speed zones with obstructed visibility, you shouldn't approach intersections at double the speed limit or more, and shouldn't go around visual obstructions faster than is necessary to react.
These people aren't just stupid, they're confident in their stupidity.
It's like declaring that the earth is flat with such enthusiasm and sincerity that people are just floored by how anyone can be that confidently wrong.

i've gone through a red light once, it was evident the truck not ute behind me had no intention or ability to stop. I figure any red light camera would show that frame. Self preservation trumps road rules. Truck pulled over later, had the magic smoke on brakes. Not a hilly area, very strange.
